I have a 2012 Prius base model. The dash clock loses almost 3-4 minutes a day. Its still under warranty so I'll likely take it into the dealer and get it checked out..
The only thing "different" is I have a Garmin HD Bluetooth connector (which streams engine stats like the Scanguage does to my GPS unit) hooked up to the OBDII port..but that *should* not cause any issues I think.
Why this would happen on a new 2012 Prius II?
View 19 RepliesEveryday when I start my car the time is 3-5 minutes behind. I reset it each time and I'm still having the same problem. I have a 2013 and it's the original battery if that might have anything to do with. I just tested the voltage and that's good.

View 3 Replies5.0L V-8, Electronic Fuel Injection, 79,000 miles, 2 WD, 4 speed manual. I'm the original owner.
If I drive it 4-5 miles on secondary streets (25-40 MPH) it shuts off without warning after 10 minutes and will not restart without a 20-30 minute wait. If I drive it 2-3 miles and park it for a couple of minutes it will not restart without waiting 20-30 minutes. Checked engine water temp gauge and it is normal.
The local mechanics found no spark when it failed at their garage. They replaced the ignition module on distributor. This did not fix the problem. In their second attempt they replaced the coil. Still the same problems persists and the mechanics are stumped.
It's like something in ignition package heats up after 10 minutes and either sticks open causing no spark or closes shorting out the spark if that is possible. What is causing this and how to fix it.
Noticed that the clock speeds up all on its own. I will set it correctly and then within a weeks time it will be minutes faster.
View 14 RepliesAfter several checks and resets , my Touareg clocks are fast by about 2 min/week. No other electrical problems. Not a known problem with my dealer. Clocks aren't hi-tech ... MFI may have clock module- seems overkill to change it.

I have tried another control unit (the climate control, nav screen, etc buttons) where the clock is located to see if I had a bad unit and it still did the same thing.
I have a brand new battery from Lexus and everything else in the car seems to be fine....this was an issue before I bought the new battery.

1) I have already configured it for daylight savings time.
2) Tried to earlier time zone
3) I have adjust time zone by an hour
Is there a firmware update to make this happen? What am I missing?
I noticed on a few occasions this weekend that the clock is not changing when the time does. It will go 10 -12 minutes usually and then change. However one time it went almost an hour and a half before it changed. I am lost. I've looked for a setting that my son or I may have changed, and read the manual, but still can not find anything about it. At first, I thought it was because I didn't have anything on in the truck. No radio, navi, anything. But after turning it on, still does it.
View 14 RepliesMy '15 sonata Limited w/ Tech package has been having some issues appear with the clock on the Navigation unit.
A few weeks back, I noticed that the Date/time display across the top of the navigation screen was showing May 28. When I dug down into the clock settings, it was pulling the date May 28, year 2035 from the GPS signal. Each day it would increment to the next day.
Then last week, the date and time would not load across the screen at all. Only the normal blue bar appears across the screen without any text or numbers.
With the Daylight Savings time change over the weekend, I tried to change the time on the LCD clock in the middle of the dashboard, the clock settings are grayed out and I can not change anything.
I already hit the reset button next to the knob on the dash, and also pulled the 15A fuse but neither one worked to reset anything.
I have a 97 toyota avalon. I just had the battery and alternator changed. Now my clock does not keep correct time (I believe this is only when the car is not running). Also my dome light will not work any longer. My car auto lock does does not lock on its own any more, and if I use the power locks and turn on the dome light, the car unlocks, but the dome light still does not come on. This all started about a week or two ago after installing the alternator.
View 7 RepliesI ran about 2 miles on EV then switched to HV 1/2 mile before getting on the freeway. After about 3miles red temp light came on Outside air temp was about 65. I was on a 2 mile long single lane transition so I was unable to get off the freeway. I slowed down to about 60mph from 70mph the light went off. The light was on for about 2min.
I got off the freeway and opened the hood. The coolant had over flowed puking coolant all over my clean engine. I was able to run EV to dealer to check. My guess was a stuck thermostat! Dealer just called me and after calling manufacture to discuss the the error codes and my symptoms, there best guess was a stuck thermostat.
In the process of selling my car and had my guy take my speakers out for the stock JBL ones but noticed after that my clock on the dash and dome lights aren't on at all. Is there a simple plug that cold have been missed?
