I was playing with the settings on the Display Audio/Setup/Vehicle settings.
I turned the "Key System with Elec. Key" setting to off.
Now I cannot turn the Power on in the car. I can unlock/lock the car using the buttons on the key FOB.
But when I press the Power button with my foot on the brake, all I get is the red "no key" security indicator on the display.
Another problem just came up with my 1999 1500 suburban. When I press the AC button, the indicator light comes on, but no cold air.
I am searching for some schematics at the moment and thought I'd drop a post here for some expert advice.
I realized that the ac clutch does not engage at all when the button is pressed. Does this mean low refrigerant, bad relay or switches?
It all worked a few months ago, before I started fixing the random engine misfire problem. But I did not touch the AC components back then.
Also, read some info on using a scanner to find info on AC request. However, not sure if this scanner (MD9000) has that ability (it's a friend's).
2007 Prius is not starting. The power doors, lamps, and headlights work. 12V battering showing 13v on multimeter. When you press power button with/without key FOB in, power button shows green but car does not engage.

View 19 RepliesRecently, my 2007 Prius will make a "BEEP" when I press the POWER button to shut down the vehicle. This doesn't happen all the time, but only 1 out of 25 times or so. Other than the beep, I can't seem to figure out what's wrong. Everything seems to work as normal.
View 4 RepliesFinally received my Prius 4 a few days ago.. I cannot find the way to get the power mode curve to display on the screen. How to do this? I have been able to get the curve on the HUD but not on the screen next to the speedometer. I do get a bar indicator showing the modes stacked up inside the bar but no curve display.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2010 Prius IV. Yesterday, a new indicator started to flash after I turn off my car. It is an image of a car and lock. I checked in my manual and it appears to be related to immobilizer system. I have the smart key and it is flashing this indicator and beeping with both smart keys. I called a Toyota dealer and it sounds like it is just my security system activating after I turn off my car. The man said it was normal and it should have been doing this long-term. My car has never beeped and flashed this indicator until yesterday. Is it something I should be worried about? Does this mean my security system has never been activated until yesterday???

View 5 RepliesToday I replaced my stock 95 Civic headlights with brighter (more white) halogen bulbs. The installation was fast and easy, however, I've noticed one problem after the installation; the remote power locks are no longer working. The car remote still flashes green when I press the button but I get no response from the power locks.
Because of this the alarm no longer activates when I lock my car from the remote. What could be causing the issue? Are the lights taking up too much power? Do I need a better battery? The lights are a big improvement from the stock lights however its very important for my car to be secure. It's been broken into twice, thieves love to target old Hondas...
I have a 2010 Prius Hybrid and lately, on an intermittent basis, I will press the brake pedal and push the start button and the dashboard lights up as normal but when I go to put it in gear nothing happens. The last time it happened the fan was running and I couldn't turn it off. It's like the car is all set to go but all the interior controls don't function. I then shut it off and restart it and everything works.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2007 Toyota Prius. When I press the brake pedal and press the start button the engine does not start or the wheels are not powered by the battery. It gives me the following errors:
The indicator in the Start button lights in Amber Color.
0 kmph mark is not activated in the dash board pannel.
When I shift the gears it only shifts to neutral ("N") gear.
I cant move the car forward or backward. An error message is displayed in the MFD in Japanese language. It is in Japanese and I cant read the error message.
I typically drive in Eco Mode all the time and I'm tired of seeing the green light when the rest of the panel is a cool blue color (I like uniformity). Is there a setting or a way to turn this off? I can tell which mode I am in by the response of the pedal and don't necessarily need it lit up, so wondering if there is a setting anywhere to turn it off. I couldn't find anything in the manual.
View 10 RepliesThe display it's always on when you drive.I do not have a navigation system and sometime I don't want to listen to music while I drive.The Manual won't say anything about it,you can push the power off for the CD but then the display stays on.This is the first car that I own that you can't shut the display off complete.
View 5 RepliesSo for 4500 miles since new my truck has been displaying, on the right side of the instrument display in the center dash, the actual gear the truck is in. I would shift from park to drive and move out and the truck would display what gear it was in by placing a lighted box around the gear number as it shifted 1-6. Now that display is gone. It's not anywhere. If I go to the manual mode it will display that, but the normal numbers from 1-6 , bottom to top , are gone.
View 14 RepliesOn my MPG display if I push the steering wheel button once, I see actual MPG and the numbers jump all over the place depending on how I am driving. Push the button a 2nd time I see avg mpg, push it a third time and I see range how many more miles I can go.
If I push the button a 4th time I see "- - -?".
I've owned a 2014 Prius Four (not IV, Roman numerals were for model year 2010) w/o Nav for just about a year now. I've encounter this mysterious condition three times now where when I turn on my car, all I see on the front displays are the READY light on the far left and the mini-display that shows the shift pattern.
* Both the speedometer/fuel gauge display on the left of the shift pattern display and the "Hybrid status" display on the right of the shift postion display are OFF.
* The car operates normally (it's not in a limp-home mode).
When I first encountered this issue and reported it to my local dealer, they suggested I take a video of it with my smartphone. I did so the car (and a copy of the video) is now at the dealership.
The second and third times this issue came up, I took videos and did some additional testing.
- When these two displays are OFF, there is no backlight to the climate control LED display underneath the stereo...
- I normally drive the car with the headlamps in "AUTO" mode. When you shift the headlamp switch to "DRL off", the two missing displays automatically power on. In any other position (Auto, corner marker lamps only, or headlamps ON position) the two displays in question turn off.
- The issue isn't with me accidentally turning the dimmer switch too low. When the dimmer switch is set to max low and the dash light sensor is covered (emulating complete darkness outside), all three displays on the dash (including the shift position display) are barely visible/look off. As the service advisor saw in my video, that's not the case.
This is clearly a safety issue ("you cannot tell how fast you are going" and "you cannot tell easily how much gas you have left without going through the infotainment display) so for now the dealership at least seems to be on my side in that something needs to be repaired. The good news is that now that the issue has been documented in my service history, they did comment that it will get fixed eventually even if the issue comes back after test. For now, the dealership is stumped so they asked Toyota for guidance on what parts to try replacing.
I have a 2005 Prius with around 115,000 miles.
I have the following warning lights on:
1) Check Engine
2) Yellow Indicator, looks like exclamation point inside a circle inside parenthesis.
3) Red Multi-information display (exclamation point inside a triangle)
4) Hybrid System Warning Light on display screen, looks like exclamation point through a car
The engine cranks up just fine and drives forward and backward in the driveway fine. Battery level indicator is blue (see image). I checked for turbulence in the inverter reservoir with the engine off and fluid was flowing.
I checked the 12V battery (using the car's measurements by holding Display and turning lights on and off 3 times) and its value was 12.1 volts without engine and A/C on and 11.8 volts with them on.
The fan in the back right passenger seat is always on now though (I don't remember ever hearing this fan noise before), regardless of engine on or not, even though it's only about 80 degrees outside and it's been sitting idle all day and all last night. It comes on pretty much immediately when the power button is pushed.
2005 GX470.After returning home my wife parked the GX470 in the garage. She returned 30 minutes later and noticed the headlights were on. She also noticed the immoblizer light was blinking.
We always keep the headlights in the "auto" position. Headlights staying on is a little strange. but I recall the lights staying on once or twice before. Immoblizer light flashing has never happened.
I inserted the key and turned to start the car and the light went out and the GX started fine. Once I remove the key, the light starts blinking again. I tried this with both keys to make sure it wasn't a transponder issue--all keys did the same as above.
I checked battery voltage--12.4v. Charging--13.6v at idle Some light corrosion around the negative cable but not too bad. cleaned anyway Wife did say she came out of work and noticed that two different car alarms were going off that were right next to her car. Possible kids messing around. Maybe our car was going off as well?
I have done 2 searches but came up with nothing regarding a 2010 LS 460L. My security system indicator lights are flashing 24/7 regardless of the car being locked or not. Page 113 is not very clear about how to shut them off. I played with so many buttons yesterday after we got home with the car I may have triggered something without even knowing it. I do not recall that they were doing that yesterday when we picked the car up.
View 13 RepliesAbout 2 months ago, I had the battery replaced in the key fob just because it was over 2 years old. Today my first messages I get is "key not found". Key is in my hand. Then the next message is press start button with key fob. Finally got the car started. Is this a sign of bad battery in fob or something else?
2013 Limited
After setting the climate to 70F, Auto, and driver controlled for all occupants, start-up volume adjusted, e.t.c, I press the "STORE" button under the user profile settings. The key has been synced.
Every time i start the car up, it maintains these settings. If I press the big round knob on my name, it goes to these settings (my name, and assigned key icon)
However, if Im driving, and lets say, i adjust the temperature to 76F, then maybe later starts to get too hot, or cold, and I want to go back to my stored setting, it does not, it just stays on the new temperature. If I change the temperature manually again (2nd time), and I press the stored setting, it goes back to the setting i just had, which should NOT be stored. It usually just ignores the stored setting.
I also noticed that you can either press the large round knob, or the bottom right tap button where it says "SELECT" for your stored settings.
