My check engine light came on in my 2010 Prius III so I hooked up to a scanner and the following code came up:
P2237 O2 Sensor
Positive Current
Control Circuit
Open - Bank 1
Sensor 1
My car has close to 60k miles so I don't think this would be covered under warranty. I don't know if this is related to this code but recently my exhaust smells kind of like bleach/chlorine.
I have a fault wit the steering angle sensor, fault code c1231, I have replaced it twice now, the fault would go after installing recon steering angle sensor but would come back again after, not sure what the problem is, looks like they become faulty and dead.

I recently had a check engine light, VSC off light (blinking) and traction control light come on. I took it to Autozone and had a p0037 code ring up for a new Bank 1 Sensor 2 oxygen sensor (downstream). I believe I have found the correct sensor (located under car, approximately near drivers seat) and it looks simple to replace, aside from the fact that the wires go through the car body.
Can confirm that I have located the correct sensor? And if so, what is the best way to get to where the wires connect?
Is it located under the drivers seat? What should I do about the rubber grommet located under the car where the wires appear to pass through?

View 1 RepliesI have a 2005 Elantra with about 160,000 miles on it and my CEL light has been coming on and off. I took it to Autozone and had them scan it, and the codes for P2237 and P0030, which are codes for oxygen sensors.
P2237- heated oxygen sensor pumping current control circuit-bank 1 sensor 1
P0030- heated oxygen sensor sensor- bank 1 sensor 1 heater control circuit fault
Which sensor is this, and can I clean it or should I just replace it?
My first Prius, an 05 has 249K and performs pretty much flawlessly. My second, an 04 which I purchased in May, has 75K. While driving the 04 yesterday, all the lights came on the dash and really scared me. I immediately pulled off the road and checked belt, fluids and anything else I could. I then called the dealer and they thought since the car was running normal, to bring it in. For a hundred dollars I was told the HV battery, though working and not a problem, would have to be replaced due to a faulty "battery temp sensor" and that this part is not repairable....I need a new battery! Code POA9B ... Tomorrow I am taking the rear panel out and check the HV battery fan, etc. Can I drive the car with these lights on? Everything seems to work but the CC.

Does this have anything to do with the hybrid electric coolant pump that was replaced under recall a while back?
View 5 RepliesIt's been a long week for me and my 2007 Prius. Brought it to the dealer after receiving my first ever CEL. I have 222,000 miles on the vehicle. The a/c was also blowing warm when the CEL came on. They checked that and told me that the compressor was "breaking up." Then they call me back to tell me that my 12V battery died. They asked me if I had problems with starting the vehicle. I said never. Never had any issues with the car in 222,000 miles.
Well, told them to replace the battery (no choice) and the car is 5.5 years old in Florida heat so it was ready to die. Very suspicious that it died while they had the vehicle, but what can I say. Told them to not repair the coolant flow valve or the a/c until I could investigate further on my own. CEL is now off. The a/c is blowing cool again.
I've been looking online to see how often you need to replace the oxygen sensor for the 3rd gen Prius. I can't find anything online. How often you replace these? Would it be around 100,000 miles or more because it's a hybrid? Also how many are there? I've heard there is 2 and some say there's 4.
View 2 RepliesI took my Prius to get one of the air pressure sensors replaced on a front tire. When they returned it to me they told me that the ABS and the VSC lights were on and did I know that. I told them that was not on before. Anyway they told me they could not fix it an I needed to take it to the dealer to get it re-calibrated which i did.. How can I prove that this happened when the tire was being worked on, or can I?
View 4 RepliesJust picked up a Toyota certified 2010 Prius III....less than a week later, the check engine light comes on. Took it right back to the dealer...in which they said its the air/fuel sensor. Toyota warranty services was closed, so they need to check tomorrow if its covered by the remaining warranty or not.
View 2 Replies2013 Prius 4 ... A deer was trying to hitch hike but didn't give me warning before lunging into the passenger door. I found a salvage door that will work. I have switched all the wiring, speaker, locking mechanism and mirror but I need removing the door handle(outside). I suppose the sensor that matches my key fab needs to be transferred to the new door but I can't see how this is done. Looking for the instructions on removing the door handle?

View 2 RepliesOk had a check engine light. It directed me to replace the IAT sensor.. After some research I found it was integrated into the MAP sensor. Purchased a new sensor and replaced. Drive about 15 miles CEL throws another code. P0106 (sensor i just replaced) faulty Map sensor.
Followed procedure to replace sensor.. unhook battery cable reset ecm. After reset engine is hard to start. Followed by RPM changes (assuming its the ECM re-adjusting). Then CEL flashes 5-6 times and goes out, Drive 15 miles. Map sensor code reappears. (note i only purchased one sensor But repeated install 2 times).
My thought is against wiring. since the codes refer to different signal wires one for IAT one for MAP sensor. Faulty replacement sensor?
2002 Accent 1.6L
I am driving down the road and the TPMS light starts to blink - and then stays on. I looked in the manual and it says that "When the light comes on after blinking for 1 minute: Malfunction in the tire pressure warning system." The resolution is to "Have the system checked by your Toyota dealer."
All my pressures, including the spare are how I have them set. I also made sure to re-set the TPMS button under the steering wheel to the new pressures and everything. I'll let you know what I find out. I'm kinda mad a sensor has failed though on a car that's less than one year old.
The "Check Hybrid System" message came up on my dashboard. I took it to the dealer, and they said the temperature sensor on the transaxle was giving erratic readings. Unfortunately, they said that the only way to fix it is to replace the entire transaxle. They said I could keep driving it and that it would probably go into disabled mode before it caused any more damage. What I should do? It's a rebuilt 2012 Prius with 25k miles.
