In the last couple of weeks I've noticed an occasional noise which sounds like a rock hitting the passenger side of the car. The first few times, that's what I thought it was, but it's now happened a couple of times while I wasn't moving, and today it happened while I was parked! what it is?
View 7 RepliesI have a 2005 1500 Silverado z71 that has started producing a squalling noise in the front pass side when hitting decent bumps during hunting season. This noise can also be reproduced when bouncing the pass front side. It has 99,000 miles. I'm assuming this is the front pass. shock. The truck came with Black and Red shocks. What brand is this? Also, from what I have read Blistens are most peoples replacement choice. I see they make a HD (4600) model and a (5100) model. My ride is stock height. If this is the problem and what brand/model to replace with? Doesn't Z71's have gas shocks and would this influence which brand to use?
View 3 RepliesMy passanger side blade has been hitting the side of my windshield randomly since the car was new. Wasn't able to replicate the issue at the dealer so I was pulling the blade off last night to investigate and broke the small square retaining clip (Red arrow). Do the clip assembly (Blue arrow) can be purchased separately or if I have to buy a whole new wiper.
View 4 RepliesHad my SE for nearly a year, love it, but noticed that when I hit a bump or pothole in the road with the right wheels, the car moves to the left and I to correct to center again.
It does not happen for the left side (or maybe I don't feel it as much).
95 Buick Lesabre 3.8L. After replacing a broken 6" swaybar strut on the driver's side I noticed a clunking when hitting bumps on the passenger's side. (These sizes are approximate). There is a large thick 2ft long by 4"wide bar behind the front passenger wheel. The bar has 2 large bushings on both ends. The bushings are about 2 1/2" wide. The rubber bushings and support screws or rods are loose. I suspect that this is a piece of subframe. Autozone said that they cannot get the replacement bushings. Where do I get these bushings and should I look for anything else that may be damaged or worn out?
View 1 RepliesRecently I noticed that my passenger and drivers side tail lights do not get brighter when I hit the brake. However, the center LED lights still are functioning properly. What might be wrong and how to fix it? I thought it might be the break light switch based on what I have read, but I would imagine that the center LED lights would be messed up too if that was the problem.
View 2 RepliesWe were driving on mt highway and ran over rock. Had the undercarriage checked immediately and mechanic spotted the mark inches from transmission but said all was fine. Last evening the engine began to run very rough and loud particularly when not accelerating; true even when idling/parked. Also noticing a small rattle that is infrequent and disassociated with any consistent pattern. We are in Taos Ski valley at about 8k elevation. Still have two weeks of vacation driving ahead of us.
View 4 RepliesLast night while driving in the ice and snow storm we had in the north east my passenger side wiper started acting funny was hitting the driver side wiper and not going full cycle. I think there is something wrong with the linkage,the driver side works fine bringing it in for service Monday.

I've done a lot of front end replacement on my 99 this year and have it better than its been in a long time. The truck still seems to wander a bit, but that's going to be hard to nail down and it's not that bad really. But something that concerns me is it always feels more unstable over bumps- and I've noticed that going over a small hill at speed when the truck feels light, that the wheel pulls a little to the right, and then when the weight shifts back down the steering wheel turns to the left. If I hold the wheel lightly with my fingertips, the wheel will rock from side to side and back to normal. However in traffic when you have a firm grip and don't let the wheel move on its own then the truck shifts more on the road. Quick bumps don't have as much affect as small hills do.
View 4 RepliesReplaced the main battery replaced 12V battery. Drives great except for the whining on the driver side and the occasional shutter at take off and while driving. Triangle is on and stays on engine light and now break light. Topped the break flood off. Cleared codes and the brake light came back on. Drove it home from Atlanta drove just fine. Lights just freaked me out though.

A year ago I heard occasional metal grinding noise coming from the front, sounding like front driver side. Sounded like CV joints that I heard before. The mechanic said it's transfer case/transmission problem, so I replaced the transmission but the noise came back a few days later. The mechanic said to drive it for a while and the noise may go away, if getting worse he can fix it since it has 2-year warranty.
Now a year later the noise becomes predicable and easily reproducible, I went back and asked them to check. They said it may be passenger side axle. I am feeling being manipulated.
Noticed a noise that begins upon opening the passenger door? It lasts for about ten seconds then stops. Is it by chance a battery ventilation fan or something related? Just curious.

The noise is best heard at 1:00 onwards, after everything else has stopped. I left everything else in the recording, the volume level relative to the engine etc.
For the past year I would occasionally hear a wind noise from the backseat on the passenger's side. It seemed to coincide with acceleration so I figured that a seal had come loose. I took it by the dealership but they couldn't figure out what was wrong. A few days later, I heard the same noise but for the first time ever, it actually got louder when I was stopping so I figured out that it wasn't a seal.
I was lucky enough for the issue to keep going even when I parked so I found out that it was air being forced out from the A/C system(from vent near the seat cushion). What would cause this? I almost might think something wasn't grounded properly. I had another weird issue like this(not air but intermittent) on my old Jeep and it ended up being a grounding issue.
Having issue with an occasional whistling noise. Mine seems to happen once I get to 80km/hr(50mph) or above. Seems to be coming from the drivers side area around the side mirror or windshield frame. Being winter the windows and sunroof have been closed and it doesn't seem to be consistent so it's hard to figure out what could be causing it.
View 16 RepliesI seem to be getting a creaking noise (the same sound you get when you lean on the armrest) coming from the passenger side rear. It sounds like it is coming from the hatch, but I can't quite narrow it down. The creaking noise appears when I drive slowly over bumps.
View 5 RepliesTonight I left my wife in the car as I ran inside a store, when I returned she said the car was making a weird noise. I didn't hear it until later after we were moving, but she was hearing it sitting still, no engine idle (battery at 5 bars) but A/C was running. I am suspecting maybe it has something to do with A/C.
The noise sounds like a low grumble rubbing. She said at first she thought someone was rubbing something against the car. But it seems to be coming from the passenger side dash, like behind the top glove box.
I've been noticing "Hissing Noise" coming from the rear passenger side (rear right hand side) of my 2011 Prius for a few days now. It sounds like the hissing noise is coming from the vent that's located on that side. Not sure what that does, but the hissing noise is usually present when I'm driving at 10MPH or up and it's gone when I'm less than 10MPH or at a complete stop. I have about 32K miles on the car.
View 7 RepliesOver the weekend I discovered that the rarely used front passenger's window makes a consistent, continuous, low-pitch grunting noise while being raised up. You know like the motor is about to give up. It hasn't slowed down compared to the driver's window.
View 1 RepliesI get a clunk noise when stepping on and releasing the brakes occasionally but not always. This occurs even with the engine off and the vehicle stationary. I also hear some other noise like some sort of vacuum servo thing is happening.
View 4 RepliesI've made a video of the pumping sound in that seems to get "stuck on" repeatedly at occasional times while the car is in operation or at idle. What it is and if it should not be going on like this without stopping? The car is a 2004 Canadian model, assuming it has the coolant thermos.
