View 6 RepliesThe passenger courtesy (in the bottom of the door) light bulb went out and I replaced it, and it still doesn't work. The same bulb works fine the driver side location. So i'm looking for the fuse, and can't locate it, anywhere. All the other lights and door functions work.
View 2 RepliesI was changing out to LED's but after I swap the bulb the light completely doesn't work .
View 7 RepliesI wanted to replace the bulbs in my map light but ran into some problems. I was able to remove the first see-through plastic cover on the light. Also I was able to twist one of the bulbs out of the socket so it was loose but there didn't seem to be a way to pull the bulbs out of their metal holders. I tried with medium to light pressure on the right side bulb and it slipped from my fingers and jumped back into the area on the other side of the metal holders. Now I can't see it or reach it. What do I need to remove to retrieve the bulb and how do I remove it?

View 1 RepliesAfter losing 4 bulbs trying to put the new light in from the bottom on my 07 Sonata's high brake light, I finally figured out, that if you take a dremel or other small cutting tool and cut of the tab on the bulb socket, the whole assembly will slide back into place from the top. Cut the tab even with the holes where the two wires go into the socket, and you should have no problems.
View 23 RepliesSo I finally figured out how to get the puddle lights out of my factory tow mirrors. I want to replace the bulbs with LEDs.
But how do I take this apart? Looks like the clear plastic lens is superglued.
I need locating the locking clips that hold the high mounted stop light assembly in place. Are there any diagrams?

View 14 RepliesI just finished replacing the instrument panel light bulbs on my 1997 Ranger XL, 2.3L, 2WD pickup. I wanted to share how I did this. First of all, if you never have done this before, go slow and take your time removing the dash panels as they are plastic molding and break easily. Allow yourself about an hour to complete the task. You will need smaller sized hand sockets to remove the screws. The very first thing you should do is remove the negative battery cable from the battery. This way you will not risk shorting out anything electrical as well as possibly triggering the airbag in the steering wheel column.
The key piece in starting the process is to remove the radio first and then central console panel that houses the radio. It pops out very easily by gently prying it out in the four corners. Once you get that piece out remove the screws the support the lower knee panel. In order to get that piece off you will have to remove the two screws the hold the hood release lever in place. Get under the dashboard and look up as you lay looking upward near the brake pedal. Pull the hood release lever and you will see the two gold screws. Remove them. This will free up the panel on the under side. The top side of the panel will pop out if you pry it gently on the top two corners.
Next, you will see a metal panel underneath the knee panel. Remove this metal panel as well. Now you will be able to remove the instrument cluster panel piece. There are some visible screws holding this in place, remove them and gently pry the cluster panel out. Once the cluster panel cover is out you will have to actually remove the gauge cluster itself by removing the the four screw bolts that secure it in place. After the screws are out, gently work it out of the dash slowly as you will need to disconnect three electric plug harnesses in the back.
After it is unplugged and out, on the backside of the instrument cluster you will see some round, black colored thumb screw bulb housings that house the light bulb. Just twist them and turn making sure to go in the right direction. Feel it out for the direction, I cannot remember which way it turns. The bulb housings are labeled "ILL" on the circuit overlay. I recommend you replace all the bulbs as you might not want to have to do this again in the near future. Once all the bulbs are tightly seated and installed just reverse the above process for installation. This is a fairly easy job and like I said it takes about an hour. Make sure you test the lights after finishing.
How to change my map light bulbs over the front seat of my new (to me) 2010 F250 King Ranch with a sunroof. I have tried to remove the whole assembly with a plastic trim tool with no success. I have pulled as hard as I dare and figure there must be a procedure I am missing. It appears to me that the whole assembly has to be pulled down.

View 2 RepliesI have a 2001 F150 Supercrew. On the passenger door, the courtesy light no longer comes on. It's the light on the door (not the doom light). If I open any of the other 3 doors, all of the lights come on including on the passenger side so I know the bulb is good.
I looked for a door switch, but did not see any along the door or frame of the door. How do I go about fixing this?
Went to start changing out my door courtesy lights to LED's today, changed the first one and it just flickered for a second when I connected it. I thought maybe it wasn't making a good connection so i made sure it was and nothing, flipped the bulb & nothing.
I went to the back door and tried the same and it worked fine with the led.
Took the front door courtesy light and swapped it with the trunk one to see if it would work and now the trunk one will not work either. no matter if Im using the normal stock bulb or LED, No power with a test light either. Fuses are ok.
The other 3 doors have power but not the trunk and front pass door, its like the circuit is dead there.
