I have a 2012 Prius V station wagon and randomly when working in the garage I hear the car's rear fan?? come on and not shut off. I have to start the car in accessory mode or turning it actually on and then off again for it to stop.

I took it to the dealer and the work order said "noise suppression ordered" but then i went for the servicing over the weekend and the customer service was saying "the technician has to talk to the part manager to see when the part will arrive, could take a month since this is not a genuine VW part".. What a noise suppression is? that could mitagate/reduce or eliminate this weird clicking noise coming from rear randomly?
View 11 RepliesWhen I'm driving and come to a stop for at least two seconds, I hear a slight click/tap noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. Then as soon as I let off the brake, I hear the noise again. I can only hear it with the radio off, and I cannot seem to replicate it when my AC is running. I have Eco mode enabled too. I have no engine/warning lights on my dash, and have no reason to believe my vehicle has an issue; just simply trying to find out what the noise is.
View 2 RepliesMy wife has a 2012 Accent with 23k miles. Within the last few weeks she started having a clunking noise coming from the rear passenger side when going over bumps. I had some time to check the basics (loose lugs, broken exhaust bracket, spare tire, trunk lid, etc..) and have come up with nothing. I'm not very familiar with Hyundai's, but I wouldn't think there are very many components to the rear suspension other than struts that could be making a clunk like that. But with 23k miles, the struts shouldn't be bad.

View 2 RepliesI was driving down I-35 when all of a sudden I heard a loud boom sound and realized my rear driver passenger side window shattered and I was smelling a burning smell. I drove the vehicle directly to Don Ringler Service Station but they showed no concern or interest in looking into the issue and was told I would need to repair the vehicle at my own expense and never bothered to look into the burning smell issue.

View 6 RepliesI brought my prius v back to the dealer for the fourth time because of the groaning noise from the rear brakes. I was told that Toyota is aware of the problem and they are designing a new rear brake. They expect it to be ready for installation after January 1st, 2013. Let's hope it isn't too far after the first of the year.

I was driving home recently and heard a flapping type noise on the drivers side and thought something was stuck in my undercarriage or even in my tire and the wind was causing it to flap. I pulled over to check, saw nothing, so I kept driving home and stopped into my local Toyota and they didn't see anything loose or out of place. We went on a test drive and of course, there was no noise.
Later that night as I was driving, it started in the middle of my drive, I parked and when I drove again, no noise and I haven't heard it since; this was 3 days ago. I thought it was just at highway speeds, but I've heard it at different speeds.
Got home from work the other day, shut down my 2012 Prius 4 and went into the house. A couple of hours later went into the garage to drop a trash bag and heard a humming/whirling sound from the garage. Walked around the Prius and isolated it coming from the bottom rear of the car. Went and got key, turned the car on, then off again and the noise ceased. What that was? Fuel pump maybe? And why did this occur?

View 3 RepliesI bought a 2002, being a total new by I thought that faint humming noise was the electric motors doing , it's thing. Noise was faint when only me in the car or going slowly. Well as soon as I had someone sitting in the rear it was a loud humming droning noise that seemed to get quieter when making right turns like heavy off ramps at speed.
Finally jacked the car up and checked for wheel bearing noise. Fronts were too hard to check as there was resistance while turning wheel by hand, but the rear passenger seemed rough but no noise or looseness while turning by hand compared to the driver rear side.
It is gone at 120K. Thought it could be the tire, so rotated but noise still comes from driver side rear. Car is a daily driver but we do not live in snow belt, so cannot blame it on salt.
View 8 RepliesI have a 2012 f250 been in the shop 4 times for the traction control light just coming on randomly and staying on. they have flashed it changed something in the steering column forgot name of that and changed some sensors out. still does it. I think its a bad connection or bare wire is what I keep saying to them cause it only does it on rough roads and when its wet.
View 4 RepliesI am experiencing a buzzing rattle coming from the left corner of the dashboard in the area near the horizontal speaker. It's not loud but it's annoying. It only happens when the car is moving. It doesnt seem to be affected by the audio system being powered on or off. The best thing I can think of to describe it the sound a Geiger counter makes, but not as loud.
View 17 RepliesI have been getting increased noise coming from the back of my car for the past month. So I jacked up the car and spun the tires and heard grinding noises in the rear right. I have a 2012 ToyotaPrius plug-in with 33,000 miles. When driving the car around 40 miles an hour there would be a howling sound coming from the back of the car regardless of the type of pavement I was driving on.
So I took it to the dealer today and they had it up on the rack in about an hour later they came to me and said it needed new tires and it would be about $700 and that this was likely causing the noise. I said that there was no way that it was the tires so I went and showed the mechanic how old the sound was coming out of the back right wheel. He listened with his stethoscope on the wheel bearings and said that he did hear some noise in there but still thought it was the tires.
I seem to be getting a creaking noise (the same sound you get when you lean on the armrest) coming from the passenger side rear. It sounds like it is coming from the hatch, but I can't quite narrow it down. The creaking noise appears when I drive slowly over bumps.
View 5 RepliesHappened to go down to garage to get something from pip about 3 hours after charge was complete and noticed loud hum coming from right rear wheel well area.
We had not had any lightning storms, electrical interruptions or anything odd; house is on whole house surge protection, and 240v evse has been working fine.
Hum disappeared when car was booted up in ev for a moment and then turned off. Hasn't come back on in an hour.
The other day I reversed into a parking spot, and noticed as I was braking and reversing a loud clicking sound is coming from what seems the front driver side engine area. Every time I would brake it would click. I read of this problem on the Gen 6 and apparently there is a TSB for the front Rotors needing to me re-machined? The funny thing is this only happens when I reverse and brake, but it only happens randomly.
