Found quite a few posts from GIII owners scratching their heads over this one, but haven't seen it addressed.

View 3 Replies2004 UK Prius. My key fob won't open the car. I can open using the key in the side of the fob but then I can't stop the alarm?
View 7 RepliesThis has been happening every once in a while and it has me puzzled. Sometimes my fan dosen't work and no air comes out of the vents whether on low med or high. It like the fan is broke.I will leave it on any speed and not air will come out but usually within 5 minutes or so it will start working. It happens out of the blue and I cant seem to figure out why or what conditions make this happen. I am a car guy and do all my repairs but I have not ever had a car with a touch screen HVAC.
View 14 Repliesthe outlet in the dash is not working but the one in the arm rest is where is the fuse panel for the inside connection?
View 10 RepliesMy clock and mph kmh buttons are not working, I'm guessing it's a fuse but I don't know where to locate it, everything else seems to be working fine in the car. It's a 2013 Prius 2
View 16 RepliesI bought this 2004 Prius in 2010 with 104K miles. Now at 117K. When outside temp goes to 86 F or above, the a/c blows warm air. If I stop A/C for a while, and restart it, it will blow some "cold" air for 10 seconds, then back to "warm" again. at below 82F it seems work normally, although I never felt "cold" enough like my other car Lexus LS 400 1998.
My mechanics found (using his diagnostic device) that the thermometer temp measure indicate as 28F when outside was at 90F. He can not figure it out. Is it possible that temp sensor (thermometer) gone bad? Or it is just a loose connection which might cause the resistance value change? He added enough refrigerate fluid for the car.
I noticed in glove box there are evidence of glue used. I suspect that the car had some body damage on right side and being fixed.
Anyway, the a/c problem so far happens consistently at around this temp. I have no any other problem on this beautiful car.
Driving home tonight...noticed SOC was PINK...2 to 1 bars. First thought was the HV FAN...!
I JUST did the HV fan maintenance the other day and I'm certain I buttoned everything back up correctly..... There are only 2 connections to the fan that I unhooked and then rehooked back up...... I'll re-open tomorrow to check for loose connections.
Is this symptomatic of the fan not working? and Is there any way I can test the fan?
I've driven the car for about 200 miles in the 4 days since the maintenance but I rarely keep eye on SOC so I'm not certain what it's been reporting thru that period...Just looked tonight for some reason. Maintenance light has been on for awhile before I performed this ....but I'm guessing that's just Oil change needing to be done.
At the moment my remote will not lock or unlock the vehicle, although the indicator light on the remote lights up on key press. ( this vehicle is not equipped with sks ).
This is a brand new key Fob (under a month old) as I had the old one replaced under warranty. I can still start the vehicle by placing the remote in the dash as usual, only the buttons don't work. It worked perfectly fine this morning, so I am not sure what the deal is.
Recently replaced:
-Key Fob itself ( about a month ago )
-12 v battery ( about 4 months ago )
- combination meter ( about a month ago )
Looking for the answer to this question. This could possibly save me some money.
View 19 Replies'05 Prius "smart" key does not work in the auto - open, lock, start, etc mode. Is this a battery problem? The actual key when pulled out of the case, of course unlocks the doors and will start the car when in its case.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2012 C 3, with 27K miles. This morning on the way to the store i turned on the heater and the fan turned on and after like 2 mins the blower stop working. All the lights are on, but nothing comes out of the vents under any circumstances. I tried taking of the ECO mode, I tried turning the car on and off. still nothing.
If I bring it to the dealer will they fix it under warranty? Could it be a bad fuse? where is the fuse box? What could it be, its freezing outside and I need heat for the kids in the car.
Recently the keyless entry buttons (lock, unlock, panic) buttons stopped working. The red light still came on (strong), but car wouldn't unlock. The key still works for starting the car, but having to use the manual key to enter.
What I have tried:
Ensured this is Option Package 1 car, no push button to disable the SKS from under the dash Tried the reprogramming steps here in this post (though I would say they are not 100% clear) Read the owner manual pages 20-40 Gave up and spent $5 on another CR2032 battery (did not work).
I have a 2009 Prius with NON HID headlights. The left one appears to not adjust properly. If I remove the bulb boot, the light bounces up and down (the part that is supposed to adjust). When I turn the adjuster, it will wiggle down then up again, like it is not engaging the screw inside... Also, when I hit a bump, the left beam bounces. The main housing is secure, just the inner (adjustable) one is not.
View 5 RepliesAbout 65000 miles on 2013 P3. Just noticed today the engine brake appears to not be working. Was driving down expressway and the car rolled almost like it was on cruise control when I took my foot off the gas. Rolled about half mile before MPH even dropped. Tried the engine brake and the B lights up but not braking. When I got to destination I shut it off for about 45 minutes and tried it again. This time everything seems normal except no engine braking when put in B.
View 3 RepliesSeveral weeks ago, the blower motor in my 2010 stopped blowing. It came on within a day or so, but failed again, so I replaced it with a new part from Rock Auto: TYC 700249.
The new fan just stopped again. I plugged the harness in and out several times and it did briefly come on a few times, but clearly something else is going on.
I don't know if it's relevant, but after I took out the OEM fan, I experimented by removing the plate from its back that has wires and capacitors (actually, I don't know what I'm talking about) and connected the main prongs directly to a 12V battery. It came on right away. I installed the new fan anyway, figuring it was the plate/wires assembly portion that was bad. The "resistor?"
I'm a new owner of an 05 Toyota Prius. Im loving the car so far, however, i am having an issue with my high beams not working. After doing lots of research it looks like the high beams on the Prius comes from the same bulb, what controls the high beams is the reflector.
My low beams and all other lights are working fine. After removing my bumper and looking through all the wiring I have noticed that their are two plugs that are not attached to anything. The lights look brand new, so my thoughts are that this car had HID lights and they were then replaced to non-HID lights.
How to get the high beams working. I don't see any HID ballast anywhere, so converting it back to HID would be costly since i would need new headlight plus ballast and bulbs.
I tried looking for wiring diagrams but can seem to find any.

I recently noticed an issue with the Power button. I had just pulled into the garage and closed the garage door. I was talking on my phone so I didn't get out of the car immediatly. The garage door opener's light went off after a few minutes and that is when I noticed it. My headlights were on but the light that iluminates the power button at night was not on. I turned the car off and turned the lights off, but the light that normally illuminates the power button was not working.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2007 Prius 2, the key will not open the doors, so I went to the store replaced the remote battery but it is still not working. The light on the remote lights up as usual. I can get in using the small metal key, the car starts and everything seem to be working fine with the smart key plugged in. The 12v battery seems to be fine as all the lights work when the car is off. What this might be?
View 5 RepliesOne random day the back light on my 10 Prius III touch screen went out, so can't use features effectively. Screen does a QuickFlash when I turn the car on and most of the functions work on screen when I get lucky enough to touch the right spot. Radio works. CD check! Nav works, just can't really see it. Warranty is long past expiration.
View 2 RepliesOK I think my 2004 Prius is haunted.
Last week both brake lights (just the upper, red part) stopped working.
A day later the right/passenger side light came back on.
Then the next day, the left/driver side light resumed working too.
Today both went out again.
Then the right side came back on.
