My clock and mph kmh buttons are not working, I'm guessing it's a fuse but I don't know where to locate it, everything else seems to be working fine in the car. It's a 2013 Prius 2
View 16 RepliesAt the moment my remote will not lock or unlock the vehicle, although the indicator light on the remote lights up on key press. ( this vehicle is not equipped with sks ).
This is a brand new key Fob (under a month old) as I had the old one replaced under warranty. I can still start the vehicle by placing the remote in the dash as usual, only the buttons don't work. It worked perfectly fine this morning, so I am not sure what the deal is.
Recently replaced:
-Key Fob itself ( about a month ago )
-12 v battery ( about 4 months ago )
- combination meter ( about a month ago )
All of the other buttons on my 05 are fine but for the last year or so the defrost buttons only work when the wheel is turned at least 90 degrees. I am guessing that there is a contact strip of some sort. How hard is it to get to the backside of these buttons?

12 volt batt removed and tested good at autozone.
Tried the "key" button under steering wheel in both positions still not working..
Checked all fuses under the hood, all OK ...all other items in the car seem to work..
None of the exterior black buttons work..
The Vent/defrost/front/rear buttons on the steering wheel quit working so I replaced them, still not working, so I replaced the Clock spring, still not working. The controls on the touch screen works fine its just the steering wheel buttons that don't work.

I just noticed this the other day. The three climate control buttons on the right side of my steering wheel--fresh/recirc, front defrost, rear defrost--have stopped working.
The functions still work if I use the MFD display to control them. What this might be? Is there a separate fuse for these buttons?
My center clock does not appear to be working. The time has not changed and it does not light up. I do get a horrible medium to high pitched whining noise which is intermittent. I was wondering which fuse is responsible for the clock and also if there is a way I can pull the power to the clock until I get it replaced if that is indeed the issue.

I have a Volvo XC90 2.4 D5 2004. But none of the buttons on the steering wheel are working - not volume for radio, not cruise control.
Symptoms are following:
* buttons on the steering wheel are lighted up
* buttons on the steering wheel are not working, none of them
* horn is not working
I have checked internet over and over and have 3 conclusions, what might be faulty:
1) steeling wheel lining/wire/connections - but in this case they would work periodically and the buttons would not be lighted up;
2) steering wheel module (swm) - in this case also the turn signals would not work and also the headlight would be faulty;
3) clockspring - in this case the airbag light should light up in dashboard.
I have a 2012 Camry SE with the Entune Navigation unit (58k miles). Everything has worked flawlessly up until two months ago. I was on my way to the airport at 4AM, when I went to hit the "APPS" button on the radio, and nothing. So I tried accessing it via the touch screen, same outcome. Then I tried to use the steering wheel to make a phone call, nothing but a short beep. Now its at the point where the ONLY buttons that work are the AUDIO, SEEK, TRACK, CAR, and VOLUME on both the radio and steering wheel. All other buttons have stopped responding. I can not get to any Bluetooth menus to use my phone, play music from my iPod, etc. Pretty much stuck on AM/FM radio or listening to a CD.
Attempted Fixes:
I just tried to install the latest version of Entune via the download directly from Toyota, however, the car does not respond to the USB when plugged in, so that was a bust. I also took the radio out and checked/cleaned the connections, to no avail.
I have a 2009 Sonata. The radio preset buttons stopped working. Any quick fixes to this problem???

It is dark between 5 o'clock on the speedo and 8 o'clock on the tach.
Where are the dash lights and what type are they?
For the past few days, every time i turn the car ON (with the headlights ON), the nav screen, clock and surrounding buttons illuminate as they should, but after ~3 seconds, the illumination for the surrounding buttons and clock shut off.
Also, the touch-screen functioning and surrounding buttons do not work at any time. The nav screen remains illuminated, however the touch-screen buttons and surrounding buttons do not work. If i turn the car off and restart, same thing; all lights illuminate for about 3 seconds then stop.
During the day with no lights on, the clock will illuminate for ~3 seconds, then shut off just like above. None of the surrounding buttons (climate, map, infom audio, display, etc) work at all.
What would cause this unusual condition? I feel like if a fuse were blown, it wouldn't work, period. But, the lights illuminate for a few seconds before shutting off.
The emergency flasher button works and illuminates always, and the passenger airbag lights do, likewise. I pulled the nav unit from the car and checked all cables, and they all appear in place.
I can communicate with the car via the voice commands, but that's it.
what might be causing these strange symptoms?
My Key Fob buttons stopped working, I can't remote lock/unlock the doors or truck anymore with the key. It will still open the doors and start the car however. My thought is the battery is dead. 2 Questions.
First, how do I change the battery?
Second, does the key have to be reprogrammed? If so, can I do it, or is that a dealer thing?
Dead battery. After recharging it, the car starts but.......
1. the seat memory buttons stop working
2. the radio that hasn't worked in 8 months since i own the car is working
when the radio wasn't working, i tried to put in new fuses and that didn't work. but a dead battery did.
My radio is pretty much froze. I can turn it on but no sound and none of the buttons work. I was thinking I might need the code to reset it but I don't know where to find that.
View 1 RepliesRecently,my 2003 Saturn Ion's electronic trunk opening buttons have stopped working ! A couple of times,I have found wiring casings underneath where we usually park the car at night and I even found what appeared to be a chewed up wire within the same spot. I've kind of checked for bad fuses. But, there is no listing for a fuse for the electronic trunk switches. Neither the button on the remote works nor the button inside the vehicle.
View 6 RepliesA couple of weeks ago, had a weird thing happen. When turning left at slow speed there was a click sound that came from the upper part of the steering column (similar to the sound you got with the indicators on in the old super duties when turning and it would go over the clockspring). It hasn't repeated the noise since.
Anyways, a week or so after this, I happened to try to use the buttons for my message center to reset my odo, which I rarely use. Didn't work. In fact all of the 5 buttons associated with the message center on the left side of my steering wheel are not working, but the cruise control buttons are. The buttons on the right side of the steering wheel are also working fine.
I am not sure if the noise in the steering column is related (but it has me suspicious...), or just coincidental, but wondered on peoples thoughts to diagnose. I pulled off the cover over the steering column, all the wires in and out of the clock spring look fine, I haven't pulled the switch yet (need to look at the service manual to make sure I don't break it as I do it), but wanted to see what was the diagnosis.
Interior cabin lights and the light in the trunk stopped working in my 2009 Avalon Limited. The clock in the dashboard also not working. Other things such as smart key, dashboard lights, cd player works fine.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2007 Camry XLE with a four cylinder engine. Noticed radio and clock quit working. The radio screen is blank. None of the buttons work. Popped hood open to check fuses and noticed corrosion on positive battery terminal. Cleaned battery terminals up and still nothing on radio and clock. Everything else seems to be working correctly. Checked smaller fuses for radio1 and radio 2. Checked all other small fuses in engine compartment and under dash. Still not working. I also pulled battery out and had Oreillys check it. It was good. Not sure what it could be.
