View 11 RepliesI have always seemed to have a moderate amount of water condensation on the glass inside the driver's side headlight. How does it get started and how do I rid myself of this small problem?

View 3 RepliesThere is water condensation (not much) behind the section of my drivers side headlight assembly where the turn signal is located and it REALLY bugs the hell out of me. The only way I could think it got there was when I was washing under the hood. The good news is the turn signal socket is easy to access and remove.

View 2 RepliesI have some condensation forming on the inside of the plastic cover over the HSI. Is there a way to remove the plastic cover to dry it off?
View 2 RepliesBack in July of last year, I installed the OEM foglight kit and replaced the lightbulbs with a pair of yellow Luminics JDM 55w H11 bulbs.
A few months later when it would rain or snow, condensation began appearing on the inside of the foglight lens on both sides. It would burn off when I left the foglights on for a while, but would reappear shortly thereafter. The driver's side would generally stay clear most of the time but the passenger side would always have moisture on the inside.
Then, a few months ago, the driver's side bulb seemed to burn out. Today, when I took them apart to reinstall the clear lightbulbs, it turns out that fluid (it actually looked like windshield washer fluid) had gotten inside the connector and shorted it out, actually melting some of the plastic to the contact. It took a while, but I was able to scrape off enough of the plastic from the contact to get it to work with the JDM bulb again.
I've had an issues with the drivers side light fogging up after damp nights or rain. The dealer replaced it under a TSB but it is still happening I've checked the 3 seals (low beam, high beam, small light on top) and replaced the high beam just to make sure. I'm about to replace the HID in hopes that moisture is getting in through it but for some reason I don't think so. The passenger side is fine and Yaris parked right next to it is fine also so I don't think this is "regular"condensation.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2008 prius that right after purchasing I found to have the condensation in the headlight problem, the dealer advised to replace the whole headlight assembly to avoid damage to the generator so I did. I did not have it done at the dealer due to the cost but at a prius certified mechanic at another location. Needless to say when he installed the headlight something was not done right and as a result the amber parking light is not coming on when the rest of the headlights are turned on.
I didn't notice this for a while and then when I did I neglected to get it fixed while under warranty for the labor. The strange thing is the light flashes when I lock and unlock my door, just won't come on with the other headlights. I tried replacing the bulb when I replaced my HID today but still the same result.
We just bought a new Prius II (2013) 6 days ago and had rain. We noticed condensation in both the front headlight and back tail light. This is under the plastic covering. This doesn't seem right. We searched and found a class action suit for the previous generation prius.
View 8 RepliesI have a 2002 that I recently "bumped" into a wall, requiring replacement of the drivers side headlight assembly (along with a little body work). The body shop said they would buff the passenger side lens to make it look just like the new one, but when I picked up the car the headlights looked like day and night. The foreman told me that they buffed the lens as best as they could, but the discoloration was on the inside and that there was no way to take the lens off the assembly. Is this true, or just trying to sell me another headlight assembly?
View 3 RepliesI've noticed that often in the morning, my Touareg has condensation forming on the inside of the front winshield. I don't drive the vehicle daily. I have looked for a moisture source inside of the vehicle but it is bone dry.
View 3 RepliesAs stated in the title I'm having condensation on the inside of the windshield, but I only notice it when I get off work and go out to start my car (I work second shift and get off at 11:30pm) but when i go out in the morning or afternoon I don't notice any. I pretty much roll everywhere with my windows up so I'm not getting rain in it other than when i open the doors to get in and out.
View 6 RepliesI get it every now and then in the mornings. Now I know I can just turn on my headlights and it goes away. But it's a brand new car.
I have xenons. Just wanted to see of this is common or not. Dealers solution was just that. Turn headlights on.
There's 2 small drips of dried water (and maybe soap) inside the upper half of my headlight on the glass. I first noticed this after I washed my car very thoroughly this weekend (I was spraying water on it for a long time). I suspect water/soap might have seeped through during the wash.
I know this is not supposed to happen, but is it a legitimate cause of concern? I'm thinking of letting this fly by, I can live with it, but perhaps not if it keeps happening every time I wash my car. Is it safe to wait on a trip to the dealership, or should I get it checked out right away?
BTW, I'm @ 30k miles
I just bought a new 2010 Prius IV and noticed after a good rain that the front left headlight assembly was showing some moisture fogging inside the lens. None of the other light assemblies showed any moisture.
View 6 RepliesI have the Chinese LED-stripe headlights, and I've been getting condensation in them lately. The weather hasn't been particularly warm, cold, or humid lately, but it happens every time I use them. It does evaporate over time, but it is quite a bit of moisture when it occurs (definitely noticeable, and dripping down the entire front inside the housing). With winter coming, I'm worried about this continuing to happen and freezing, etc. Is there something I might have done wrong when I installed them? This is not a case of water getting into the light housings--it almost seems like I need to do something to vent them, however, to see if that prevents the issue.
View 9 RepliesI seem to have a bit of condensation inside my headlights. Is this normal?... On a car that's not even a year old? Seems to only happen on days that are raining, very humid, or when I give it a wash. Basically anytime there's contact with water.
View 10 RepliesSo I started having the issue with my drivers side headlight going out and saw the many threads regarding issues with the bulbs and ballast.
I started out purchasing a new bulb, from ebay TOYOTA PRIUS GENIUNE PART PHILIPS D4R 42406 XENON HID HEADLIGHT LIGHT LAMP OEM
Came in "Toyota" box. Got the bulb in and still had issues with the light turning off... so then I bought the after market ballast and replaced it yesterday. Light still going off.... What to check? Just read the article regarding bulbs, going to pull out the one I just got and have a better look at it.... Not all HID Bulbs are created equal.
I have condensation inside my driver's side headlight on my 06 Passat. fix? New seal? Etc....
View 3 RepliesHow to get rid of humidity in headlight to stop condensation? I was installing LDRs and needed to hook up a wire to the side markers, when i put back the rubber on the back of the headlight i must of done it wrong because its not there anymore so i guess its sitting somewhere on the bottom of the engine bay.
However now some water must of gone in and my headlight looks like this : FILE0004 (2) by SpikeyBoi33, on Flickr ....
