Prius (Gen 2) :: Trans Shifter In B Mode - How It Works

I have been wondering what happens when I put the trans shifter in B. I know the Prius really doesn't have a "transmission" and I am wondering how it works and does it affect mileage or regeneration.

I had a question about the light in the gear box/shifter on the dash. Mine seems to work occasionally. Sometimes when I shift into a D or B it'll pop on. Lately it's stopped, I was thinking maybe I have a short in it or it needs to be replaced.
Upon searching through the forums it appears I'd have to replace the whole shift mechanism, is this correct?

I am new to the Prius experience as I just bought by 2013 Prius 3 last week. I have a question on the EV mode and how it works when I am in normal drive.
This is something I observed when I am driving and I wanted to check whether it's normal.
When I am accelerating, vehicle is in EV mode and the progress bar is green. As soon as it pass the separator in the hybrid indicator (it turns white), the EV mode light turns off. When I hit the brakes, speed goes down with the acceleration and the progress bar goes back towards the green side. However my EV mode light does not turn on until I go way too close to the charging section of the bar. Once it's enabled, it stays in EV mode (green) until I pass the separator again.

'04 RX330 AWD 116k...Recently noticed the shifter is no longer going into drive. When placed in the "D" position (on the right hand side of the "4-D" slot), the dash indicator reads "4". I have verified the trans is only shifting as far as 4th (70mph=3000rpm w/stock tires). ECT/Snow is not turned on.
To clarify, the problem is not physical/mechanical as far as the shifter itself...the shifter will drop to the correct "D" position, but the car says, thinks, and acts like its in "4".

I have a 2004 Phaeton V8 with about 68K miles. The transmission works great in both Drive and Sport mode but the shifter doesn't want to move to the right to engage Tiptronic mode most of the time. I can get it into Tiptronic about 20% of the times I try. Isthis indicative of any bigger problem?

I have an 01 f350, my reverse lights only work when I hold up my shifter, like its almost into park. I think my reverse light switch is bad, but I don't know where its located.

When going to adjust my DG shifter since it wouldn't go into first I noticed that my L-shaped lever (02J-301-358C) on the tranny was more out then usually and could be pulled straight out with no resistance. I am guessing the piece at the end is also broken and will need to be pulled out, but how will I put the transmission into home mode after?

I read another blog on here about stratus not shifting and decided to ask someone about my limp mode problem. A few months ago I was driving uphill when it jerked before it got into limp mode. I thought maybe the hot weather caused it(it was 95 deg). I let it sit overnight. and the next day car was fine. for about 3-4 months. Now it got into limp mode only after it goes through all the gears once only. When i come to a stop it will go into limp again. Got a 0700 and 0760 codes. My speedometer works. tach works. Basically everything works as it should.
I decided to change the ATF and filter, both speed sensors and i get the same old codes after a drive around the block. I then decided to remove the neg terminal overnight. Next day I would have no signal at the data link port. When i removed the key from the ignition my dash lights for the mileage will stay on for another 3-4 seconds before disappearing. I checked the ground wires to the PCM and TCM which are good. Fuses and relays are also good. I even swapped some of them. Still no change. 1997 stratus 2.4 auto...

Just fully rebuilt transmissin 4r75 replaced all planet gears clutches etc. Now with it all back together the speedo does not work on truck goes into limp mode. I replaced the vss sensor an no luck

I have noticed that when driving in EV mode when the car switches over to HV mode the Eco icon always lights up! Of course you can select Eco, or Power mode manually, but when it does this automatically, after the EV battery charge is used up, it keeps showing the Eco icon being lite not HV.

My AC always defaults to Recirculation mode the first time I use it after starting the car even though Auto mode is off.
Can I change this to default to fresh air mode?

I have a concern about my 2010 Prius V(five). I've noticed some issues lately that may all tie in to one big problem.
1. My ev mode will not work at all. My battery will be fully charged and not in "B" mode. Turning car off and on will not work.
2. Engine will not turn off when coming to stops. Mind you when the battery is above 3 lines.
3. Throttle response feels like it's in PWR mode(super sensitive) but the engine is leggy. If I floor it for a sec the RPMS are super slow to come down.
4. The Eco line is quick to go in PWR portion and I'm not pushing it any harder than I was before all of this started. It seems like when I push the gas it skips the electric and automatically pulls from the engine.

I recently changed the bushings and installed SS kit. I don't know if this was the case before, but now while in any gear, i can still move it approx half inch to the right and half inch to the left.
I checked everything and all screws are tight. Could it be that the shifter cables need adjustment?

I like to use the braking feature on the transmission shift knob for hard braking and on long slow rolls to a stoplight. Matter of fact I use it quite a bit because recharging the battery and saving a bit on brake wear while using the brake position is nice. It also reminds me a bit of downshifting back in the day. I am a bit concerned that using the shifter almost all the time to assist braking may cause undo stress on the engine in future years.

Problem I am having with my '04, my shifter stays in the "D" position when selected. The previous owner said it did not use to do that when new, it does not do it when "R" or "B" are selected, so perhaps something inside is awry or something was spilled on it. I thought I may take it apart and clean/lube it.

I installed my OGS shifter yesterday and noticed that when I plug in the car the OGS shifter stays on while the car is charging. Once charging is complete it will turn off.

I am owning 2008 Prius 2nd gen car since last may 2012, 2 days before when i was stooped and restarting he car my main display screen wont work and touch screen wont work either. after that i reset the car and kept it for 5 minutes. it works after the reset and went on to 260Km. today morning when i start the car same problem appears and cannot fix it like last time by during the resetting the system.

I have a 2010 Prius no frills model with 5500 miles on it. I've started hearing a noise that sounds like loud burst of radio static. I hear it with the radio off or on. It's very intermittent, but seems to occur only at freeway speeds. Seems to be coming from underneath the shifter or underneath the dash in the same area.
