I have a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo, V6. I need to find the location of the keyless entry/car alarm antenna. I have heard that this vehicle might use the body frame as an antenna. Also where is it attached to the frame if this is the case.

View 13 RepliesWe're having trouble programming the keyless entry fob to unlock the doors. Seems that we can get it to open the automatic way (putting fob close to lock) but to lock and unlock using the buttons on the key hardly ever works. Is there someway to program through the MAF that im not seeing? (tried comfort settings) also tried resetting the key by unlocking manually and starting the car.
View 3 RepliesI have the keyless entry feature, but it's been acting strange lately. I keep my key in my right side jacket pocket & lock/unlock the door with the button on the handle of the car. Lately it hasn't been working....I have the hold the key next to the handle It seems to be doing this just about every other time I get in or out of the car.
View 2 RepliesRecently the keyless entry buttons (lock, unlock, panic) buttons stopped working. The red light still came on (strong), but car wouldn't unlock. The key still works for starting the car, but having to use the manual key to enter.
What I have tried:
Ensured this is Option Package 1 car, no push button to disable the SKS from under the dash Tried the reprogramming steps here in this post (though I would say they are not 100% clear) Read the owner manual pages 20-40 Gave up and spent $5 on another CR2032 battery (did not work).
I often use my key to locate my car in a crowded parking lot. But the range of the keyfob isn't very far, and Prius beeps pretty quietly, compared to other cars I've owned.
Where is the wireless receiver in the Prius? In the door? I'm wondering if there's a way to make it more RF-transparent and thus boost its range.
Not sure if this has been figured out yet. I did a quick search but didn't really find an answer.

Last week my keyless entry stopped working. The key-fob buttons still work but not the push buttons or open signal on any of the doors. Took car in for tire change yesterday and to check this problem. Dealer has checked all the modules, including power and found no problems. They are now working with VW tech support to see what to check next.
View 2 RepliesI have prius 2007 of the Japanese make (140k miles). Yesterday, my keyless fob stopped working. I couldn't use it lock/unlock my car; however, it is starting the car just fine. I replaced the batteries on the fob but no avail. The small red light on the fob is shining like normal. There is no abnormal behavior in the car otherwise. What should I check?
View 8 RepliesI have a 2011 with keyless entry and I can see the key fob on the center console ledge above the cup holders. My doors are locked for some reason and the wife has the spare set 40 miles away already at work. I tried pushing the button on the driver & passenger door and the trunk release. Nothing happens. I just drove the car yesterday and everything was working fine. I thought the doors wouldn't lock with the fob inside the car, or at least unlock if the fob was inside...?
View 30 RepliesMy keyless entry seems to work only when it feels like it. I have had the remote TSB addressed and the range has not improved with the key. I can get the keyless entry to work often by holding the key higher, instead of just leaving it in my pocket. When I try to open the trunk most of the time have to hold the key up high to get it to open. Also my remote range and response to the remote is very bad and inconsistent.
I have read that there are two remotes for the Touareg. One for keyless entry and for without. I am wondering if I have the correct one. I saw a ebay sale for a key with the same part number as the one on mine but it did not specify for keyless entry. The part number on my key is 3D0 959 753 T. It has other numbers as well. Which one is the correct key for keyless entry. If it work for my vin is 0008500.
I would like to do keyless start, but can't until all my remote/keyless entry problems are resolved or the dealer will just blame the keyless start install for the problem. I love my Touareg so little things don't bother me, but would really like to fix this one.
When I hit the buttons on the remote the red light blinks so I assume it has power. But doors dont unlock, lights dont flash, and it can't open the trunk. Is there a fuse for this?

View 3 RepliesI had a remote started installed by the dealer when I purchases my 2014 Avalon Limited.
I was disappointed with the location of the antenna. They installed it on the left side of the windshield (passenger side) about 2-3 inches from the top of the windshield. It is in clear view of the driver while driving and is quite unsightly. In past experienced, I have always seen it installed behind the rear view mirror so it is out of sight, but when I questioned the dealer about the location, they said they cannot install it behind the mirror because of the Black dotted area (antenna?) would interfere with transmission.
I am curious if others have had the antenna installed in the same location or in another, less visible area. I am trying to decide if I want to push the issue further with the dealer.
But i have a 99 silverado 5.3l z71(new body style) bought a new key fob to program but my truck will not go into program mode. Ive tried the hold unlock then cycle ignition and the turn signal version but neither one worked....

View 14 RepliesI have a 00 olds intrigue. Just bought a new keyfob and followed directions to program but after I insert the key the 3rd time and release the unlock switch, the 3 chirps never happen. I even tried pulling the bcm pgm fuse but didn't work. Pgm directions are, close dors, insert key turn to on, remove key, hold driver unlock button in unlock position while inserting and removing key 3x but don't turn ignition, leave in on 3rd time and let go of lock, then you should hear 3 chirps, after chirps press and hold keyfob lock & unlock together x 14 seconds then you will hear another chirp. I never get the first 3 chirps or anything after.
