Is there any way to make the power mode default when I start up?

View 3 RepliesI just bought a 2013 model RX350 about two weeks ago.
I am wondering why does my car default to 4th gear even at a stop when put into Selectable Gear Mode; I would think it should be in '1'. Is this a faulty vehicle requiring some fix?
In other brand vehicles I have driven, shifting into S-mode at standstill puts it in '1'. At highway speeds, it would be '6' and at intermediate speeds it will be some number in between. I can then upshift and downshift from that number as I would change gears in a manual drive car.
Is that kind of "manual simulated" driving feasible or advisable in the RX350 with the default 4th gear behavior? I have not dared to try starting from the '4th gear' for fear of ruining anything.
My auto transmission in my 2007 Elantra with 125,000 miles went into default mode, stuck in 3rd gear. No codes went off. I drove it home this way, but after sitting for 90 minutes, now it works fine. I've heard about the input and output sensors. What should I replace? I went to HMA service to get info on both sensors, but it wasn't detailed enough.
View 3 RepliesEach time I turn on the A/C, the fan seems automatically to be in the highest position even though the inside and outside temperature is only one or 2 degrees apart. Can this be changed? I know I can manually slow the fan down but seems like i have to do that every time I start the AC.
View 19 RepliesI have the Gen3 with auto dim mirror. The factory default is ON everytime the car starts. I prefer to keep it at Off by default because it is too dark for me during day time. I may be misreading the instructions Page 93 on the Owner's Manual and I can't get it to stay on Off by default.
View 2 RepliesIs it possible to leave the audio screen on all the times. Usually it is the map that is always on, and when I press the audio button, it reverts back to map after a few seconds.
View 3 RepliesCan the dealer change a setting so that the car starts up in PWR mode, assuming I turned it off when in PWR mode? It seems to work that way for ECO mode, but not PWR mode.
View 2 RepliesSeveral time lately I've gotten in to go to work and the battery shows for half sometimes 3/4 of charge, but it will not go into EV mode. But I can be in town driving and it will go into EV mode with only 2 bars of charge. Whats up with that.
View 19 RepliesHow to change the default value to something higher? 200 is the default. I would like to increase it to 500.
View 5 RepliesWhenever I start my car the default screen is the map, whether I am using nav or not. Is there a setting somewhere where I can make the audio the default screen?
View 4 RepliesFor the second-generation Prius : I was wondering if there is some way to make the screen stay on the mode that you are in and not switch back to consumption/ energy by itself all the time? For example you push audio to see the radio station info or the CD track info and it will stay in audio mode until you change it. Or if you want it to stay in climate mode and not Have it change back to energy/consumption after about five or 10 seconds.
View 2 RepliesI am having my Prius 2013 for a couple of weeks . what would happen if I'm in EV mode and need to accelerate (through an intersection for example) but the engine doesn't start ?
View 11 RepliesI'm still thinking about buying a 2010 Prius. I'd like to know: Suppose I want to, in the morning, move the car from my usual parking spot to another area of the apt. building's parking lot until I leave for work later on. So I would back up a few feet, then slowly drive about 150 feet (at most) to another parking spot. When I press the Power button, does that automatically start the engine (ICE), or can I move the car all in EV mode?
View 19 RepliesI have a Viper SmartStart and sometimes forget to turn the AC down to LO and leave it in Auto. Is there any way to set the car to always start up with those AC settings?
View 8 RepliesI have a 2007 Prius with about 150,000 miles. This has happened a couple of times in the past 2 months : Our Navigation system seems to be resetting itself- this morning it happened for the second time in the past 2 months:
Volume resets
Search location changed
All “previous” destinations are gone.
Not sure if any other settings changed, but those are the 3 that are obvious- it is almost as if it reverted to some kind of default settings. The nav does work just fine, however. This happened about 2 months ago, and it happened again today.
Just traded in our 2010 Prius (III with nav) for a Prius v (Five) with display audio. Love it, and glad we made the switch.
On our old Prius, the display would simply change back to the map view after ~5-10 seconds. The new car does not seem to do this. No luck searching the manuals or the Internet. Is it possible?
Is there a way to change the default difference on the dynamic radar cruise control from 3 bars to 1 bar?
I think it's annoying to have to change it every time that I start the vehicle and activate cruise control.
A few days ago I noticed when I started the car that both the HV/EV and ECO mode lights were illuminated. What does that mean?
View 8 RepliesI had the reverse and seat belt beeps changed by the dealer before I took delivery. Now I want to install some mods which would entail disconnecting the 12-volt battery. With pre-2010 Prii the beeps would go back to the default settings. Will this happen on the 2010+? I don't want to make another trip to the dealer.
View 10 RepliesWe are having an intermittent issue with car starting up and immediately throwing a CEL, red triangle and going into limp mode. Shutting off the car and restarting it sometimes resolves the issue. I'd love to be able to pull the logs from the car to see what is causing this issue.
View 11 RepliesI noticed the system allows me to have EV selected at the same time as one of the other two "non-normal" modes. What's the effect and function of this?
