Prius four with heated leather seats noticed especially on the drivers side seat bottom on the side bolster just as you slide in not the center section. I noticed it when new, it looks like a maybe wire between the leather and seat foam.
View 4 RepliesI am having a problem with my driver's side heated seats on my 2011 Elantra. When I press the button to turn on the heated seats, the lights on the button turn on for about 1 second, and then turn off. The passenger side and back seats are all heating properly...just for some reason my driver's heated seats don't turn on. I stuck my hand under the seat and it feels like everything is connected. Any reason why the lights on the heated seat button turn on for about 1 second, and then turn off?
View 12 RepliesThe drivers seat heat on my 2010 F-150 stopped working. The passengers side works fine. When I press the button on the dash, it lights for 2-3 seconds, then goes out. I have been looking around all weekend for a fix. I found many posts, but they are older and the equipment I'm seeing on my 2010 F-150 looks different. I found the wires coming from the heating pad. I was going to try and test for continuity but the wires have a plastic fitting and I can't get contact to the wires. I found a diagram on Foreparts.com showing that the heated seat control module is part # 14C724. I was able to locate on the passengers side, but not on the drivers side so I wasn't able to swap and see if that was the problem.

View 5 RepliesIn January we bought a 2010 RX 450H with less than 12,000 miles. But 2 months ago noticed a yellowing discoloring on the drivers leather in a few spots. It is the light gray leather. Also some flaking. I had a similar flaking with our 07 ES350. The dealer had their detailer clean the RX drivers leather but now notice it returning and several areas of the coloring flaking off. I've heard they treat any seat imperfections to prep for CPO sale. In fact it looked new when bought. The feel of the drivers leather is also different than all the other seats.
The car still has less than 20,000 miles. This is ridiculous.
I got a 2010 Prius with factory heated leather seats and problem is that they are always powered on, driver and passenger side, both of them.
When I press switch under the bar it makes click sound but does not make any difference, the light on the buttons are steady ON no mater you press it, hold it or anything.
Weird seat heater issue on my 05 TAP/Ecru. Drivers side seat heater tends to fail intermittently after I apply leather care liquid on the seat. Does not happen on the passenger side. In winter, it failed for nearly a week before coming back to life. Yesterday it failed for the evening, then started working again today. Each time right after I applied leather care to the seats. Same amount applied to passenger and driver's seat and the passenger seat is always OK.
What is causing this ? Of course each time I go to the dealer, it is working fine !!!!
The heated seat on the driver side does not work. I replaced the switch (near the center console) and checked the fuse, but it still doesn't work. The light on the switch comes on, but no heat.
View 4 Replies9000 Miles latter: The driver side heated seat has given up the ghost. Also, the digital clock on the dash keep gaining time. VW says there is nothing wrong with the computer and they have thrown up there hands.
The clock has probably gained an hour in the last month. I know the car is German not Swiss but a digital clock should not do this and causes me concern that there might be other ECU issues.
I have an '07 Saturn Relay. The drivers side heated seat has quit working, the passenger side works fine. When I turn the warmer switch on, the switch lights up but the seat never gets warm on the high or low mode of the switch. After a while the light on the switch goes off, it used to stay on all the time. What could be wrong and how can I check it?
View 3 RepliesMy wife has arthritis problems in her hips and knees, so we always buy cars with leather seats so she can slide in and out easily. This 2013 Prius v Five has the Softex imitation leather seats, which just don't slide very well. I complained at the dealer and asked if I could use something like saddle soap. They said not to use anything on them, and contacted an upholstery shop they have dealt with in the past. They will replace the seat bottoms with real leather (but not a perfect color match)
View 8 RepliesI got some manual of the internet on how to take out the bottom off the back seat. I got it off and installed the seat covers. How do I reinstall the seat. Instructions say attach rear hooks then push down to attach front. I attached the rear hooks but can not just push down on the seat to install the front. Sitting on it does not let it latch on. How to make the front latch on? This is on 2010 Prius. I got the u tubes going inside the white connectors but they will not latch on. Is there a trick? Seat is faom and Styrofoam so I don't want to just push down as I might break something. It's GT covers that I am installing.
View 1 RepliesI noticed if it's around -30c heated seats won't work until car has been driven for a bit. Sometimes only 1 seat can be heated at a time. Usually lights in buttons flicker. Other owners in cold weather want to add to this?
View 15 RepliesSo I've wanted to post this here for awhile now but kept forgetting. I assume this is how all the Elantras are but I wanted to know for sure. So basically when people in the back seats turn on their seat warmers, and the car gets turned off. They turn back on automatically when the car is turned on. I guess because it's a push button and the button is still engaged when car is turned on again. What a dumb design! I do try and remind my passengers to kindly turn them off, but they often times forget, including myself. I'm just afraid the seat warmers are gonna wear out quicker if they get left on and I don't realize till a certain amount of time later. So is the case for everyone? Just don't understand the design behind it when the front seats turn off automatically but not the back. Wish there was a way to change this.
View 9 RepliesWe're looking to buy a 2013 or 2014 RX350 and have a couple questions about equipment. Specifically, is blind spot monitoring standard equipment for either year 2013 or 2014 or is this an option?
If heated seats are listed as an option for an RX does this mean that "cooled" or Ventilated seats are automatically included for years 2013 or 2014? I ask because I've seen "heated" seats listed on Autotrader, but the controllers pictured include heated and cooled. Of the cars, we've looked at they only had both heated/cooled or nothing. We haven't seen heated only.
If the RX does NOT have heated seats, is the leather still perforated for 2013/2014 models or is it solid like previous years?
My 2009 SE V6, I have the grey cloth/leather combo and the drivers seat is pretty much cracking. I am not sure if it is cheap or the unusually cold winters we had here in MD. The car has 28,000. I am going to show to the dealer because in the cracks, the dye is coming off. I had a Trailblazer LTZ for 3 years and never seen that happen but it was tan leather.
Second, my car at higher speeds has a lot of wind noise, I think it is the mirrors. I am going back to the dealer for my 30k gouging soon and I will show them the seat again.
I have a 2011 lariat with the heated leather seats, out of a sudden the passenger side stopped working. Light comes on but no heat. We did notice leading up to this it was getting extremely hot to the point it was too much heat. Fuse is good?

View 2 RepliesI have a 2014 Prius C Four. It just ticked over 5000 miles on the odo and I really like this car so far. There are a few annoying things, one of which is the way the heated seats work. In my other car, the heated seats had three heat levels. Once you set it, the seats come up to temperature and stays there. The Prius heated seats are just on/off. The annoying part is that when you turn it on, the heat is really inconsistent. For the past few winter months, I pretty much leave the seat heaters on all the time. During my commute, the seat temperature will go up and down about a dozen times. The temperature will rise to an almost uncomfortable level then drop back down to where you can barely tell they are on. The temperature cycles up and down and it's really annoying.
View 6 RepliesMy driver's seat heater won't shut off even though the I have it off. It is only the lower seat back that is on. So I have been sweating while driving around due to this. Is there any quick fix? pull a fuse? disconnect the heat underneath the seat?
View 11 RepliesI have a 2011 III with leather seats. The car has around 3500 miles and I have noticed the bottom of the seats look wavy and not flat. I wanted to check here before I took it to the dealer to see what they would say, probably that it is "normal". I am afraid the seat will wear faster where the waves are.
