Regal :: 2004 Will Not Release Key Randomly

Randomly, my 2004 Regal will not release the key. It will not turn to the release position. I have removed all but ignition key, remote start fob and trunk key from the key ring. When it happens the most successful strategy has been to turn the key back to on position and wait a bit and try again to turn key to the release position. I have also tried shifting through the gears, turning the car back on and then off, and of course a bit of cursing. Everything is so random, nothing works every time. I have had to leave the key in the car occasionally, it's crazy.

I have a 1995 Buick Regal, with a 3.8L engine. When I start the car sometimes it rough idles and I have to give it a lot of gas and then it runs fine. This is completely random. Sometimes it runs just a little rough, other times really rough. The rough idling when starting the car happens about 1 out of 25 times. Sometimes when this happens I get a check engine light, most of the time not. When I am driving around I also will randomly get a check engine light, but I can't tell anything common to it. It has come on while braking, while coasting with foot off the gas and brake, normal city driving, highway driving. Also my CEL always turns off when I turn off the car and doesn't come back when I restart the car. Always.
I haven't been able to figure out what is wrong and since my car is transition OBD1 to OBD2 I can't use a OBD2 code scanner (it is an OBD1 port), nor will shorting the pins in my OBD1 type port give me codes. Being this the case I took it to a local mechanic and they scanned the computer and said they got 16 error codes. They reset the codes but couldn't get the CEL to come back on. I took it drove it for a couple of days the light came back on so I took it back to the shop and they got 18 codes out of it, but they were mostly different, with some of them giving the opposite readings of before (O2 sensor high one time, then low the next check). They said they didn't know what was going on but wanted 3-4 hours to diagnose the PCM (Powertrain control module) and would probably replace the PCM (~500 on top of the diagnostic fee). That was a bit much for me, so I took the car back.
The things I have checked are fuel pressure (seems fine at idle and revving the car in park)Vacuum is 19 and when I rev quick it drops to zero or so then up to 25 and slowly goes back to 19 (I think that means vacuum is ok). I put the gauge in the O2 sensor before the CAT and I didn't read any pressure, so I think the CAT is ok.I put on a new fuel pressure regulator, and a new fuel filter. I got the same PCM at a Pick-n-pull place and put it is my car 3 days ago. Yesterday I got a check engine light while driving again. The mechanic will charge me to check the codes, but I think it is just doing the same thing as always. I am sort of at a loss as what to do. I though it I was to dive around with a scanner hooked up and the light went on then I could see what the sensors were doing when all the trouble codes fire. I was looking at the Actron CP9190, but it doesn't log the data stream for OBD1 cars, only for OBD2.

I have a 1998 Buick Regal where the steering wheel randomly locks up while I am driving it. I usually stop the car and start it back up with success. The last time this happened was after I had the supercharge engine replaced. Once it locked up it I tried to start it up. The first time it did not restart, but the second attempt worked. I have taken it two really good mechanics and neither were able to diagnose the problem. I cannot remember if I am running the air conditioner when it happens. I know that sometimes I am. What could be causing my car to randomly lock up like this?

My problem is that I get a pretty good pop from the main release inside the car. The hood doesn't come up too much, and the secondary release tab does not pop out from under the hood. I've managed to get the grille off. The tab will move back and forth a little, but then stops. Even yanking on it will not cause it to release the hood the rest of the way.
A couple of the fixes out there are spraying some lube in there (done) and popping the latch with a screwdriver (can't see how to do this on my car). There is even one for drilling a hole to get access, but I think this might be a B5 thing?

I am attempting to replace my antenna base and while removing the headliner I noticed the airbag curtain on the side posts. They are taped up and folded up like an accordion, but I was concerned that they might deployed if disturbed. Need to know whether or not they will release.

Recently bought a 2006 RX400h - my first Lexus. Occasionally when braking it feels like the electric motors "won't release" for a second or two and the car lurches. Eventually they do and then braking feels normal. But while this is happening it feels like I have to really step on the brakes to get it to stop.

I hear the electrical activity of the door lock mechanism.....locking and unlocking the door but the door latch is "frozen" closed and will not release. Inner and/or exterior door handles fail to release the latch no matter how many times they are pulled. Red Led on the top of the door pannel functions normally.

My 2008 FX4 won't disengage from park without depressing the manual release (white button). Center console shifter interlock. All I need to know is the part number for that solenoid. None of my local parts stores have a clue and I don't trust my local stealerships.

On my 2004 F-150 (new style) the passenger seat belt will not release. What steps do I need to take to find the retractible mechanism in the back portion of the seat? Does one have to cut the fabric? I removed the head rest and the top portion where the belt rides but can't locate the retractible part.

I have an issue, and I don't know if it's kids, animals, or the car itself. Last night it happened at 3am, tonight I'm sitting on the couch at 12.30am and it just went off again....
I don't see anyone out there around the car, not sure I saw anything last night either. Is there a cause for this? I just replaced my 12v battery in March, have a dead FOB smart key in a fire box (it's up on top of everything in the box). My current key was lying flat on the bench, nothing on top of it.

2004 Prius. Sometimes, quite randomly, the headlights will turn off. Sometimes its both, sometimes its the left only, and sometimes its the right only. This affects both main and high beams. The dash lights and tail lights may still be on (panicking doesn't give me time to confirm that), but for sure the Nav panel is still lit.
The first time this happened was when I was driving on a mountain road at night in the rain. It now happens almost every night and I have confirmed that it also happens in daytime. Road conditions (bumpy/smooth, wet/dry, dark/well lit) do not seem to be a factor.
At least once while still in my garage, when I started the car the left light was out. I can get the lights to turn back on by turning them off all the way and then back on. Nothing else works. I have replaced the relay for the lights - that didn't change anything.

Recently Ive been having issues with my prius 2008 , it all started when I was driving back home and 3 lights came up randomly. They were the VSC, (!), ! With triangle. I parked the car and turned it off and turned it back on the engine would not start and the 3 lights from before came up in addition to the check engine light, the abs, the emergancy brake and anti skid, and then the red car with ! Came up on the navigation screen. I had to unplug the startup battery and pluged it back in. it started and was fine for about a day. Cant run any tests until it happens again. We had the 12V battery checked and it is just fine.

Engine will die randomly. After sitting for half hour it will restart. It has been to the dealer, it sets no codes but when it dies all lights on dash come on just like when you first start car. It has 75k on it timing belt replaced new plugs and wires. Dealer kept it 2 days and could not replicate the problem.

I have a 2004 V8 phaeton that has a radio and electronics that now have a mind of their own. The radio will come on randomly and can not be controlled. The main computer screen will sometimes not come on. On the screen in the instrument cluster it jumps between degrees F and C. I have replaced both batteries, done a static discharge and taken it to the dealer to have all of the codes cleared... Later that day it all came back... So I went to the dealer and they cleared the codes again. It is back again.

So a couple days ago my key fob randomly stopped working. I search around the internet and found a youtube video describing how to replace the battery. I used a CR2032 battery. However, my keyfob still won't unlock my car.
Unfortunately, I bought it used and didn't receive a manual key with it (derp moment, I didn't even know there was one!) so I have no idea if it would even start my car. When I replaced the battery the red LED light flashed for maybe 10 seconds then stopped. It then doesn't flash if I hit lock or unlock.

My husband's 2004 Silverado truck randomly cuts out and stalls. He has replaced sensors and now the computer and it still randomly "dies". Three different mechanics have looked it over and checked the computer codes and can not figure out what is causing it.

I drive a 2004 Sunfire and recently the brakes have started to just randomly "lock on" while driving. Upon visual inspection I noticed that the gasket for the brake fluid reservoir has holes in it - could the loss of vacuum in the brake system cause this? I have ordered a replacement gasket from Amazon. Seems that if I pull over, remove the reservoir lid and reseat the gasket, then let the car sit off for awhile it corrects itself. Before this started occurring I had the brakes visually inspected and the car test driven (unrelated) by a mechanic, and he said everything seemed fine.

My Mom has an '04 RX330, and the other day the sunroof randomly opened, and she closed it with the button with no problem. For the last 3 days, this has occurred randomly (opening only - all closing is by her) and all occurrences are when she is driving (not parked).
I told her to wrap the fob in foil today to remove that connectivity and to see if the fob is to blame. We will replace those batteries anyway as I don't know that they have ever been replaced.

Have a 2007 GX 470 with 70,000 Miles. Recently we have had problems with the ignition getting stuck. Key will go in, but, will not turn. Happens randomly and unpredictably. Will start after a period of time. Sometimes 30 minutes, sometimes several hours. My not happen for a few weeks or sometimes 2 or 3 times a week. Neither Lexus or Toyota claims to have heard of this problem.
