Renault - Clio :: High Frequency Noise After Few Seconds When Start The Car
Jun 6, 2016
When I start the car, after a few seconds starts a high frequency noise. The noise is located in middle right low part of the car. Here is the recording of the sound: [URL] ....
The noise gets stronger after 14 sec of the video- when i get closer with recorder,.. And the image of the possible location: [URL] .... The image is near fuel tank, but doubt it has to do with the sound.

Just bought a 2008 Clio dynamique 1.2 16v when starting the car up it would make a small grinding noise. Thinking it was a starting motor issue I went and took it apart cleaned and greased it up then put it back in, went to start the car up and got nothing no turning over or anything.

I have a mk2 Clio 1.2 petrol with a manual transmission which I recently got as a first car a a family member was going to scrap it. I have have fitted a clutch and after doing this I noticed that the reverse lights are on all of the time when the key is on. I am unsure whether the lights were like this before I did the clutch, but I have gone back and ensured the the plug was fitted to the reverse light switch cleaning out the connector. This made no difference and (strangely to me) with the plug off of the switch the lights remain on. I have checked the wiring in the area I have worked for a short and have found nothing. The only thing I can think that is left that it can be is the reverse light switch, but I'm not convinced with the fact that the lights are still on with the switch unplug.

My Prius just reached 200000 km this week. I bought it at 180000 km 2 years ago, I don't drive it that much simply because I work from home.
Today, a sunny day, 0 degrees, the check engine just lit-up. I opened the hood and checked fluid levels, all OK. I started it and listened to the engine, running as usual. However, when the motor stopped (hybrid ON), I can hear a high frequency noise. I don't remember hearing this noise, but I don't think I ever opened the hood with the engine Off but powered On.
How can I get the check engine code ? I assume I need a connector, right ?

So I'm at my wits end trying to locate (and fix) a loud, high frequency rattle noise inside the engine compartment.
It can be heard when applying the gas pedal a certain amount. In other words, I can "find" the noise and maintain it at a certain rpm.
The noise is coming from the back of the engine near the firewall. It feels and sounds like it's coming from the throttle body plate and vibrating the gas pedal. I cleaned the plate and it isn't loose.
The issue doesn't seem to be affecting engine performance.
The sound is noticeable while driving (under load). When in park, I can find an rpm where the throttle body seems to take a heavy wave of vibration from the engine and hum (but not nearly as loud as while driving). Issue existed before I put on new motor mounts, and still persists after replacing all 4 (although the vibration and noise are reduced).

I have a Renault Scenic of 2001 with a 1.4 petrol engine (hope you've heard of scenic before) that stall on start every time and i need to push the gas pedal a few times to get it start. That happens every time my car stays more then 20 minutes off, while surprisingly mornings starts faster than usual (that is without stalling) and keeps the idle high for several minutes (even in summer). Don't know if this is related but I also get vacuum in the gas tank (i guess) as it stops the fuel pump when refilling every 5 seconds.

My Prius v has 1300 miles. I didn't notice at first but now I notice a constant high frequency vibration in the car, especially at highway speeds. Took car to a tire shop and had tires dynamically balanced, same problem. I think it must be the toyo low profile tires or its in the drive train and just inherent to the hybrid system. Seems to be the same whether in eco mode or ev. Vibration is the same on smooth or rough roads. Dealer service manager says he is not aware of any problems. Suggests bring car in for a test drive and compare with another new one.

I have a 2011 GTI with about 30k miles on it.... A couple thousand miles/couple months ago I hit a pothole on the highway.... it was a very sharp impact... the sidewall of the tire blistered and the rim was bent as well.... I got new tires and the rim fixed but it still feels like there is something wrong
During the 30k mile service at the dealer I brought it up and they balanced the wheels but didn't see anything wrong... I've had it balanced/aligned a few times since but it doesn't correct the issue... neither the tire shop nor the dealer was able to see anything blatantly wrong
It feels like something is "loose" and the car vibrates mildly at a high frequency... not just in the steering wheel... the vibration is mostly noticeably at higher speeds but the "looseness" can be felt at just about any speed...
At this point I've pretty much ruled out balance and alignment so what else could it be? Wheel bearing? Control arm bushing? Tie rod? Bent Axle? Steering collar?

I have a 2015 RX350 with 25k. New tires, two road force balance by two different dealers and I'm still getting a high frequency vibration mostly in the seats above 60mph. Dealer cannot find any issues.

Every so often, and only when turning left at a very slow speed, just for a spilt second there is a high frequency buzz that I can feel through the steering wheel. It makes no sense but I can only assume that it has something to do with the power steering. I have driven a lot of vehicles in my life and this is a new one for me.

From time to time I get this high vibration on start-up of the car. It almost seems like more of the engine noise and vibration is coming through to the cabin. It only lasts about 5 seconds from initial start up and the rpm does not change and stays constant. This only happens maybe once every other week or once a month. What or why this could be happening?

When I test drive the PIP, I kept hearing a high frequency pitch noise whenever the car was accelerating. It almost sounds like when you lightly touch the trigger on a cordless drill. Sales guy and my wife couldn't hear it, but I do have extremely sensitive hearing.
A quick search didn't reveal anything, so I am wondering if this is a problem, or maybe part of the pedestrian warning system (although it happens at higher speeds as well).

After driving for 30 minutes on the freeway, my Sonoma develops a high freq vibration that seems to increase after it starts. lessens a little as I slow, but does not go away until after the car has been parked for a while, but not as noticeable under about 30.. I have experienced this the last three days on my commute to and from work. Did have the breaks checked. I did have a clunk sound when i released the brakes at a stop, but that went away after the first brake check where they did not find anything, but just cleaned out the dust and readjusted. The vibe is pretty strong and makes me nervous to drive.

I drove this Elantra on a substantive test ride myself and initially as passenger. In twiddling with the interior with radio off and engine off, I have noticed an audible hum from the electronics. The hum disappears when the key is turned off.
This is not a loud hum but it is noticeable to me. I think it is normally masked by the air circulation/heat or use of the radio. Is such a thing covered by warrantys? Everything works in the car so I don't know how to describe the complaint to service especially since they might not hear it.

Just got my 2014 SCREW 6.5bed with eco boost. Truck has a high frequency vibration very noticeable at 45-55 MPH. So bad the rear view mirror is blurry. Took it to the dealer and they said the e-brake was dragging and fixed that and said the vibration was gone. Not gone. Did some searches and found a number people reporting vibration issues possibly related to drive shaft issues.
Took this video of the slip yoke at the T-case idling in first gear, sent it to the dealer and they said that's normal. I don't think that looks normal. Does that looks normal?

I've noticed on first start up the RPMs go as high as 3000 for a couple of seconds and then drop to normal even at 68' degrees,is that normal? because if it is what will aspect when the temperature drops to 20 or even lower. It is a 2.5 liter 4.

A minor but persistent (year-long) rough idle on my 1991 240 has quickly turned into a Cold Start Nightmare over the past month:
SITTING HOURS OVERNIGHT (50 to 60-degree temp. overnight) - When I attempt to start in the morning, the engine idles high for 3-5 seconds and then immediately dies. To successfully start, I must keep pressing the accelerator pedal at least half-way down for 2-3 minutes. The engine sputters, almost backfires, shakes, lopes, almost dies, etc. After 2-3 minutes, everything runs just fine.
WARM ENGINE SITTING - Once the engine is warmed up, it will consistently start without problems. Still a slightly rough idle, but OK. The car does not die.
I have changed the battery, coolant temp. sensor, and spark plug wires.

I have a 93 sl1, about a week ago it made a high pitch squealing noise for a few seconds before the car died. after that it would not start. I checked all the pulleys, they were fine.

Have just picked up a 2011 Tiguan Highline, and there is a loose clunk in the front going over high frequency bumps in the road. I own a MKIV Jetta TDi and it feels similar to bad sway bar bushings on my MKIV, however it's not the bushings on the Tiguan.
I crawled underneath and tried to find looseness in the suspension with no luck. The sway bar end links seem tight (compared to the MKV Jetta I also have), and the strut mounts do not seem to be loose.
What I did find were some suspect control arm bushings. I'm new to suspension noises in this platform, our MKV has been flawless for the past 7 years. Could these worn bushings cause a loose clunk?
I also checked the subframe bolts and fuel lines that come up in common searches.

2014 Camry, 4 cyl. 65K ... Wife's car has developed a vibration that is going to be hard to get a dealership service group to troubleshoot due to randomness. I drove it for 30-45 mins today and have this description:
-Vibration, either described as a 'buzz' or a 'high frequency vibration'
-Happens in the 28-38mph range (different points)
-Under very slight acceleration. (hard acceleration efforts produce nothing)
-Can't swear to it, but feel like it is always in 'high' gear
-feel it in 'seat of pants', NOT through the steering wheel
-Is faint on sound, but you can hear something
-Is typically only a second or two
-Is very hard to 'create', but then happens unexpectedly.
-My wife first reported it to me, and I took my son on the test drive today and he could feel it as well when it hit, but couldn't pinpoint it as it comes and goes so quickly, but again, you feel it in the seat/butt more than anywhere else.
I've checked lug nuts to try to eliminate something easy and they are fine.
Since it is relatively slow speeds and under very slight acceleration, can there be a 'solenoid' that is creating a false shift effort, but just vibrates the trans instead? Without any info other than what I have stated above, I'm leaning toward transmission, but again, probably not enough info to go on....
