This is a 2008 Prius with no check engine light or other operational issues. The car runs fine. When doing a health check with a Techstream scanner (new toy), it shows the code U0073 along with U0123, 124, 126, and 293. Need to further diagnose what may be wrong?
View 7 RepliesI have an 04 V6, yesterday it was perfectly fine...last night we had torrential down pours, high winds and standing water... not sure if any of that matters, but this morning I went to take the kids to school and my "BRAKE" light, the ABS light, and the exhaust lights were all on. Took it to a local shop and had them check for codes. They said it was U0121... lost communication with ABS module. What should I do? I drove it a couple of miles back to the house and again earlier this evening to see if anything felt different, but all seems the same.

But how did you resolve problem? replaced GPCM, found open circuit, short --if so where?-- or replaced with updated harness.

When I try to connect to module 9 via vag-com to add DRL and TPS to my menu I keep getting the error on my laptop. How can I fix this? Also how do I remove the acceptance screen from an '06 DVD NAV?
View 4 RepliesMy 2007 Camry SE has an intermittent electrical issue. The problem started yesterday, no accidents of any time ever in the car. 195,000 miles on car.
As I was driving along the speedometer, tachometer, temp gauge all started bouncing. Simultaneously the ABS and Emergency brake light came on. The engine did not change, still drove fine. I got the code U0073. I checked a couple obvious fuses like ABS and Alternator as well as cleaning the contacts on the computer at the actuator. I've also checked my battery terminals -- fine.
I am hoping to narrow something down other than just going straight to replacing that ECU by the actuator. That is an expensive part not to be 100% sure of it, but as it stands now I would almost rather it be something "simple" like that because chasing these electrical phantoms is quite aggravating.
Also all the items I have focused are based off the assumption it is something electrical revolving around the ABS unit. Is it possible the instrument cluster is the culprit, wiring in the harness or a simple fuse related to that panel?
I recently received an airbag fault light so I figured that I would scan the module for error codes. This is what I came up with:

Has scanned the car while had the airbag fault present and if so, is this the usual harness that needs to be changed?
Against my better judgement I picked up the ex wifes 2001 Prius after the "mechanic" she took it to ran the HV battery dead. I picked up two Gen II batteries and built me a good battery. Then I cleaned all the corrosion off the harness and terminals and put the HV battery back in. The engine spins but dies. There are no engine codes but under the HV ECU cattegory I get a {P3106 communication malfunction, engine > HV}. I had a spare HV ECU and swapped it and get the same code. Spare engine ECU and the same code also. Not sure where to go from here. How to check voltages at the ECM ?

The remaining issue is the mentioned A/C error code: B1498 A/C Communication malfunction (A/C inverter local)
What part this is, and the OEM part number? Where is it located in the car?
Previous owner claimed it was some error with the A/C Control unit.
I have a 2013 VW Passat TDI SE DSG and I was trying to do some tweaks. I found this fault code yesterday and cleared it. I scanned it again this morning and it popped up again. I searched and did not foud anything. No check engine light.

Truck seems to be driving fine (except it just recently developed what I think is either the cam phaser tick or an exhaust manifold leak on the passenger side).

I have a 2002 7.3L and keep throwing a P0683 code (Glow Plug control module to PCm comm circuit). I have looked though all the Forum posts I could and it looks like the GPR, or the GPCM, or harness are at fault. I know my truck has the GPCM ... does it also have a GPR? I am not getting ANY individual GP failure codes, but the damn thing is having a hell of a time starting in the cold.
1) How do I determine if the GPCM is bad?
2) If I have a bad ground?
3) Bad connector to GPCM connection?
4) If something is wrong with the wiring harness itself
Last night I unplugged the harness from the GPCM, cleaned the connectors, added di-electric grease to improve the connections .. made no difference.
I have a 2012 6.7 with a Spartan tuner. Threw this code a few months ago. Reset everything, trucks runs great, no issues. Never had this code come up again. I've looked it up and it says, "Internal Control Module Torque Performance". I'm just not sure what this means.
View 2 RepliesI bought a 2012 Prius C with 17,000mi on it in February this year(2015). The body control module apparently went out about a month after buying the car. The start-up screen would not say "ready" and shortly after turning the power on, the warning came on: stop the car immediately, something wrong with hybrid system, get to nearest dealer, etc.! it also appeared there were suddenly a number of other malfunctions in various systems as various warnings came up, one of which concerned the power steering.

Fuses visually look ok (I don't have a tester) and they had been working previously. I live on Molokai - no prius mechanic on the island so I do my own repair when I can - how to diagnose the problem?
View 4 RepliesSo I swapped an R motor into my 20th anniversary GTi. It idles fine as soon as I rev it and the idle comes back down it starts breaking up and I get a code for exhaust flap no communication. Of course, there is no communication since I don't have one. Is there a way to code this out or to trick the ECU to make it think its there? As soon as i clear the code the car runs fine, even if I just turn the car off and back on, it runs fine.
View 24 Replies2007 Prius with 112k. It's getting the red triangle and check engine with code P3012. My understanding is P3012 points to 'Battery Block 2 Becomes Weak'. Battery block 2 is the 3rd and 4th modules counting from the end where the ECU is. These two modules test out the same as the other 26 modules in this pack, ranging from 7.40 to 7.46.
I got them this low by running A/C on high with car in neutral, hoping the bad module would show up. (Neutral prevents engine from charging HV battery.)
What would make the OBD II not read the code that is set on my truck. It says "Communication Error..." Fuse 41 grants power to the Diagnostics port and the cigarette lighter. The cigarette lighter is working. Any other reasons I can look at?
