I noticed on my Prius four there is a row of LED lights above each headlight. Do they come on? I can't seem to get them to turn on at all. The one parking light above the headlight do come on.

View 3 RepliesI have noticed that my headlights move differently each time I start the car and turn the lights on. Sometimes they simply charge to brightness, sometimes they rotate up and brighten and sometimes they rotate up turn side to side and then brighten. I thought there was some trick such as putting your foot on the brake before turning the ignition on means they will skip the full cycle but I tried all sorts of variation(on the brake off the brake, no parking brake etc.) when starting and nothing seems to affect the headlights consistently.
View 8 RepliesI recently installed a new car stereo in my 05 CRV to replace the factory unit which had a broken CD player. Everything appeared to go fine, but I noticed at night that when the Head Light switch was turned on, only the top half of the dash lights would turn on, the lights for the AC/Heater failed to light, and the PRNDD1D2 lights which work fine in the day (sans the drive light not working, but that's been the case for a year now) would turn off. I've checked the fuses and found no blown ones, although the fact that the top half of the dash lights still turn on made a blown fuse seem less likely.
The lights that are left on will still dim/brighten when the dimmer knob is turned, and I noticed that if I pull the small lights fuse the dash lights don't work, but the PRNDD1D2 lights remain lit even with the headlights on. I've tried removing and re installing the factory stereo to see if there was a short in the new wiring harness, but that changed nothing. As is the car is still drivable, as the top half of the dash lights is enough to make all the gauges readable, but it's still a bit annoying. Any clues as to what I've done, and is there a reasonably cheap fix to the problem?
Just installed DDM HID 35w 5000K. But strange issue. If I turn on HID first before start the car, one side turns off by itself in few seconds every single time. However, HID (both sides) stay on fine everytime (so far ) if I start the car first then turn headlight on. Could it be bad ballast or else?

View 4 RepliesA couple weeks ago I noticed the passenger side headlight would turn off almost immediately after I turned it on. After a couple hours of swearing at it/trying to twist it out, I finally pull the bulb and socket out of the metal retaining clips in one piece. I had to use a couple channel locks to get the bulb to twist out of the socket, and when I finally did I saw the socket and bulb were very toasty.
I cleaned up the socket, replaced both bulbs, and everything seems to be working fine so far, knock on wood. Any example of this kind of arcing between the bulb/socket? If this is a one-time thing, great, but I'm wondering if it's symptomatic or problems someplace else.
Here is the story, My HID headlights at 45k miles started to flicker and within seconds turn off. My only solution was to turn the lights on/off but the problem would constantly reoccur.
After calling the dealership and speaking to the morons there, I decided to replace the bulbs myself. I successfully replaced both hid headlight bulbs and the bulbs seemed to work perfectly. Sadly, the next day I realized that bulbs would still go out, sometimes the left side, sometimes the right side, sometimes both sides.
I was on the way home tonight and I noticed the driver side HID headlight turn off after putting my turn signal on.
I have LED DRL fog lights installed and they're wired with no relay and plugged into the Engine Compartment fuse box. The installer connected them on the left side (where the wires come in, from the two black components by the air filter).
Could this wiring setup be interfering with the HID's?
When I go through a tunnel or under a bridge with my headlights on the Auto setting the lights will turn on, but wont turn themselves back off when it is no longer dark.
View 6 RepliesI have a 2003 Honda Pilot with about 152,000 miles on it. Recently while driving if i have the radio on or have my ipod hooked up, the volume will turn all the way down and the dashboard warning lights will turn on. It only lasts for a few seconds at a time but it happens very randomly. Sometimes it won't happen at all and other times it will occur every few minutes or so.After the few seconds the volume turns back up to its previous set level and the dashboard lights go back to normal. The way the lights come on seems pretty random as well. Sometimes it will just be the "parking break" light and other times it will be all of the warning lights. I'm not sure what the problem is. Maybe a fuse is shorting out?

During day time, there would be times I would be waiting in the car in a parking lot for up to 30 mins and leave the car on, while I listen to radio and A/C on. I noticed the lights are exterior lights are on during this idling time. I then manually turn off the lights, but noticed I cannot turn off the Day Time running lights if the car is on. Is there a way, while the car is on to turn off all lights?
View 3 RepliesI have a 2005 Prius with 105K miles on it. It was working perfectly until one day, the dashboard lights didn't turn on. I messed with the switch to the left of the wheel just to make sure I hadn't touched it, and that didn't work to turn them on.... then I went to turn my car off and it just didn't turn off! I tried several different techniques, made sure it was in park and not in neutral, and it just wouldn't turn off.

View 13 RepliesAny way to turn off that annoying beep that happens when you turn the car off but the lights are on? This also happens if the sunroof is open. I have the lights set to turn off after 30 seconds and they turn off when I double click the remote anyways. The sound drives me nuts.
View 2 RepliesI just bought a Prius C Three on 4/5/12 and noticed there are fog lights installed on the car and yes have verified there are bulbs in the lights. After reading through the owners manual it shows how to turn these on, but my car does not have the added dial switch on the turn signal shaft where you turn the normal lights on. I have looked the car over completely to see no switch. Should I contact Toyota about this or something I would have to modify myself.
View 4 RepliesI messed up when jumping my car. Two fuses needed to be replaced, and also the fuseable link block. I've replaced those, but emergency informational lights are still on. I checked the areas: brakes worked, brake fluid okay, etc. So how do I turn off the lights? I know when I change oil, the maintenance light will stay on and has to be turned off ; so is there a way to turn off these lights/?
Also, do the diagnostic tools at Autozone work on hybrids? I've not tried it, but curious.
We just purchased a 2007 Prius. Above the driver seat and passenger seat are two interior lights in the ceiling. Our manual only discusses the main interior light in the middle. The separate lights have on and off switches but neither work.how to turn these lights on??
