My steering wheel and shifter lights went out, while all the other indicator and light works. This is a blown fuse or is it something major to fix?

View 5 RepliesMy 75 Corolla wagon (2T-C 4 speed, rear wheel drive) has developed a terrible shimmy that can be felt in the steering wheel and shifter, as well as the whole car. It only does this when I am in 3rd or 4th gear doing between 35-45 mph. Over the past few months this has gotten worse, and instead of being an intermittent thing (once a week or so) it happens every time I am in the 35-45 mph range.

View 4 RepliesToday I put a new shifter tube in a 02 f450. Everything works well, but the key won't come out and the steering wheel won't lock. Was told there is a button to push by the turn signal side but don't see any. Looked around top and bottom of column and didn't see anything out of place. Also found a black wire with a pink strip not connected to anything. Touched the wire to the column and key dinger sounded. Where should this wire be connected?

View 3 Replies I have a nice 2000 Durango 4x4 SLT, automatic. I have some problems.
1) The drivers door outside latch will not open the door, the inside latch works fine.
2) The shifter on the transfer case is loose, it appears that the drive was left in 2wd since I have been able to use it. But it will not shift?
3) The steering wheel feels like it has a lot of play in it, also feels like a knuckle is in it when I turn it. It sometimes slips on turns at speed?
As we all know, you can toggle the steering wheel lights on and off. Just one question: Who uses this feature? Under what conditions?
View 5 RepliesThe lights on the steering wheel controls are too dim? I find it hard to see them at night.
Any mod that brightens them up a bit (and creates a cooler look at the same time)???
For the past week I have had the steering wheel and traction control warning lights come on after I start the car after sitting for a long period of time. Once I drive the car a few feet the warning lights disappear. The model is a 2007 2.0T with 72,000 miles. What are next steps or should I head to the dealership? I'm out of factory warranty but have a third party warranty that expires at 75,000 miles.

View 4 RepliesMy steering wheel lights r out and need to know which wire runs power to those. also the led in my headlight switch is very dim.I checked the wiring and all the wires check out with high 11's and high 12 volts.i checked the volts at the led in the switch and it read 2.18 v.i have another light switch from the salvage yard and the same thing. which wire powers that light. also, the light only comes on when the key is in the on position or back for accessory. if i just turn the lights on it wont lite, only with key in ignition in those positions. truck is a 2000 f350 xlt dually.....
View 14 RepliesI'm trying to remove the airbag so I can get to the steering wheel lights to change them. I took the covers off of each side of the steering wheel, expecting to find T30 torx screws to take off so that I can remove the airbag, but there seem to be no screws at all holding it in! Am I missing something here? Will have pictures in a couple minutes.
Not sure why my pictures aren't working, here are the links :

Bringing the steering wheel out another inch or two would do wonders. But is there an acceptable path? I know this isn't done casually, because it could interfere with the airbag.
There are two possibilities.
First, some kind of extender that would be inserted behind the steering wheel.
Alternatively, I see an external wheel extension that targets handicapped drivers. See link; this might do the trick and not interfere with the airbag for 14" diameter and an extension of an inch or two.
It seems that my wheel is turning into a grey/white.. Having Fading Steering Wheel (Vinyl).
View 2 RepliesHiMy prius c ,s steering wheel is sometimes smooth but sometimes its hard. I tested on the same road with only me inside the vehicle. Is there something wrong with the rack ? My tire size is 195/65/r16.
View 4 RepliesMy car has shaken from the start but I thought it was because it was a small car that was a great price so this is how it ran. Today it started shaking so badly up through the steering wheel that I was afraid to drive it. Still am. I got the tire pressure checked, the wheel balancing checked - all ok. Took it into the dealership (car is still under warrantee) and they think it's likely the drive train/drive shaft.

View 11 RepliesTrying setting up new controls in the steering wheel of a Prius? I have the "four" package so there's a blank spot on the right side where the radar cruise and lane assist controls would be, and I would kill to have the three driving mode buttons right there for easy switching while driving around town. Is that sort of thing even technically possible?
