My battery is flat and my manual key doesn't seem to let me enter the car via the driver door. I managed to open it in the morning but now it just wont open.
View 16 RepliesI have been noticing this problem more frequently. It's been about 2 months that I noticed the car is doing this.
I would typically touch the door handle to lock the car, (hear the beep) and sometimes I use the remote at a distance to make sure I did not forget to lock it. But after I return to the car, I usually go to the trunk, to put away my briefcase, (without pressing any button). After closing the trunk, and going to the driver side passenger door(its unlocked) (no beeping sound or anything)
I have made sure several times (clicking the button several times) that I indeed locked the car. but it's unlocked. I have tested the auto lock feature on my car (locking, then unlocking without opening doors, yes it automatically locks the doors after 60 seconds).
Back door my 2007 prius Wont open I've opened it with the manual latch from the inside underneath in the luggage compartment and reset the power locks but it doesn't make any difference I still can't open the door from the outside.

In Boston (and I presume in other large cities) there are roads that have the same house number across various zip codes. So, for example, 235 Washington Street can be found in 3 distinct zip codes in the same city (Boston). I would like to be able to put in the zip code for the address I want to go to. Right now it gives me my the completely useless latitude and longitude coordinates (with great precision, I might add!). My authorized Toyota dealer could not figure out how to change it to show the zip code associated with the address I just entered.
My 2011 Prius does not have an MFD since mine is the standard model. I tried to find a way to monitor the 12V battery by searching the forum but could not find a way to enter maintenance mode without the MFD. How to put my Prius on maintenance mode?
View 8 RepliesI have a 2009 Prius with an Enginer 4kwh battery pack. I know that the Prius' programming has a number of parameters that control when it will enter EV mode.
The display says "Cannot enter EV mode now" when engaging my Coastal EV mode switch at times when I believe it should be able to enter EV mode. Here are the conditions from a recent trip:
-Stopped at a light
-The ICE not running
-Car fully warmed up (just drove 10 miles)
-AC off
-Outside air temp 62 degrees
-Battery showing green bars with the top bar white
If I enter EV mode when the car is started cold then it works fine. Once I've driven it a while I can't get it to return to EV mode reliably.
The last time I spoke with my local Toyota dealer they said that because the 2009 American Prius was not shipped with an EV mode switch they would not support that mode.
How to enter the symbol of an index such as S&P 500 to retrieve the quotes from XM? I tried all the usual variations and none seem to work.

First, I can no longer enter EV mode with the ev mode. It always says cannot change into ev mode right now. In the past, that only occurred during the warm up cycles. Now it always says that regardless except if I try when first powering on before the engine starts. In that case, when it was working, it would switch over and the MFD would change to show the battery. Now nothing and the engine always starts.
Also, the battery charges and discharges much faster than it used to. I can barely get a 1/4 in stealth (feathering the throttle to keep the ICE from kicking on) without it going from 8 bars down to 2.
Yesterday I noticed my door won't unlock and I had to use passenger's side to get in and push my door to open.
I noticed the lock/unlock switch on the door stays locked, won't unlock at all.
My car is 2004 Prius.
Lately I've found it very annoying not to be able to unlock the passenger door behind the driver. I have the Prius v 5 and all the doors open except for that one. I find this kind of strange because many times I'll have a bag that I want to place in the back seat. So I'm wondering, is it possible to unlock this door using just the drivers door handle? I have already gone through some settings on my screen under vehicle, but can't find a way to change it.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2004 Prius. Just rolled 120k today, still running like a champ, but I started having this weird issue. Whenever I walk up to the car, it opens by itself.I dont even have to put my hand on the door handle, I just get close to the drivers door and it opens, of course with the smart key in my pocket. Its only the drivers door as well. I find this a little weird plus its hard to lock the door with the black square because if I don't run out of range...it unlocks.

Does not happen every time but has happened several times. I look like an idiot climbing in from the back seat.
My driver side rear door won't lock any way that I try to lock it. I have tried to lock it by using the lock/unlock contol button that locks or unlocks all of the doors at one time on the inside of the drivers door and it won't lock. I have tried to lock it by pushing the rubber button on the outside of the drivers door and it won't lock.
I am unable to move the lock button next to door handle in the inside of the door on the rear drivers side door. Which led me to check the child lock lever that one can see when they open the door. Moving child lock lever doesn't do anything either way it is set to change the problem. Also I am able to open the door from the outside or the inside.
All other doors lock and unlock properly. My question is when there is an actuator motor problem does that make it so that one is unable to move the lock/unlock button on the inside of that door?
All other doors lock and unlock except drivers door. The drivers door can only be locked unlocked manually with your hand.
View 12 RepliesWhen I unlock my door by just touching the handle it only opens the driver door and if I am at the passenger door it only opens the passenger door. Is there a way to open all the doors without having to take the keys out of my pocket and hit the unlock button? I want to be able to open all doors by just touching the handle.
View 10 RepliesI have a problem with my '08 driver's door lock. Essentially, the doors will all lock just fine using FOB, door buttons, etc, and all doors except driver's door will unlock using smart key features, fob, etc. However, if I want to unlock the driver's door I have to insert and turn the key. It feels a little stiff but it might not be any different than before as I rarely used this feature before. There was a period of about a week where it would fail intermittently before it began to fail consistently.
It just got warm out here in MD, not sure if that might have made a difference. I popped the rubber door plug out to lubricate it the lock mechanism with some silicone spray and also sprayed some in the lock itself, but it did not make a difference.
I am trying to avoid an expensive repair, but I am not really up for a complex replacement of the actuator motor - and it seems like the motor must be working anyway if I can lock the doors. I have not done anything in the latch area, just near where the key goes.
I would like all the doors to unlock when i open the drivers door. The manual is a little confusing on how to do this or if you can.
View 9 RepliesI can't seem to lock my driver's side door via my key fob anymore. It locks all the other doors. When I press the lock button, I can hear the other doors lock and no beeping sound. There is a light blinking on my dash according to the manual the accessory mode light is blinking. I How do I shut it off? I've turned the car on by pressing the power button and pressing the brake then shut if off normally by pressing the power button.
View 6 RepliesI loved my Prius to death on day 1 but now I am having some frustrating problems starting and stopping the car. I drove the car on Sunday for several journies with no problems. I even did a 120 mile round trip in which i cruised at about 65 and 70mph to test the mpg (around 50-55mpg which I was quite happy with)
Anyway.. onto today..
So I tried to start the car at 7:20 for my usual drive to work and tried the usual approach..
1) unlock doors
2) put key fob into slot
3) put foot on brake
4) press the power button
but nothing happened. I cant remember the sequence but various messages popped up. After that I thought i would lock and unlock the car but i wasnt able to, so I stepped out of the car and was still not able to lock the car. All I could do was lock from the inside the 3 other doors and manually lock the driver door. (and call a friend to pick me up!). So this evening I have tried again. still problems..
ok so i have a 2006 . the previous owner lost both key fobs and had to have a new one programmed . now there is no key for the door so if my fob battery dies im locked out .
question can a locksmith rekey or cut a key to fit the door.
