View 2 RepliesSo I had my hood open to check my oil, not a big deal for a 2001 Jetta 1.8t. When I shut the hood, the car decided to simultaneously lock, and now the horn/alarm is going off and the key fob won't unlock the car or disable the alarm. And the keys don't work in the door/trunk so I can't get inside. What I should do?
View 5 RepliesI own a 2010 model III Prius and the reverse beeping is driving me crazy. How to disable the beeping without visiting your Toyota dealership?
View 3 RepliesDisable the beeper when put into reverse on your 2010 model? I did it on my 2005 model very easily, but cannot find the steps to take for various changes on the 2010 models.

View 2 RepliesI picked up a bluetooth OBDII scanner and plugged it up, and tried following the instructions found on this forum. Only problem is, every time I run 3b ac 40, I just get a return of NO DATA.
View 2 Replies2013 Prius is there any way to disable the traction control. Trying the push start button 2 times and push gas pedal 2 times etc. method wont work on this year.

View 19 RepliesBeen searching around for a while, how to just disable the alarm on my 97 Explorer- I don't need or want the alarm, period. Every time I accidentally unlock the door with the key, the alarm goes off- and I accidentally hit the panic button in the dark at 5AM the other day, neighbors loved that. Just want the alarm gone, and be able to use the key or fob as I like. Has to be a way?
View 2 RepliesInstalled new motor in 2000 celica gt after blown piston on monday the 17th. From monday 17th to thursday night on the 20th the car battery and alarm worked with no issues.
I was installing the touchscreen and sub in the car the night of the 20th and when i pulled the positive terminal from the battery to power the sub, then reinstalled the terminal but the alarm went off and would not disarm via the remote (that has worked for several years before the repair job). I tried replacing the battery but still nothing. i even check voltage on the remote board to verify output voltage when button was pressed.
I called Audiovox and they had me remove the 10 pin connector to disable the alarm and that worked. i drove the car home the night of the 20th. the morning of the 21st the car started fine and the audio system was installed and working.
The afternoon of the 22nd i went to start the car and it was dead. I have tried disconnecting the audio system to check that but the battery still dies overnight.
I used a amp meter to check the draw on the battery on on saw .94 amp with the door open and light on. i saw .14 amp's with the door shut and no light. This just doesn't seem like enough draw to drain the battery but i still have to pop the clutch in the morning to go to work.
I have noticed that my drivers door does not lock using the controls inside the car. I do not know what kind of alarm system is on the car, it has no markings on the case or the board itself. the serial number did not pull a single result in google. I called audiovox because that's who makes the shock sensor on the car, they say its universal.
I was moving something this weekend and could not close the trunk all the way. The trunk / door open alarm was beeping the whole time. I was only driving 10 minutes or I swear I would have ripped the stupid thing out of the car somehow !!!!!!
Can this beep / alarm be disabled or set to turn off after 30 seconds like the seatbelt chime?
2012 Hyundai Elantra. My alarm goes off randomly. About 3-4 times a day. Is there an easy way to shut off the sound so it will never go off? Naturally, I don't want to lose any functionality of the remote/smart key or the push button start. Just to eliminate the beeps.
View 18 RepliesIs there any way to disable the alarm honk when locking the doors (2010 GTI)? The sound is obnoxious and I cannot stand it anymore. I took it to the dealer for my 90 day check-up and they said they cannot do it with this model.
I'm pretty sure it can be done with the VAG-COM........ but I don't have one. Is there a way to just unplug the unit that produces the noise.
Since my warranty has expired, I have had a problem with my alarm regularly firing after ~10 mins of the car being locked, regardless of whether I engage the alarm or just simply lock the car. I have brought the car to a dealer to troubleshoot multiple times and they can't figure out the issue. Is there a way to disable the alarm so I can still lock the car? Currently, my only workaround is to leave the car unlocked all the time.
View 9 RepliesI just purchased a 2004 Excursion and I want to disable the seat belt alarm. The truck didn't come with an owners manual so I got the manual from my 2005 and followed the instructions but it wouldn't disable the alarm. It worked fine on the 2005. Need instructions for a 2004?
View 9 RepliesAny way to disable the annoying seat belt alarm. I do wear my seat belt but I can't even get out of my driveway before it goes off, also if I drive one block to the store and don't feel like putting it on. I have tried the disabling procedure in the owners manual many times and it does not work. I have also tried other procedures posted on the internet and they didn't work either. If the alarm wasn't for other things like keys left in ignition, etc I would have cut the wires by now.
View 14 RepliesHow to disable the seat belt alarm on a 2008 Lexus RX 350? I tried the "reset odometer" method and that doesn't work. I also took the car to a Toyota dealer and a former Lexus technician could not disable it via computer. This alarm is annoying!
View 14 RepliesI just purchased a 2000 F-250 (extended cab, extended bed); it's my first powerstroke as I owned an IDI prior to its purchase.
- How do I disable the speaker for the door ajar/seat belt/low fuel alarm? IT HAS TO GO!
- Also as a new powerstroke owner, are there any spare parts/sensors, etc. that I should keep handy, just in case? (ie. I always kept a spare glow plug relay in the IDI F250)...
My neighbor just got something done to her old Ford Taurus, possibly a new transmission. The car now BEEPS LOUDLY when backing up. Why the heck is this happening? Could something from a service vehicle have been installed? She leaves early in the morning, and I don't want to be awakened. How can this be disabled?
View 12 RepliesI recently purchased a 2013 prius two. My building's parking garage is very long (full city block) and narrow, and I have to back out of it each time I leave. While I understand the benefits of the beeping, it is SO LOUD! Is there any way to lower the volume? I know I can take it to the dealer to get it switched to one beep, but all I really want to do is make it quieter, not go away. Alternatively, where the speaker the sound comes out of is? Maybe I can muffle it with tape or something.
