So maybe it is just my incompetence on this.... however, I was putting my second tank of gas in the 2016 and the Fuel Filler door will not shut...
Not only that but since the door will not shut, on my dash screen it keeps saying "Refill Ready" every 5-10 seconds.
Well, I suppose my '09 is starting to show its years. Stopped to fuel the other day, opened the fuel filler door, and it wouldn't remain all the way open. Get done, try to close it, and it won't close all the way either. I'm wondering if there are springs in the arm and one has failed/fractured?

Each time that I have gone to purchase gas, I have not pushed the reset button on the Consumption screen as I have wanted to keep a running average for mpg. However, the miles driven count since the last refill automatically goes back to 0 (again on the Consumption Screen) and then starts a new count. This is useful as I know how many miles I have driven since the last refill. Today, however, I purchased fuel and the count did not revert to 0. Has a sensor been damaged? Is there anything I can or should do? I know I could press the Reset button but that would be a last resort.

Nothing is displaying on the nav screen. I removed the MFD screen and inspected it can't find anything wrong with it the soldering looks fine. Is there anyway I can test the unit before buying one.

New MY2013 SE w/Appearance Package purchased Oct. 2012. Earlier this year the fuel filler door would sometimes stick closed; progressively got worse to where it would not open. Replaced under warranty.
Now starting to stick again and I expect it to worsen. Going back in this week for a warranty replacement fuel filler door.
Last week, our 2004 Camry's dash stopped displaying information - fuel gauge / speed / etc. two nights ago, I reseated a number of fuses, and it worked for a while, but stopped working again yesterday. All the fuses looked intact, even though some of the contacts were a little gunky. I cleaned them off, but it continues not to work.
Additionally, after reseating a number of fuses, I get 5 quick beeps when turning off the car, which may be coming from our aftermarket radio.
I read on another site last night to disconnect the battery, and that may reset the computer, and relight the dash. I did that, it didn't fix the problem, and afterwards when I started the car the idle was so slow the car wouldn't even stay running. After about 20 minutes, the idle was still very low, but the car would run. When I checked it this morning, it was idling fine, but the dash still wasn't lighting up.
The seatbelt lights and gear light up ok, but nothing else on the dash works. Battery, alternator, dash? What does this sound like?
A couple of weeks back out of the blue my Nav screen stopped tilting back and of course if it doesn't tilt back the door won't close. I did the Lexus Diagnosis on the Tilt and Close Switches and it turns out to be something in the 'Nav' unit. Of course Lexus doesn't sell parts for the Nav unit... just the whole thing.
Since that time I have spent way too much time on diagnosing it and I actually tried another used unit that has the same problem as mine. What I think that I have figured out is that the motors are ok but the control unit, a small circuit board within the nav unit has failed. The problem is that this unit has 2-3 IC chips on it and any way to repair this circuit board.
Any luck repairing these circuit board or am I stuck.... The I was able to retract the unit into the dash and the door opens and closes but it would be nice if it tilted as they had intended...
So I am having a huge problem getting mats that will fit. I ordered the 2012 Husky mats in gray about 2-3 weeks ago and received them a couple days later to find out the driver side mat did not fit due to the fuel filler handle cutout not being on the mat. So I contacted streetside and they offered to replace no problem. shipped them back, 1 week later get the 2nd set of mats, go to throw them in a before I even put them in I see the cutout isn't even there. Contacted streetside again and they tried to tell me they should fit. So I told them they didn't and if they can't supply me with the correct mats then I want the weathertech for the same price because I know they make these mats to fit the 2012. So I sent a picture of what I received and the picture on husky website which shows the cutout and they obviously had to replace them. The customer service manager contacted me this morning and says that Husky will be contacting me to get them replaced. Mind you the Model number on the box is the correct model number from the streetside website and the husky website for the 2012 model year. I'm extremely disappointed with this issue, how do the wrong mats come in the correct box 2 times.

Can this problem can be fixed by myself (I have some mechanical knowledge, which I reckon I won't need for this)? If so, what are the parts I need to get?
View 12 RepliesI removed one of the cd's out of the dash unit and the nav display screen remains opened and won't close. I tried turning the vehicle off and on, nothing happened, so then I attempted to remove the 2nd cd that was in the changer and it slides out, but immediately slides back in.

View 2 RepliesIs there a way to open the back door while the car is in ready? I don't thing there's a trunk release or the equivalent & touching the handle on the back doesn't work until I turn the car off.
Obviously, this is a good safety feature, but I'm wondering if there's a way to open the trunk without turning the engine off since 6 months of the year I keep the heater running in the morning as we're getting ready to leave the house (-14C or 0F forecast tonight, or what we call "spring weather").
Yesterday morning my wife's JSW TDI wouldn't stay on after starting it. The screen kept displaying, "Key not in range". I swapped keys and every one of them did the same thing. It doesn't have keyless start, so it's not that. It would start then shut off like an immobilizer issue. I disconnected the battery terminal and reconnected it and that fixed it...for now. I did some research and everything I've found said the cluster needs replaced. I made a video of the display and the car shutting down.

This happens once or twice, and then the car runs great. Sometimes the check engine light will come on, but I haven't been able to read the codes. The mechanic said that the car was driveable. I am curious for potential causes and solutions?

The info screen said "Pop up hood error", I asked the salesman about it and said that the car needs preparation and be reset....
I want to believe it but my mind is taking my opinion that something triggered the pop up hood pedestrian protection... maybe a little hit? I don't know.... and maybe the salesman is being honest and it is normal.
The bumper is all ok, no signs of damage, (the car arrived yesterday and my girlfriend went to take a look).
I have my home screen set to show audio on the left side, weather upper right and climate lower right. Even though the audio section is the whole left side of the screen, it does not display the artist or song information for radio stations. If I click on audio, though, then in the full audio screen (with presets, etc.), it does show the artist and song information. How to get the info to display on the home screen?

View 5 RepliesI recently purchased a used 1999 F250 Super Duty with about 150k miles on it. The truck runs great and I have no complaints but there are a few things that need to be taken care of. It looks like there is a very small fuel leak where the filler neck ties into the rubber hose that runs into the fuel tank. There is a thin film of diesel along the side of the tank, on the leaf spring, the air bag and various other places. Nothing is dripping. I want to drop the tank and replace the hose. The Haynes manual says to depressurize the whole fuel system--is this really necessary if I don't plan on doing anything to the system aside from dropping the tank?
View 2 RepliesThe OEM DVD player in my '04 started having problems with occasionally displaying a disc format error across the screen. The movie usually still plays, but the lettering is stays on the screen. If you go back through the menus it will sometimes go away or you just have to eject and reload the DVD. Now it does it pretty much everytime we turn the player on.
