View 7 RepliesMy 2005 Prius has 95k miles on it. I've been hearing a cluck-cluck-cluck noise from near the front driver side wheel. I had an independent mechanic test drive it, who said the wheel bearing needs replacement. Should I have it checked out by a Toyota dealer? They're so much more expensive, but are is it worth taking it to them?
View 15 RepliesBringing the steering wheel out another inch or two would do wonders. But is there an acceptable path? I know this isn't done casually, because it could interfere with the airbag.
There are two possibilities.
First, some kind of extender that would be inserted behind the steering wheel.
Alternatively, I see an external wheel extension that targets handicapped drivers. See link; this might do the trick and not interfere with the airbag for 14" diameter and an extension of an inch or two.
It seems that my wheel is turning into a grey/white.. Having Fading Steering Wheel (Vinyl).
View 2 RepliesHiMy prius c ,s steering wheel is sometimes smooth but sometimes its hard. I tested on the same road with only me inside the vehicle. Is there something wrong with the rack ? My tire size is 195/65/r16.
View 4 RepliesMy car has shaken from the start but I thought it was because it was a small car that was a great price so this is how it ran. Today it started shaking so badly up through the steering wheel that I was afraid to drive it. Still am. I got the tire pressure checked, the wheel balancing checked - all ok. Took it into the dealership (car is still under warrantee) and they think it's likely the drive train/drive shaft.
View 3 RepliesTrying setting up new controls in the steering wheel of a Prius? I have the "four" package so there's a blank spot on the right side where the radar cruise and lane assist controls would be, and I would kill to have the three driving mode buttons right there for easy switching while driving around town. Is that sort of thing even technically possible?
View 7 RepliesMy steering wheel and shifter lights went out, while all the other indicator and light works. This is a blown fuse or is it something major to fix?
View 5 RepliesNew prius here. Is there a way to increase the intensity of the illumination in the steering wheel?
View 3 RepliesWhen you drive with the lights on in the night there is light in the icons on each and every button on the steering wheel. I need this light to be stronger and it does not change when changing the lights in the instrument.
View 4 RepliesJust bought a steering wheel cover from Amazon, but the standard size cover turned out to be too large for my C's steering wheel. I've noticed the steering wheel is actually in an oval shape, where the bottom part is flat. I doubt if any steering wheel cover would fit it.
View 19 RepliesIt has been there for about 6 months....i own a 3rd gen and i feel the steering bit heavy (actually not soft) to steer compared to other toyota models...the tire is 215 45 r17...can the steering tightness be adjusted technically at some point....
View 8 RepliesI noticed while driving my c at night that the lights on the steering wheel are real dim.. I can not figure out how to brighten them.. .or is there a way?
View 19 RepliesI'm looking to take off my steering wheel controls to wrap them. Do I just rip the horn cover off or pop them off? I'm worried about deploying air bags or are those thoughts unfounded?
View 2 RepliesWhen I picked up my car I noticed the steering wheel is slightly off center to the left. I brought it back to the dealer who checked the alignment which was spot on. Toyota was notified and another C on the lot was driven which it's wheel was also slightly left. Dealer notified Toyota and offered to adjust wheel one more click but at the risk of it possibly moving to far to the right. I left it as is and as long as alignment is in specs I'm not to worried.
View 19 RepliesI just purchased a 2010 Prius III with 47,000 miles on. I love the car except for one thing. it has a vibration I can feel in the steering wheel and seat at around 68-69mph. The dealer says it is normal. I did test drive another 2010 Prius and it did seem to have the same vibration.
View 19 RepliesI bought a 2013 prius two couple weeks ago,Whenever I start and drive it, there is a short clicking sound from the steering wheel. It only last for a really short time and only happen when I start driving the car.
View 1 RepliesHave an '06 Prius, 154,000+ on it... A set of controls on the right hand side of the steering wheel have just quit functioning... controls the windshield defrost, the rear window & mirror defrosters and the inside/outside air circulation.
View 14 Replies2010 Prius 3. Will check fuses, but the fuse chart doesn't say which one, and checking them one at a time doesn't thrill me. Which number fuse?
View 4 RepliesMy key only works now if I push it in the slot next to the steering wheel. I never had trouble with it before. It also only works intermittently for locking/unlocking the doors. Do I need a new key?
