When I put my new Prius v in reverse and back it up, there's this infernal beeping *smile*. How can I turn that off?

Its annoying as hell. I tried the method for the gen II Prius I found here in the forum but it didn't work. I looked through the audio display unit for a way but couldn't find it. In the owners manual there is a "beep once option" in custom settings but its says it can only be done at the Toyota dealer. Do they need a scan tool to program it or is there a sequence of buttons pressed to change the function...

Why the continuous beeping in reverse? Wouldn't one beep suffice? My suggestion to the engineers would be...If you must have the car do something extra electronically while backing-up, have it mute the radio speakers. My guess is that more accidents would be prevented by the forced silence, than by the distracting beeping.

It has happened about 4 times. Most recently this weekend. Driving around the non-hilly part of SF. About 80deg, tried to back up to parallel park and had to push it in reverse 3x. Popped out twice after beeping and reversing for 2 secs, about 4 feet. Very slight hill going reverse- about 5 deg.

Last week I was told I needed a new engine battery because of low voltage. Later that day I put the car in reverse and it started beeping. I thought something was wrong because the battery that I've had since October 2008 didn't do that. I took my car back to the dealer to have it checked. The technician said that he couldn't change the setting. I also had 3 recalls fixed the day the battery was replaced.
What about the beeping when in reverse. Why didn't it do that with my original battery and why is it doing it now? Or could it be something else?

In my 2006 Gen 2 I got a sequence off of priuschat to turn off the beeping. The Prius C3 beeps with the door open (ok with that)..beeps with the lights on (ok I guess)...but when you turn off the car it beeps for no reason. How do I turn that off? I have a 2007 Prius 5 with 205,000 miles. Just recently, while Im driving the Red Triangle blinks on intermittently along with an annoying beeping. I took to dealer and they diagnosed error code C1300 which indicated that I needed a new "Brake actuator assembly with skid control ECU". I declined price tag because they said it's nothing critical (despite that it sounds rather important), and car will run fine without replacing this part. However, they said "nothing we can do about the intermittent red triangle and beeping".
Is this true? It's a very annoying noise. I know that it is possible to turn off the reverse beeping. Isn't there a fuse associated with "beeping" that could simply be disconnected?
Prius (Gen 2) :: Turn On / Off Too Fast Makes Beeping Noise Only When Door Is Open
I'm fairly certain it's not a dead 12v battery. If when I shut down the car after a drive and immediately turn it back on and off again it makes the beeping noise only when the door is open. If I come back to it, the car's dead. I've done this a few times, the last time was in a parking lot and I was surrounded by cars so I had to jump it from the back.
The only fix I had figured out to avoid coming back to a dead car was to put the car in to gear, either reverse or drive and engage the throttle/roll the car maybe 10-15 feet, then back into the spot and shut it off. Is this normal and is it because I've shut it down too fast before letting it start back up?

Something is awry with my 2008 Prius. It started a couple of weeks ago when I was starting to back out of my parking place at the P.O. When I put the car into reverse it immediately went back into Neutral. I tried several times to put it in drive and reverse but it kept going back into neutral, I also tried turning the car off and on to no avail. Eventually it would not go into Park and had a warning that the batteries would not charge if the car was not in park. This happened about 4 times in a matter of weeks and then last Saturday (I went to get ice, I live in AZ) the car would not go into drive and did not appear that is was going to go into drive. It ended up that I was able to drive the car home (without the A/C running) by holding the shifter down in drive manually. Ice melts real quick in 100+ heat!

My 2012 F-150 has the back up camera, and the warning system that beeps with increasing frequency when you're backing into something.
It's worked flawlessly, however the last few times I've started and put it in reverse, it starts beeping constantly although there is absolutely nothing back there. Having been on this forum for probably 3 years, I don't recall this system ever being discussed.
So, where is the sensor located? I looked all around the obvious places, like under the rear bumper, and don't see anything. Is it part of the camera
system?
Secondly, what could make it beep when there is nothing there? Yes, the tailgate is up, and there is nothing in the hitch that might trick it. I'm thinking
dirt on a senor.
