View 2 RepliesThis is a simple post: Rear hatch won't open from outside; latch seems to be toasted. It can be released from inside, and will open then, as you imagine this is very inconvenient.
View 6 RepliesActually its inconsistent. Many times with the car running and in park, I jump out to access the rear hatch. Sometimes it will open and sometimes it will not. When it doesn't open, I have to turn off the car and then the hatch opens.
View 5 RepliesOver the weekend I installed a LOC and amplifier w/sub to OEM stereo in 2013 Camry SE. System has touchscreen and navigation. Prior to installing I disconnected the battery so I wouldn't have any surprises. Well, I got one anyway. After everything was reassembled, the car now chimes when the driver side door is opened (haven't checked passenger door) even when the key is out of the ignition. This happens even after remotely unlocking the doors. It looks like there is an option to remove door chime when opening the door. I know this doesn't apply to when leaving keys in car.
View 1 RepliesWill it drain the battery to leave the rear hatch open for extended time? i.e. for tailgating or camping (2008 Prius)
View 6 RepliesI bought carpet and loaded it into the PIP, needing to strap down the hatchback with the carpet sticking out.
As soon as I drove off both turn signals started flashing and a tone beeping.
The flashers stopped after a minute, but the beeping sounded all the way home.Very Annoying.
I have had this happen two or three times and don't know how to reproduce reliably. With my FOB in me, car beeps a few times when trying to open the driver's door. This is repeatable when in this mode; that is, trying to open the door produces few beeps but door will not open. The last time this happened, I clicked the open button in the FOB, and this produced the few beeps without unlocking the door. The passenger door opens, and my wife can unlock driver's door from the inside, and then I can turn car on and go as if nothing had happened. The best I recall this has happened in the garage. which is why the passenger door is unlocked, but don't know why driver's door is locked. Again, this has not happened enough to recall the pattern.

I notice when I go over expansion joints on the freeway with my window open I can hear a bit of a clank sound. I do not hear it with the windows closed.
Also it must be done at speed > 55mph.
I do have a trailer hitch but it seems quite tight.
Is this normal? Is it an issue I should bring up at the 5k service?
I got Prius 2013 with Advanced package (with Dynamic Cruise control etc.). I am having hard time starting the A/C remotely, even after I followed the manual. I pressed A/C button on my key fob, but the AC doesn't turn on.
View 13 RepliesWith the days getting shorter, I have been leaving the lights on when I park the car in my garage, and rely on the auto-shutoff feature instead. However, today I found out (after someone told me several hours later) that my headlights were still on. As far as I know, if I leave the lights on, turn the car off, and lock it, it should turn off within a few minutes, correct (previous experiences seem to indicate this is right)?
View 14 RepliesI never used the headlight before. Last night, I turned on my headlight, All the indicators like MPG indicators, EV,HV modes , etc. disappeared. Of course, it doesn't matter for my driving this PIP.
View 2 RepliesShut off the right front seatbelt beep? I asked Toyota, they will not do it. Do you need a OBDII II to do it?
View 1 RepliesI noticed today that my engine started up on an EV highway drive even though I didn't need it to. It came on somewhere between 65 and 67 mph when I was on a downhill portion of the highway and using only about 1/4 or less of my EV power bar. Why is the car designed to do this? Obviously I was well within the lowermost portion of the EV power band.
View 19 RepliesWell I have had my T-Reg for 24 hours and only have one issue. The rear window on the hatch will not open. We read the manual multiple times and it states you just unlock the hatch and than hold the button underneath the wiper and it should open. No luck. Looks like it could be some electrical thing.
View 1 RepliesHow can I manually open the rear hatch in my 2004 passat w8 wagon? When I got the car it would not open with the remote, but it would unlock with the key. Wife went to the store and the hatch wouldn't unlock. Key just turns. Feels like it is not quite catching to open up the lock.
This has now caused the doors to not lock and windows to not roll down, and no interior lights. Keeps blowing fuse 14. So how do I get I the lock mechanism on the hatch to get it open? Bentley is on the way, but can't be here soon enough.
Disconnected battery and all the switches in the dash, including on/off in glove box. So that's what caused the problem. Now to fix it. I re-connected battery and all switches, bit hatch won't open with key switch or any switches in car (at door or in front dash). I did manual open and close without any result., the button in glove box is pushed in.
View 3 RepliesWith the doors unlocked, I can hear the lock mechanism moving when I press the door release button. The hatch stays shut.
The hatch also doesn't open from the inside, using that recessed slider thingy.
So the electrics seems OK, but the mechanical part of it isn't working properly. It was working perfectly the day before.
I have a 2007 Santa Fe and the rear hatch wont open. When I pull on the handle it doesn't seam to click or engage with anything. I'm in a remote area and would like to try and fix this myself.
View 1 RepliesOn my 04 'reg the rear hatch stopped operating suddenly. I tried the manual release etc and no go. I can hear the mechanism activate when I push on the hatch mounted release (sounds normal) but the door will not budge.
View 1 RepliesSo I hooked up to the camper on Friday, threw some gear in the back off the Ex and hit the road. 4 hours and a couple hundred miles later I set up the camper and tried to pop the rear hatch. It's a no-go. It appears that the passenger side latch is releasing but the drivers side is not. My tool selection is limited since I'm on the road, any tricks to get the hatch open? Probably just deal with it till I get home since I don't want the reverse problem and not be able to get it latched again.
View 3 RepliesI was able to unlatch the two white hooks attached to the back of the rear seat and lift the rear seat up to about 45 degrees. What about the front?
