Prius (Gen 3) :: Amber Light Under Glove Box

There is an amber light glowing under the glove box. Does this have to do with the A/C cabin filter?

View 4 RepliesI have a 2009 with 34,000 miles. About 3 times in the last month or so, the amber electronic braking warning light has come on, then turned off by itself a couple of days later. After the second time, I brought it to the dealer, but they said that no codes were set off and they couldn't find any problem.
View 4 RepliesI plug it into the outlet the connect to the car. The charge indicator lights up but 15 seconds later you can hear the charger click off. The light on the charger stays amber and not red. I've reset the charging unit and it is happening both at the outlets at work and at home.
View 7 RepliesI have a 2008 prius that right after purchasing I found to have the condensation in the headlight problem, the dealer advised to replace the whole headlight assembly to avoid damage to the generator so I did. I did not have it done at the dealer due to the cost but at a prius certified mechanic at another location. Needless to say when he installed the headlight something was not done right and as a result the amber parking light is not coming on when the rest of the headlights are turned on.
I didn't notice this for a while and then when I did I neglected to get it fixed while under warranty for the labor. The strange thing is the light flashes when I lock and unlock my door, just won't come on with the other headlights. I tried replacing the bulb when I replaced my HID today but still the same result.

A few weeks back, the amber ABS light would periodically illuminate and then became more frequent until it was On every time I used the car. The light only comes on after driving the car forward ~10-20ft. Recently in the past few days, the red brake light also started coming on at the exact same time as the amber ABS light. I can start up the car and idle, backup, and then as soon as I drive forward 10-20ft., both lights simultaneously illuminate, along with the sound of something that is engaging/closing/switching etc. coming from the front driver's side, maybe where the brake module is located. The sound coincides with the illumination of the lights. There is also absolutely no noticeable difference in braking.
I just changed the oil a couple days ago and the fluid level was good and appears to have not moved at all since I flushed the lines ~2.5yrs. ago. I cannot recall if I returned the pistons to the home position back then, but either way I was able to bleed all 4 lines.
What may be causing both lights to illuminate together when the car moves forward in addition to coinciding with a sort of clunking/engaging noise coming from the front driver's side?
If I have to replace the EBCM, then do I need a scan tool?
I already called Module Master and they do not rebuild any GM EBCMs built before 1999. Looks like Rock Auto has some though.
My 02 Honda Accord DRL both side are off and the amber warning light is on in dash board. I have replaced with new RELAYS month ago.
View 2 RepliesWell, I recently had the "Airbag Fault" error message (along with the wonderful amber airbag light) both appear on my dash, and oddly enough, I haven't hit anything or bumped anything or done anything that could cause this error. I drive a 2001 VW 1.8T and she only has 48,000 miles on her.
View 1 RepliesI am looking into replacing my cab light bulbs with amber led's. What ones do you recommend? There are so many available out there. I don't want some cheap crap! Also, what is the bulb type in are in the mirrors for the parking light and turn signal?
View 2 RepliesI'm installing a new amber light on my 2013 F250 signal cab and was wondering where most people run the wires into the cab. It has a magnetic mount and I didn't want to put a hole in the roof. I have a cap on the truck and I also don't have a sliding rear window. This will not be a temp. install. Putting the wires in through a hole in the 3rd brake light?
View 3 RepliesI just noticed that my glove box light isn't working .
Can it be a fuse , or should I just buy a new bulb and change myself.
If so, do i need to remove the whole glove compartment?
Need to repair or replace the hardware for the lower Glovebox latch for 2004 Prius....
View 4 RepliesI have a 2002 Camry LE V6 (Made in Japan) and wanted to replace the glove box bulb. The manual does not mention how to change it and the local dealership was not sure on how to do it. What is involved in it and what size bulb is needed?
View 1 RepliesI have searched and everyone just states to press in the tabs and the cover pops off. Well this is not the case for me, the lids won't budge and the tabs seem to be recessed as is. This can't be as hard as i'm making it.
View 3 RepliesMy 14 C2 has this persistent rattle from the glove box hinge. It's that single plastic hinge extender for smoothly opening the glove box. I've taken it out and re-settled it into the box socket but the rattle is starting again when going over bumps... Is it just mine?
View 3 RepliesHow to replace blower motor in 01 Prius. There are no way to get from to it from under the glove box.
Blower motor was working fine. I decided to remove cabin filter. Filter had not been changed for very long time. There was a lot of dirt, pine straw and leaves on top of the filter. When I removed the filter a lot of dirt fell inside the motor. Ever since then motor is working on and off. Often have to hit under the glove box and it works again for a while. Tried to remove the blower but could not get to it.
Had to replaced the AUX port in the glove box. Mine is loose or something and you have to hold the cable in just the hit spot or it wont work.
View 3 RepliesThe lid on my "upper" glove box will not stay up. How to fix this? I cannot figure how to get to the mechanism.
View 19 RepliesI just purchased an 05 cavalier and today a loud clicking noise started right down by the glove box. I have full a/c and heat. If I turn the climate control to recirculate the clicking stops. But now the orange engine light is on. I've heard it could be the blend door actuator from what I've read online. Would this cause the engine light to come on? The code reading from autozone was coolant leak/coolant low/thermostat something along those lines. But the engine light came on 3 hrs after the clicking started so I am thinking it's related.
Oh also (the clicking stops after the car warms up a bit)? I would love to just buy the part online and have a small place replace part. I cannot afford hundreds of dollars in labor. If that is the right part does the dash need to come out in an 05 Cavalier or can it be gotten to under the glove box?
my 06 SD ha no glove box light, i have an oem light and pigtail, where would be a good place to tap into power?
don't see any thing in the area that looks like it would work
My 2010 IV has some kind of rattle/vibration in the upper glovebox. You can only hear it when taking off from a stop or accelerating at low speed.
View 2 RepliesI took my 2006 Prius into the dealership a few months ago for an oil change. When I drove the car away from the dealership I heard a weird pop from the area of the glove box. When I opened the glove box later to see what had happened, the glove box only opened about halfway. Some part of the spring mechanism had been compromised.
When I returned to the dealership telling them to fix the glove box, they examined it and concluded that the glove box was opening just fine. Looking for a brief video of upper glove box opening, to show the extent to which it fully opens on its own? I would like to present such a video to my dealership folks, who seem not to know how their own parts are meant to function.
