I have a 2014 Prius V seven seater. A few times while driving, the rear passenger seat belt reminder display on the dash lights up even though the passengers are belted in securely and stays on until I stop the car and then power off and on again.
View 6 RepliesWhen I'm driving without a passenger, the passenger seat belt reminder light illuminates and stays on. Is there some sort of computer or weight sensor in the seat that trips this indicator light? I've noticed that sometimes, if I push down on the seat or move the seat forward or back, the light will go off. For the most part, however, it comes back on and remains on.
View 17 RepliesQuestion is about seat belt reminder/warning light that sits on right side of the radio. Mine is on all the time, it doesn't matter if someone is sitting in passenger seat or not. The only thing it will be different is when you first start the car or if someone is in passenger seat it pulsates 10 or 11 times and then stays on. I tried different seat belt & seat belt buckle, nothing. There is no warning light on my instrumental panel. Everything seems to be fine beside that light. And yes I did search for it here on forums, google, etc, and I'd rather fix this problem then just unplug the light. What could be the problem? Light itself?

I have a unique situation:
•No passenger: light is "Airbag" - No red flashing seat belt sign
•Passenger with seat belt: light is "Airbag" - No red flashing seat belt sign
•Passenger with no seat belt: light is "Airbag" - No red flashing seat belt sign
I have no other warning lights on the dash.
I tried to check to check if there are any loose wires/connectors under the passenger seat but everthing looks ok.
Is there a blown fuse?
So my passenger seat belt looks twisted. The little "tongue" on the inside is still pointing towards the pillar but the belt itself is twisted and hard turns it hits the plastic and makes noise. I tried twisting it and running the buckle through it. That didn't do the trick.
View 9 RepliesI'm not sure if this is an epidemic or not but I thought I remembered seeing some others with this issue: when driving alone, usually in cooler temps, the passenger seatbelt buckle near the console rattles like a mofo. I have seen some reports of people getting it fixed at their dealership, some managed to get it done under warranty with some effort. I'm considering trying to fight the dealership to do it under warranty when I go in for my 30k service, but wondering if it's something I could tackle at home. Hasn't been too bad since the weather warmed up so not even sure I could duplicate the issue for the dealer tech.
View 11 RepliesOver the past 9 months with the Sonata, I haven't really noticed anything that I dislike about the car. The 1 thing I dislike the most, that I can't change, is the "pick-up style parking brake". However, the other thing that I CAN change is.
When driving with the front windows down, the passenger seat belt flaps around and hits the pillar from time to time. It's pretty loud; to the point where it can be startling if you don't know it can happen. I'm trying to figure out a way to remedy, but if someone already has, how so?
My passenger side seat belt clip rattles like crazy (the red thing where u insert the seat belt). The driver one is perfect and stiff, but the passenger one is all loose.
View 14 RepliesI have been using it a lot over the last 2 years since I bought my 2005 3.0 TDi. Love the car, have had a few issues but nothing major. I do now have an issue with the seat belt height adjustment in the passenger side. It will go down, but not up....slightly annoying as you can imagine. When I press the button to raise the belt, nothing happens. Seat are 18 ways ventilated massage seats.

View 2 RepliesI just took possession a few weeks ago,and I love the car. I've only had one passenger, once in the car, and yesterday, I noticed that the passenger seat belt light is continually flashing when I'm driving. If I'm in park, it's off, but when in gear, that little red light flashes non stop.
Is this normal when there isn't a passenger? I don't remember this happening before, and, I'm sure I would have noticed that annoying little beacon.
If it's wrong, how do I fix it? If it's supposed to be there ... how to I fix it?
On my 2004 F-150 (new style) the passenger seat belt will not release. What steps do I need to take to find the retractible mechanism in the back portion of the seat? Does one have to cut the fabric? I removed the head rest and the top portion where the belt rides but can't locate the retractible part.
View 3 RepliesI purchased a 2011 Toyota Camry LE (2.5L I-4, Automatic) about a month ago (August 2010 in Houston, TX.) Right from the day one, I noticed numerous intolerable rattles. The most prominent ones are, a clicking noise from steering wheel, especially when turning in a parking lot with vehicle not in motion, and on and off rattling from driver and passenger seat belt columns in the B pillar. Mechanically the car is average (good engine, uncertain transmission) but interior fit and finish is plain disaster.
I took the car twice to the dealer. While they refused to notice any noise from the seat belt columns, they did acknowledge the ticking noise every time the steering wheel is turned on either side. Initially they tried to identify it as the turn signal correction mechanism noise, which turns the turn signal off automatically after making a turn. I insisted for the shop foreman to take a look at it. After further inspection they said it wasn't the turn signal correction mechanism but some "normal harmless rattling" from the steering column . Is there any other Camry owner with similar problems??
How to disable the seat belt warning sound and or the passenger side airbag warning sound?

Whenever a passengers seats the seat-belt light does not blink, but airbag warning on my dashboard is still turned on. I went to the dealer and they told me to replace the cushion for the passenger.
View 19 RepliesHaving issue with seat belt buckle vibration, passenger side, when the vehicle speed is between 40-50 miles/hr ? It feels like an exhaust vibration transferred through the floor connection of the seat belt. How can I get rid of it ? The vibration feels like a cell phone set on vibrating and is very annoying for the passenger.

If so, I could go to the dealer and get it fixed. This is for 2013 Sonata GLS.
Instructions on how to disable your seatbelt chime.
1. Buckle Seatbelt (1.1) go to ACC mode.
2. While depressing the brake, turn the key to the ON position. I Was thinking someone might experiment with in the ACC mode might work by pressing the start button w/o your foot on the brake pedal.
3. Press the trip reset button a few times, stop when the ODO is displayed (not trip distance - A or B). If the odometer starts at the mileage, cycle through anyway.
4. Turn the ignition to LOCK.
5. Unbuckle the driver's seat belt.
6. Turn the key to the ON position again. When the dash lights comes on, press and hold the trip reset button, and count to 20 (slowly).
7. While still holding the trip reset button, buckle the driver's side seatbelt.
8. The odometer display should read "b ON" or "b OFF". Depress the trip reset button to toggle.
9. Unbuckle and Turn OFF the car.
I noticed that sometimes when I take off my seatbelt a little early when I drive into the parking lot at work or drive into my in the parking lot at work, the seatbelt beep. I get it. It's a warning that you should be wearing your seatbelt. No problem with that. I'm just wondering why it's inconsistent. Sometimes it beeps, sometimes it doesn't.
