Aug 18, 2015
The front fluid sprayer has never worked (owned my 2nd gen for about 3 months now @ 85k miles).

View 6 RepliesWhen I tried to spray fluid into front windshield fluid is coming out very very very little on left and right side wipers, do I need to add any liquid or any problem with that..?
View 9 RepliesI can hear the sprayer motor when I activate the toggle, but no spray from the squirters! (in the past I've encountered this on a honda, usually we'd just pull the squirter and soak it in a cup of solvent then pop it back on after shooting it black) but on the B6 it looks more complicated!!!
View 1 RepliesThe wipers work fine, but it isn't spraying washer fluid. It's 3 degrees outside. I am not sure if there is a fuse for the washer fluid sprayer motor...
View 27 RepliesI have an 05 F-150 SuperCrew XLT 4x4. I just went to use my wipers and its not spraying anything. The driver side nozzle drips a little bit out, the passenger side does nothing. I can hear the motor engage and there is fluid in the reservoir. I can't see any leaks.
View 10 RepliesSo I obviously checked the fluid levels and added plenty to make sure its not empty.. I don't know if there is some issue with a pump that needs to be warmed up first, or some ice buildup on the nozzles (obviously I didn't see any).
After driving for about 20 minutes it started spraying just fine. Although it doesn't seem to spray very well in the rear window. I'm wondering if it is just the cold temperatures (was around 0-5 at night) or if there is another issue.
My windshield washer does not spray when I pull the switch, the front and rear do no have any fluid spraying onto the window, I replaced the windshield washer pump with a new OEM, put fluid in the tank, I checked the fuses associated with the wiper blades. I don't think I can even hear the windshield washer pump when I pull on the switch, so could it be a connector issue? or some wiring issue?
View 3 RepliesI filled my washer tank full, when tried to spray, only the wiper moved but the solution never came.In the evening, i cleaned the spouts, with a tiny pin hoping that it will clear the dirt out, tried, didn't work either. Opened the hood, and saw the tank empty to my embarrassment. Is the pump broken, hose broken , what to look for and where and how to fix ?
View 6 RepliesMy rear windshield washer has stopped working, does the MkVI have a separate pump for the front and rear washer fluid sprayers? My front sprayer is still working, fluid is full, and I don't see any VCDS codes relating to the rear windshield washer motor. Since I am approaching a wet season, it would be best if the rear washer worked. I am still under warranty but just wanted to know if there are two sprayer pumps on our cars.
FWIW, I have not had a problem with the rear washer dripping and no TSB have been performed on the rear washer.
(04 FX4)... having issues with your windshield washer? The next to last time I used it, I got a dribble, so I figured that I needed fluid...added more fluid, but it was still half full, I pressed the button, I heard noise, probably the pump. but no fluid. Could it be something as simple as a clog? I could tear it apart.
View 12 RepliesOn my 2000 OHV Explorer the windshield washer just dribbles. I purchased a new pump and still dribbles.
I took the nozzles and pump from my 2000 SOHC Explorer that worked great and put them on the OHV one and still dribble.
I even cleaned out the lines first. How to get these to function properly?
I have an 09 Camry SE. My right windshield spray nozzle is not spraying, it's just flowing out. I ran a small wire down it and nothing changed. I called 2 dealers and looked up the part and there are 5 different angles listed the dealers said I had to remove it so they could match the angle for the pitch of the windshield. Seems ridiculous that they would not know, but the parts breakdown lists all 5.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix V6 and for some reason my washer fluid sprayer just stopped working. Yes, the fluid is full...hahaa. So anyways, I checked the fuses and they seem to be ok. What I can check before tearing it apart or bringing it in? How do you know if the motor is bad? Where is the motor located in this car? The wipers are working fine, but it'd be nice to clean the windows.
View 1 RepliesJust as the title states. The thing I'm wondering is how this happened; I haven't hit any hard bumps nor has the right front had any sort of collision. My guess is it started to leak out about 5 days ago which triggered the low washer fluid light and when I went to put more washer fluid in it tonight it just starts dripping (about half second intervals) out of the valence.
View 1 RepliesHave a 2011 Golf TDI hatchback. Located in Toronto, Canada where it's about - 20 Celsius with windchill today. Currently have no washer fluid coming through the front or rear nozzles. Thought I was out of fluid but tank is full. Tried piercing the nozzles but nothing changed and they don't look blocked. Don't think it's the weather either as my car is parked in my garage overnight. When I try to spray I can hear the mechanism trying to spray but nothing comes out.
View 10 RepliesSo my wife and I swap vehicles for one day and what happens? It snows like hell and she can't get any wiper fluid to come out!
I started some troubleshooting and missed some clear indicators of the problem.
->Rear fluid works
->No pump engagement when trying the front fluid
Wasn't sure if I had 1 or 2 pumps (separate front and back or just one) so I bought one, tore out the reservoir (that air intake was a tough one), swapped the pumps and PRESTO! Still didn't work.
This leads me to believe I should have realized it was switch/power related all along. I don't mind tearing things apart, but I'm not good with electrical. Should I just buy a new whole stock and see if that works? My fuse isn't blown and seems to also be for the power windows, which do work, so I think I should be fine from that point.
Noticed that the windshield washer fluid level is ALWAYS low, needing significant amount to refill, even when not used? I'm not talking weeks or months, so that evaporation could be the cause, but rather DAYS. No evidence of leaks under vehicle, either. What could do this?
View 18 RepliesThe outlet holes do not appear to be blocked and I cannot hear a pump motor running when trying to clean the rear window. Is there a separate pump to supply fluid to the rear window?
View 3 RepliesCurios problem with my car. When I spray washer fluid quickly the wipers do not start. I can literally empty litres of fluid on the windshield and they still will not activate. Now on other cars I have had you can play chicken and pull quickly on the lever and this I can do a off a couple of times without activating the wipers but not constantly. I had it in for service and the mechanic said he has never seen this problem before and does not even know how to fix it. It does get annoying that you have to waste a lot more fluid to activate the wipers "auto" function by holding it on a few seconds longer than needed.
View 7 RepliesLooks like the gasket/seal for my rear wiper fluid line is bad. Fluid leaking/spraying out of the back. Nothing major but it's having to wipe off the fluid so often. And another reason to delete my rear wiper...
View 1 Repliesi was a few mins early for work so I was just sitting in my car with the engine off...out of nowhere I heard a noise from under the hood...it sounded like a loud spraying noise with a lot of pressure. I opened the hood and finally found the problem. A hose popped off and yellow fluid was spraying out along with a lot of air. I clamped the hose back on to where it belongs and it was secured right away. There is, however a crack in the hose.
I know it's not coolant because the coolant is pink. I saw a thread that suggests it could be power steering fluid, but I haven't noticed any problems with my steering. I also saw a threat that suggests an AC leak.... What this is?
