View 5 RepliesHaving issues with their navigation screen in the '14 IS. Twice now in the last week, while driving, it has reset. The screen goes black, music/radio turns off, and then everything comes back up after a second or two like nothing happened. Also, probably just a coincidence, but both times it happened in roughly the same location on my drive to work.
View 14 RepliesI had my headlights on last night and while I was driving through a few small tunnels my dashboard and Navigation lights went so dim....basically black.....I could barely see anything on them. What is this and how can I fix it?
View 11 RepliesSo I got my car today (2005) and I love it! I have some questions about it. When I was driving back from the dealership, I was watching the energy screen. The temperature was about 28F and it was mostly highway driving between 65-75 MPH.
During the drive, I kept noticing the yellow arrows flashing on for 500mS, then go off, then come back on in a few seconds. I wasn't able to keep the yellow arrows on consistently. There didn't seem to any sequence to it, it just seemed random. The battery never dropped below 7 bars except when I was going slow and it was always green when I was going slow. Also, the only time the battery went to 8 bars was when I braked hard and that was one time.
I would have thought the car would have used more of the battery to assist but at the same time my MPG was over 50 (51.1 to be exact) so I'm thinking this is normal. Is it?
I have a 2010 prius and today when i was driving the car it started shaking every time I brake and after a little bit. I realized that the car was having trouble shifting from battery to engine and engine to battery and once the battery runs out the car shuts off and when I start it again it starts in engine mode and charges the battery..
View 7 RepliesI can change my nav system radio for just a radio? I am not smart enough to make the nav work and the light from the backup camera wipes out my night vision.
View 2 RepliesYellow brake light turned on while driving in rain, then for some reason turned off. I had read somewhere this may be an indicator of wear on brake pads. I have a 90 mi. commute round trip, I will check again if this turns on and stays on. For now, it is off. what could be causing this?
View 1 RepliesHaving issues when driving the Nav Screen will like flash a blue screen for like 1 sec.
View 10 RepliesSince dec 31 my Nav screen goes black while driving, they only way i can bring it back is by shuting down and restarting the engine. But keeps doing it. Took it to deal they said they rebooted whole navi system but still doing it.
View 13 RepliesJust picked up an '05 with the Nav/ML. Everything seems to work, but the navigation screen is painfully slow to update while driving. Sometimes I will be several blocks (1/4 - 1/2 mile) before it catches up with where I actually am. This doesn't seem normal, but figured I'd ask here... is this normal?
View 12 RepliesWhen driving on a highway, the navigation map goes into a split screen, showing info on upcoming exits. For some reason, the screen does not show major highway exits. For example, when driving to work I pass the Mass Turnpike exit which is exit 22. But the exit screen ignores this exits and goes from exit 21 directly to exit 23. It does not seem to recognize exit 22. I noticed this is true for all major highways such as I95 and I495. I'm not sure if this is controlled through one of the setup options, but I can't find anything on it.
View 2 RepliesScreen go black, radio shut off, then reset itself while driving over and over again. Have the car parked and radio stays on after you pull the key and set the alarm. And the final piece, the alarm goes off three times no lights flashing then stops sitting in a garage, not outside. Is this a short ? I have two brand new batteries, new starter new altenator.
View 8 RepliesI've got a '99 Camry 4 cylinder 5 speed manual with 155,000 miles on it. Yesterday, while driving it turned itself off. The first time, I had just pulled out of a parking lot and was accelerating moving at roughly 35 mph. It turned off instantly without any unusual noise or hesitation and within two seconds was right back on. The next time, the engine was up to temperature. I was doing about 5-10mph just as a light turned green. That time I had to restart it with the key. Everything sounds and seems normal up until it dies. Where to start looking for the problem?
View 6 RepliesI got Honda CRV 1998 When I am driving the engine turns off and I have to wait a while to start it again and then i start again but It always like that off and on the engine. I got gas pump, Spark Plugs, and radio fan changed but It still off and on like before.
View 13 RepliesI can be driving down the road and "blam", the "check parking assist" comes on my nav screen. This message screen comes on and goes off all the time. It comes on when I am not around anything close. I had the parking assist sensors checked and every thing checked out OK. Could this a an electrical problem? If it becomes irritating, I just turn the parking assist off.
View 3 RepliesAlright so this has happened a couple times I don't know what to do and what its from ... My car will randomly turn off while driving! it will beep 3 times and turn off all the dash lights come on and it turns off! and if the radio is on it will turn on it off over and over... But if I turn the key to off and turn it back on it will start right up... What could be causing this problem ?
View 4 RepliesI have a 2008 manual Honda fit that will turn off while I am driving and am in neutral or the clutch is all the way in. It only turns off when the car is cold or it is raining, but doesn't do it every time I start driving. I live in Seattle so it does it all the time because it rains all of the time. I can restart the car while it's rolling as long as I keep the clutch in. When it turns off it, the oil and battery lights turn on. Why does my car keep turning off?
View 4 Replies2002 B5 1.8T, 54,000 miles. When you turn on the A/C it blows hot air. After 10 or 15 minutes of driving it turns icy cold then sometimes returns to hot air.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2001 Golf 1.8T and while driving the oil pressure light turns on and the meter goes beyond the midpoint. I brought it in to a shop and they told me I need to change the oil pump and will cost $900. They told me it's because I don't frequently change oil and once the new oil is in, it caused the problem and only way to drive the car again is to replace the oil pump.

About two weeks ago I was told my tires were worn and I was experiencing what felt like a slight slipping sensation when turning corners on the highway. Mechanic chalked this up to my tires being worn. They checked them out and my passenger rear tire was significantly worn on the inside tread...
I replaced all four tires...I have checked the pressure and it is at 30psi as indicated on the inside of the driver side door.
Now when I'm driving on the highway I experience what can be described as a rocking sensation (as if you were on a boat) sometimes when driving straight and almost always when making left turns....once the rocking starts if I slightly turn the wheel to the right it goes away.
I'm thinking something with the rear passenger side is causing this as the compensation would appear on the drivers front (correct?!) and the worn tire gives it away...just wondering what component I should start looking at first and what cost I might be looking at.
I have a 1999 Honda Accord that keeps turning off while I'm driving it. It has been doing it for a couple months now. Sometimes, it shuts off when the car is idling or stopped at a traffic light. Other times, it turns off while driving at cruising speed. When it turns off, electrical devices still function, ie. power windows go up and down, radio works, lights work...
I've replaced a couple different parts to try and fix it, but no luck as of yet. So far, I've had the following parts replaced: the main relay; the ignition coil in the distributor; the module in distributor; and the air filter. I also had the spark plugs regapped, and I have tried driving with the gas cap loosened to see if there was a problem with a vacuum forming in the gas tank.
I have a friend suggesting that it could be the idle control valve or the throttle positioning sensor. Could the computer be going out?
