Is it possible to replace my stock Prius 4 halogen headlight assemblies with the Prius package 5 stock LED headlight assemblies? Is the wiring the same or totally different? More trouble than it's worth perhaps?
View 19 RepliesMy husband is rebuilding our 07 Prius that has HID Headlights that were both broken and does not want to go back with HID due to cost. He wants to install complete Halogen Headlight assemblies from our parts car. He has rebuilt several Prius' for friends and family but has not done a change like this so he understands the basic differences but is stuck on the Wiring change to handle the low and high beam differences. Wiring is not his strong point!
View 19 RepliesHalogen Headlights keep failing on my 2007 Prius Hybrid. I'm starting a file on this because my headlights fail waaaaay too often. I first bought replacements from O'Rileys (don't know the brand) and one failed after only 3 months. . . they would not replace the bulb for free so I did buy one more bulb there. The next time I purchased two Philips bulbs at another parts store. The last ones I bought were from Napa Auto parts and I have to replace one of those. I am wishing I had kept better records because there have been more burned out low beam headlamps. . .never use the brights.

View 19 RepliesJust got a 2014 Prius Three. All my precious cars (non-Prius) had an automatic on headlight system, noticed the Prius doesn't. Can I just replace the turn signal lever with one that has the 'auto' feature? Could it possibly be that simple?
View 2 RepliesHave an '06 Prius, 154,000+ on it... A set of controls on the right hand side of the steering wheel have just quit functioning... controls the windshield defrost, the rear window & mirror defrosters and the inside/outside air circulation.

View 5 RepliesI have a 2013 III with 8k on the clock and discovered a few hours after washing it there was moisture in both of the tail light assemblies. It evaporated several hours later, which made me wonder if the assemblies were vented instead of sealed. Do they are sealed or vented?

View 3 RepliesI have a 2008 Prius pkg 6, passenger side headlight goes out, and then later comes back on. Went to parts store and they sold me a lamp to replace it with. Not only do I not know how to replace it, I do not know whether it is a Halogen or HID lamp?

Everything was great until I took a testdrive and noticed I was signalling MIR (or I guess the ISS this millenium) illuminating road signs very well, and the ground not so well...
View 2 RepliesI just replaced the head lights on my 2001 f250 it had the sealed beam one-piece glass headlights and I replaced those with regular headlights and when I went to get bulbs I found out after I get home the connector is different from the new bulbs. the new bulbs fit correctly but I can not hook plug them the plug has 3 connectors that have two connectors level and one is higher than the other two and the new bulbs the three prongs are level.
My question is. is there another bulb that will fit and plugin and if so what is the part number? is there a adapter that I can get that will allow the factory plug to work? or will I need to cut the old plug off and splice a new connector on?
He owns a 2002 W12 and apparently, within a day, dew appeared into his front right headlight and rear right tail light...
View 23 RepliesSo I think someone reset the headlights on my r32 with a different setting (previous owner) The h7 halogen bulbs do not come on while your driving regardless of the position of the light switch. was wondering is it possible to get a euro switch and program those H7 to be a fog light? I plan on doing a lot of winter driving when the time comes and having a set of yellow fogs support a ton.

View 12 RepliesI've searched many threads looking for a successful conversion of someone buying the OEM assembly including balasts and bulbs, housing, but nothing really shows if it's possible. I've only heard noise that either you can do it by buying silly aftermarket kits, etc. I've done the OEM change in my MKIV GTI before, but the T-reg is different and not sure it's plug and play. I found the complete assembly online with HID lamps 1st vw parts. They price each side at around $390 each. BUT my question is will they plug in and work? I have the VAG-COM so programming the car is not a problem. I've heard that I'd need a controller, but not sure if that's the case or not.

View 1 RepliesI have an '06 Toyota Avalon XL and I bought some Silver Star 9006 bulbs at AZ the other night, but when I got back home, pulled into the garage and popped the hood, I was amazed at how much of a PITA it looked to remove the low-beam bulb, especially on the driver's side. I'd hate to take it to the dealer just to get the frickin headlight bulbs changed.

Problem is that I cant seem to open the rear housing of the headlight on the drivers side to gain access to make the switch. The gearbox is right behind and there is barely room to get my hand back there. Is there some trick I am overlooking?

1st) What size bulb are the low beam (headlights)?
2nd) What HID kit would be recommended? I am trying to replace the halogen bulb with an HID bulb, a plug and play HID kit that will last but also does not reflect every where such as replacing reflectors with halogen to an HID kit.
