When I started yesterday the red triangular warning light, circular yellow light with exclamation symbol in center, and vsc warning lights did not go off. No previous problem with these. Top half of display screen blank. Vehicle started/ran normally. No change in handling or braking. On highway, cruise control would not activate.

I thought it was a relatively easy install, but then after putting the airbag in place, I find that the horn no longer works. I test out the cruise control, and the green "Cruise" lights up on the dashboard..but it doesn't actually work.
View 9 RepliesThis morning (roughly freezing temperature - nothing out of the ordinary after the brutal winter we just had) got onto the highway to head to work and set the cruise control (as normal) at approx 110km/h (65mph) and after several seconds heard a distinct, quite unpleasant grinding noise. It was loud enough to be heard over the heater and radio. Turned the heater and radio off to listen closer and didn't like the sound of it - sounded like metal on metal.
There was no different feel in the floor, pedals or steering wheel. As soon as I turned cruise control off, the noise disappeared! Turned cruise control back on, and the noise returned approx 5 seconds later. If I continued driving along normally and sustained a certain speed, the noise would appear after 5 seconds again and only go away once I lifted off the gas or coasted down a hill... Very bizarre. Once I got to work and poked my head underneath didn't immediately notice anything out of the ordinary - no funny smells or anything...
Background info: 2011 FX4 ecoboost, crew cab. Stock, no modifications. Approx 134,000km (~80,000 miles)...
My Prius is a 2009 with 30,000 miles.
Have just begun to have an intermittent problem with the cruise control (has happened twice in past month -- never happened before).
Turn cruise control on, but it will not set. Turning off cruise control and turning it back on didn't solve the problem. However, stopping and turning the vehicle completely off and turning it back on did solve the problem. The second time this occurred (this morning), the engine sounded like it was revving and seemed somewhat sluggish (not what you'd expect if the engine was revving). Not revving real fast, but noticeable.
I have a 2006 Prius and was just on vacation for two weeks and my Prius was stored in my garage. My wife just drove the Prius about 6 miles and all the dash lights came on. The car still drives, but the cruise control won't engage. A few months back I replaced the aux 12 V battery as it somehow died, so I don't think that is the problem. When the car is off, the aux battery voltage is 12.5 volts. When it is running the voltage is 13.9 volts.
I disconnected the aux battery and then reconnected it and all the problems went away for a while. Cruise control worked again, too. I just drove it a few more miles and it happened again and just as I got home to go up my steep driveway it would only go about 3 mph. Is that the "limp mode" I have heard about? What this might be? All the dash light are lit - red triangle, check engine, VSC, Brake System, etc. I am a newbie to this site, but I did a search and didn't find much that sounded like this problem. All the lights came on previously when my aux battery died, but the car wouldn't start, so this is somewhat different.
My 2010 Subaru Outback recently surprised the hell out of me by simultaneously turning on the brake warning light, the traction control light, the check engine light and (just for a bonus!) disabled my cruise control while flashing the cruise control light. I pulled over, quickly surmising that all of those systems could not have failed at 70 MPH without instantaneous death to either me or the vehicle. Both apparently still being alive, I tried turning the car on an off to reset the lights. No go. Subaru was not going to miss this chance to get me to the dealership! (who I had avoided to this point!) As I was far away from home and the car being very healthy, it seemed, I decided to drive on. I proceeded to put a couple of hundred more miles on the car before I got back to town.
My car had 39,000 miles on it, 3,000 miles beyond the warranty end. I learned that I have an error code of P0171, "Fuel Trim Malfunction (Air/Fuel too lean)". So I guess I'm wondering about a few things...why would this sensor set off every light on my dashboard and disable my cruise control? Seems a bit overblown for running a bit lean. My gut tells me Subaru has a sensor/software problem they are not owning up to. I'm a big fan of conspiracy theories and this really smells like one...
Second, jeez, I'm only 3K miles over warranty, don't you think they'd cut me some slack. I mean I love my Subaru, or did anyway, until this happened. Now it's just another POS car that breaks for no apparent reason...
My college son's 2014 Charger V6 has developed three issues since he purchased it used in late May. The cruise control has stopped working and the anti lock brake and traction control lights are constantly on. Any possible cause?

View 14 RepliesStarted my 2010 Prius the other day and the traction control, brake light, abs light and a yellow Astrix light came on and wouldn't go off. The car drives and handles just fine, brakes feel normal. I have tried resetting the lights with a trick with a paper clip someone else posted, but it didn't work for me.
View 7 RepliesI have been using ACC a lot during my daily commute, it's really an effortless way to drive the car on a daily basis.
One of the issues I have been running into with it is that sometimes when the car in front (recognized by radar) accelerates and immediately decelerates to a quick stop my Sonata's ACC does not react and apply the brakes fast enough. The car will basically apply some braking power (~50%) while very quickly approaching the car in front, all the while triggering the rapid beeping of the Collision Detection system. Everytime this happens I have always had to manually intervene and apply the necessary braking power to stop short of hitting the car in front. This is pretty ridiculous to me since if the car KNOWS that it will crash without additional braking, and has the ability to apply the brakes, why doesn't it do so properly?
I have a 2013 Avalon Hybrid and am having trouble while using the cruise control. The "sensor needs cleaning" goes off although the sensor has been cleaned several times. Also, the sensor sometimes doesn't register a vehicle in front of me. The Avalon has been looked over by the dealer (several times), the sensor was replaced but the problem persists. Because it works periodically, it's difficult to diagnose a problem. Also, the PCS warning goes off periodically. Not sure if that's a related problem. It has gone off while driving through an intersection with traffic sensors (not consistently).

I did a search...saw something about a brake light recall? However didn't find an answer to this combination of things. The only mod under the hood I have is a p-flo intake. What might be up?
View 17 RepliesAfter install. of a non original cruise control unit, the yellow eng. warning light is on all the time, my trip/fuel computer does not work, and the engine cuts out when driving, just for a sec, then it runs again. An OBD test says "speed sensor fault". My mechanic have not been able to find the problem.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2009 Mercury Milan. Ever since I have had the car I have had a problem with the cruise control suddenly turning off. It is erratic and will happen usually once on a two hour trip on the highway day or night. And it completely turns off - no RESUME. It never puts up any codes that the dealer can see. The dealer will not do anything because they cannot duplicate the problem. They tried once on a short 5 mile drive but they would have to take it on the highway and drive it for at least one half hour to an hour. They said there were no similar problems reported through Mercury. They initially suggested that perhaps I was accidentally hitting the brake pedal but I have been acutely aware of where my feet are when it happens and it is not me. And anyway this would not explain the fact that it turns off completely. My warranty is going to run out in several months and I would like to get this fixed before it does.
View 8 RepliesMy wife has a 2009 Camry LE, 4cyl with approximately 63,000 miles on it. Yesterday when driving it, I went to turn the cruise control off and my finger slipped, causing the button to pop out. Both of us have tried to fix it and I know I tried at least three or four different ways to reinstall the little three prong copper piece and no luck. The cruise control still refuses to work.
Having problem with the button popping out and been able to fix it? If so, how did you fix it? I hope it's something simple, such as re-installing the copper piece a certain way.
So I think I've seen the first issue out of my truck this morning. On the way into work I couldn't get the cruise control to function. This is a big deal to me, after a back surgery a few years ago it gets painful really quickly when I have to ride the gas pedal for more than a few minutes. Four hours later my back and leg are still bothering the heck out of me.

The Cruise Control on my truck works intermittently. Sometimes it cuts out when I am driving and sometimes it fails to work at all (usually in the morning). Sometimes it will re engage if it cuts out and sometimes it will not re engage for hours.

Should we always use tow haul when towing? Should we use it only on hills? Can we use cruise control at the same time as we are using tow haul?
View 11 RepliesI have a1994 Dodge 1500 Ram Hemi extra cab 4door. The brake lights on the bed of the truck not the high light will blink on and off and sometimes stay on the other day my son-in-law narrowed the truck and a trailer and the trailer also blinked but again not the high light. Also the cruise has stopped working about the same time this started. At one time it was infrequent now is most of the time. Wondering if it could be part of the alarm system or something else it is driving me crazy.
View 4 RepliesMy engine and cruise control lights keep flashing....This happens intermittently (been going on like this for several months). I took it to my mechanic and he cleared the computer...was fine for awhile...but happening again. Mechanic said that if it happened again, it might be the catalytic converter. I hope not b/c this is a very expensive part to replace!!! Is my mechanic correct or could it be something else?
