How do you turn the maintenance required light off? I know how to do it on my Camry but can't figure it out on the Prius V.

I am just out of the dealer service period (2 years, 25000m). I took my Prius -v (3) 2012 to my mechanic. He did the oil and filter change, but could not reset the Maint Reqd light. It seems it is different from the regular Prius. I looked on the forum, and tried the suggestions, but none worked. It was supposed to be (with odometer showing).
Turn the “POWER” switch to ON mode. The multi-information displays initial screen will be displayed for a few seconds. While the initial screen is being displayed, press the “TRIP” steering switch (→P. 186) 3 times, pressing and holding the switch on the third time. I tried doing this both with my foot on the break and off, but all I got was a reset trip.
Prius V :: Maintenance Required Light Reset?
Got 14 Prius V back from first maintenance today and noticed the mechanic forgot to reset the light. So I called my advisor and she told me what to do. Here is process for others to share:
1. Set odo/trip to Trip A
2. Turn off vehicle
3. Hold down mi/hr-km/hr button on dash
4. While holding down button, turn on vehicle to ON state (Press Power button TWICE, but DO NOT press brake pedal - you don't want engine to start)
5. Wait while Maint Req light flashes, then goes off completely - about 4 seconds.
6. Turn off vehicle.
Prius (2010-12) :: Resetting Maintenance Required Light
Why this might not work suddenly in a 2014 Prius Five Advanced, where it always used to? Jiffy Lube couldn't reset it and nor could I. Followed the above to the letter. I have Smart Start installed, and the Pioneer Android Auto head unit. Would that matter?

I'm still trying to get a manual for my recently acquired 2004 Prius, so I can't trace down what this means....
When I start the car, recently, a "Maint Required" light comes on and flashes about three or four times, then goes away. This is after all the other dash lights during the test phase go out. When I took it to have the codes read, the device said "No Codes" stored.
What does this mean? And is it a serious problem?

Bought my Camry with 45k miles on it and just got the maint req'd light at about 50k. I picked up oil and a filter but it looks different than any filter I've ever changed. It has no canister and comes with a plastic nozzle looking thing and 2 O-rings.

The engine symbol (not the "Engine Maint. Reqd." light, but the actual image-of-an-engine light) has been coming on and going off for the past 3 months. The car has 76,000 miles and is in great condition overall. When the light comes on, there's no discernible change in the way the car rides or feels. Each time I've gotten close to taking it in for service, the light has gone off, so I've decided not to spend the money. Since the first time it came on back in December, I've put a bottle of fuel-injector cleaner in and there seems to be a correlation with the light going off again anywhere from 1 mile to 50 miles later.

My 05 corolla has a "maintenance required" light that has come on on the right side of my dash. I have taken care of the car and changed the oil every 3000 miles. I have changed the oil myself though so I don't have to pay 30 dollars for 8 dollars worth of oil.
