First time I see an error code 7.5 years into the car.
I'm hoping I can get some diagnostic insight into a problem I just started seeing on my 2007 Prius. I have had the Prius for a little over 4 years. Currently around 123K miles.
Starting two days ago I noticed when I started driving that the engine was constantly running and when pulling out from a stop sign just up the road from my house the acceleration was sluggish. I look at the MFD and see the hybrid battery is nearly drained. Unusual because it was blue or green when I parked the night before. Driving for a few minutes, the battery fills back up and driving is normal. The only warning light is for a tire pressure sensor which just started to come on that day. Over the last two days I get the same thing at start up. Hybrid battery is drained. Lights aren't left on over night. Tire sensor light is constantly on but I checked the tires and pressure is good all around. Nothing plugged in anywhere to drain battery. The 12V battery was replaced maybe a year or so ago with an Optima yellow top, so not likely the issue. I checked diagnostic codes in the MFD and came up with a lot of codes:
LAN Monitor EMV:
01-DB 190- 40- 5
01-DE 178- FA-1
01-DB1F1- E5- 4
01-DB 110- 8A- 7
01-DB 178- 46- 3
LAN Monitor NAVI:
01-E3 - 00- F
This is a 2006 prius with 180k on it, that we have had since 2007 and it has been wrecked. (hit a deer) It had problems when the coolant flow control was hooked up in reverse after it got back from the body shop, but the toyota dealership fixed it. 12v battery replaced a year ago and showing 12.7v with no drain and 11.9 with a drain, on the onboard monitor.
My wife got gas yesterday and after restarting the prius, the dash lit up like a Christmas tree. ESV, Check Engine, RED TRIANGLE of Impending Doom. It was also sluggish(hybrid drive didn't seem to work, only gas) and did not seem to charge the battery. Also the battery fan was very loud but working fine. These were the same symptoms exhibited when the flow valve was reversed. Also the battery was showing 1 bar of charge when she got home. The cruise control would also not work.
So now, I take it to the parts store and connect the computer and get these codes
c1289 MV System Regen Malfunction Current
1310 Malfunction system current
p0a80 Replace Hybrid Battery
P3022 Battery Block 12 weak
p1116 Coolant temperature sensor stack
p1121 coolant flow control valve
I know that the p0a80 is bad and the p3022 means there is a weak cell, but I am having trouble here:
On the way back from the store, the hybrid battery charged into the green, which it WOULD NOT do earlier, but the hybrid drive did not seem to be pulling the car. The car cranks and gas engine runs fine.
I was wondering quite a few things here.
Would the coolant codes be remnants of the last problem and not deleted from last time?
The codes had no date that I saw.
Its just that all these errors and symptoms together make no sense when I am trying to troubleshoot and figure out a course of action.
I need to find the correct troubleshooting procedures for the following cel codes, before I go out and get a expensive used ABS Pump Complete Brake Booster Master Cylinder.
C1201
C1223
C1252
C1256
C1337

Have a 2000 Passat V6 5spd. Recently ran the codes, and this is what I came up with under engine.

Do these components share a common ground, or connector, I imagine it is a simple fix. just wiggle fuse, or ecu connector?
What does that ZVW30 mean exactly and is that the code for a 2015?
If not, what is it's code?
When setting up blutooth, only a handful of my contacts transferred to the car. Why or how to get the entire list to transfer over??
View 13 RepliesI listen to long mp3 podcasts burned to a cd in my 2008 Prius (non-DVD). The file list button in the upper right corner of the screen is often grayed out. Occasionally it lights up and I can use it but most of the time I can't. What's going on here?
View 5 RepliesI recently bought a Prius 3 and am very happy with its mechanical performance and fuel efficiency, but the driver interface sucks for the electronics. I'm used to my 2008 Mercedes S550, which may be an unfair comparison, but I really hate having to take my eyes off the road and reach across the dash to use a touch screen. I do like filling the tank for $25 rather than $70, though
I have tried a few voice commands with mixed results. Sometimes I get the requested result, sometimes I get a random (or no) response, and sometimes I strangely get a message to the effect that this function is not available while driving, even though I can get it via touch-screen while driving.
I found on the Mercedes there are a few commands I use often, and a huge number that I have no interest in. They are easy to find from either a tree structure in the manual or an alphabetized list grouped by the subsystem.
From searching the manual and the various Prius forums it appears that there is no readily-available comprehensive list of commands. The manual seems to give only examples and implies that you can step through the on-screen menu trees by voice, giving occasional examples. But I've had very little success with that. I also don't like having to take my eyes off the road to read the list at each level or having the car speak the list, which is way too slow. Both take too much concentration away from driving. With the Mercedes I can usually activate a command directly even if it is several levels down in a tree (e.g. "navigate to <a stored destination>") while an audio screen is displayed.
I have found a few lists online, but they don't agree with each other and seem to be from 5-10-year-old models. In general, they seem to list far more commands than I see on my screens.
In my Prius 2005 BC, I enjoyed having the turn list posted on the right hand side of the nav screen. I noticed on my 2016 Prius Four ATP that all I saw were freeway exit lists and the occasional upcoming turn screen. I opened my trusty "Navigation System Owner's Manual" to page 199 and read about Map Mode. I see clearly that Option 4 is the turn list, but on my screen only the first 3 options are present. Is there some thing else that needs to be selected to have option 4? BTW: this is a US market vehicle.
View 8 RepliesI'm going to look at an 05 prius tomorrow and the seller said there is a check engine code. If I had a list with description I can at least know if it could be serious. He said the car drives fine and everything works. Not sure if there is a difference in codes for engine versus the hybrid part of the car .
View 1 RepliesI have a two week old 2012 Prius and it was working fine before, except for the occaisonal hang-up, but now it won't play at all. Just says it's "buffering" and "retrieving song list".
View 11 RepliesI recently purchase camry 09 and when I did the computer for the car it returns me P0012 and C0205 errors. I have searched for P0012 error and got an idea to check the oil control valve. but for C0205, what exactly I have to check for?
View 2 RepliesI have an old Autolite, tag reads- C9AF C C 9E 16. Need to break that down? Just wondering what it came off of.

View 1 RepliesI have no problem connecting my Iphone 4 to the car for making calls. Everything on that end works! I just can't seem to get my music to stream. Was able to get my wife's iPhone 4 to stream but can't figure out how we did it. I cleared here phone out and just trying to figure out mine.
View 2 RepliesI just purchased a brand new 2014 ES 350. How to delete numbers from the Call History. I'd actually like to be able to delete a particular number from the list and/or clear the list completely.
View 2 RepliesI have 04 Touareg with Tire pressure monitor and etc.
Yesterday I've got an ugly "running gear" stop fault and after reading the forums perform "close the doors and push for few seconds the lock suspension button" and the issue went away. Then I went to MFI and notice that the menu option "Tire pressure" disappeared from the menu list. I check the tire-pressure system it worked, but menu item still not there. How I can get the item back?
When driving on a freeway, the navigation system splits the screen to show a list of upcoming freeway exits. For some reason, the list does not show major interstate highway exits, e.g I95, I495. So, for example, if the exit for I95 is exit 5, the list goes from exit 4 right to exit 6 without listing exit 5.
I have read every page of the owners manual several time looking for a setting that may correct this, and have searched Toyota Nation archives looking for a solution, but I can't find anything.
This is for a 2014 Avalon Limited.
I have a 2012 V with the HDD Navigation.
In Boston (and I presume in other large cities) there are roads that have the same house number across various zip codes. So, for example, 235 Washington Street can be found in 3 distinct zip codes in the same city (Boston). I would like to be able to put in the zip code for the address I want to go to. Right now it gives me my the completely useless latitude and longitude coordinates (with great precision, I might add!). My authorized Toyota dealer could not figure out how to change it to show the zip code associated with the address I just entered.
