Was talking to a cab company running over a hundred Prius, they like the gas mileage.
Biggest problem running a hundred plus Prius in LA is the skirt front bumper is so low to the ground (for better aerodynamics) ... less than 5 inches ground clearance when loaded ... it hits the ground and bows the side moldings of the bumper.
Yesterday I came home for 20 minute stop. I parked with my front end sticking out of the garage.. Big Mistake! My 10 year old daughter sees the garage open and hits the button to close the garage door and walks away. Worst part is! I could hear the door closing from inside the house and could not get outside fast enough!
I've spent the last 24hrs trying to find replacement parts on the net and all I have obtained is more confusion. Is it all one assembly or am I looking for multiple part numbers??
I recently purchased a Rear Bumper Protector for 2010-2014 Toyota Prius for my 2014 PIP. I thought I had it in the correct position when I removed the adhesive strips to install it but realized the next day that the curvature is not lined up properly causing a gap in between the bumper and the protector. My stomach sank when I realized this error.
View 8 RepliesI just bought a used 2012 pip with 26000 miles. I noticed that when I accelerate at the on ramp to reach the carpool lane, a noticeable vibration is felt from the front end of the car. The vibration subsides when I reach cruising speed. The steering wheel doesn't shake or vibrate, only the front end. I checked the tires and they look fine, they are the original tires that came with the car.
View 5 RepliesThis is driving me insane. I get popping and static from the front right speaker in my PIPA. It happens with the radio off. I can't make any sense of it. Happens typically at 30+ MPH. I know I will go into the dealer and they won't be able to duplicate it.
I have installed the nav bypass, but I don't think that could have any affect on it. I have also had side view mirrors and illuminated door sills installed. None of these have anything to do with the audio system.
Searched but couldn't find this topic..... My front power outlet won't work. I replaced the fuse, and the one inside the console works. I think I shorted something out trying to get a multi-socket device to work

View 1 RepliesAfter a short drive this evening (5 miles) in HV mode city 0-48mph driving I noticed a smell from the passenger front corner of the car. I went under the hood and looked and sniffed around. It is somewhere on the passenger side under the hood, but I did not see any fluids low or overflowing, and the oil looked normal. I just had my 15,000 mile service on Friday and only put on a few hundred miles since. I did not see anything dead in the radiator or under the car, and it is parking in a garage mostly.

View 4 RepliesMy 2012 Plug-in spontaneously started making a metal scraping/rattling noise in the middle of a low-speed drive around the neighborhood yesterday. Seems to be coming from the left front wheel area. I've checked thoroughly under the car and in the front wheel wells for anything that could be dragging/rubbing, and I can't find a culprit there.
It occurs while coasting in EV mode, so not ICE/exhaust related. The car doesn't pull to one side or the other. Only 9K miles, so I wouldn't suspect a hub bearing or any other significant wear to be causing this.
Possible clue or red herring: the dealer replaced the the left front tire and did an alignment two days ago, and the noise occurred within 15 miles of driving after that service.
I have a 2012 sedan. I am not sure what happened, I don't know that I'm getting the full story. I bought the 2012 Accent for my partner, I drive an 11' Santa Fe. Anyhow, the front bumper on the passenger side appears to be separating from the body of the car underneath where it clips in under the fender/headlight area. I snapped it back in and it appeared to be secure. Went out to the garage last night and, well... it's popped back out but looks worse than it did before. Is it just clips that hold the bumper on that could have broke? And if so, do I have to replace the entire bumper to correct this?
View 14 RepliesI have a 2012 SE v6 with 1600 miles on it. About a week ago, I noticed my bumper cover pulled away from the corner of the headlight and there was a noticeable gap. I pushed on it, and heard a click. The bumper stayed in place. After a couple days driving, it came loose again. I didnt touch it so the Service Writer would see it first hand. Of course, his first instinct was to puch on it, but I got loud quickly, so he kept his hands to himself, and heard me out. I knew if he clicked it back into place I would be SOL. He admitted something needed to be done, not just click it back.
When I picked it up, he said it was a known issue, and there is a TSB on it. He claimed they replaced a bracket. The invoice reads, "ADDED FELT TO TIGHTEN FIT". Yeah, Im sure that will hold just long enough for them to wash their hands of it.
Had a little accident with the '12 Passat and the front left side of the bumper popped out a little bit. I have very little experience working with the outer body of cars so I am a little bit hesitant about whether if I should just remove the entire bumper and readjust it, or is there a way that I can realign it without removing it entirely? Though I have no problem removing the bumper if needed.

View 12 RepliesI have owned a C for almost 8 months. Happy owner except for clanks that seem to come from front brakes when passing over bots dots or pavement imperfections. It has been that way since day 1.
I'm aware a TSB exists for Gen 3 Prius brakes but seems there is nothing for C nor any comment found in Priuschat from other C owners. I would wait the next scheduled maintenance unless it is a serious issue
After my 25k service it seems the timer scheduler when the square button is pressed/held flashes at 7am. When i press the H button the hour advances to 12am then closes. I want to start the charge at 12am and finish at 5AM. The timer windows closes when i move the finish hour to 12am and then my regular clock hour changes. It used to be when i pressed/held the timer button the start time would show at 12 am and after setting it would go to the finish hour.

I accidentally lost one of those metal nuts that goes underneath the bumper - its like a hexagon if I remember correctly. - I had to use a torque wrench to open them and there was like 8 or 10 total.

View 2 RepliesI have a rental 2012 Avalon for two weeks. Yesterday I noticed extensive scratches at the front/right corner of the front bumper. The scratches could be covered with two hands. Some scratches are as deep as the primer, but not on the plastic.
I am pretty sure that they are not there until last one or two days ( it has been raining, they would not be very visible when wet). The scratches looks kind of old, could it be that they were fixed in a substandard way so that they are washed off in the rain and became visible?
