I had my car serviced a few weeks ago and realized that one of my Smart Keys (the one I was using when I drove to the dealership) no longer works with the car. It won't unlock the doors or start the car (neither wirelessly nor when plugged in to the dash). The other fob works fine. Are there any scenarios where a Smart Key fob gets rejected from the system?

Smart key works with doors, trunk.
1. checked the Smart Function is On (KEY button not depressed)
2. Change new 3V battery inside the remote
The DC Power/cigarette lighter no longer works. When I plug in a phone charger it lights up for a split second then goes out. This leads me to believe it is not a fuse because I don't think it would get any power at all...but I'm not sure and I don't even know where to look for the fuse to check it.

View 6 RepliesI have a 2007 Prius 2, the key will not open the doors, so I went to the store replaced the remote battery but it is still not working. The light on the remote lights up as usual. I can get in using the small metal key, the car starts and everything seem to be working fine with the smart key plugged in. The 12v battery seems to be fine as all the lights work when the car is off. What this might be?

View 5 RepliesI pulled it out last week to fix my aftermarket reverse monitor, so when i pulled the console i tested the light make sure i didn't screwed up anything. Then it was turned on for 2 seconds and slowly died. Since then, none of the button work !!! no sunroof, no homelink, nothing.
I've checked fuse already, 27, 35, 36 I believe. i replaced them all, still not working.
My speedometer no longer works. A mechanic had the dash out but said I would need a new instrument cluster. However, as I told him, it started failing whenever it rained. Once the car dried out, the speedometer would work again. For awhile anyway but now it's not working at all. I'm thinking there's a sending unit maybe on the transmission that's faulty?

This only happens for the driver seat, passenger seat works fine. Why this might be?
Which way can I go here for a spare key fob that no longer works? Will I have to buy a brand new one or can I just replace the battery inside?

What powers the light, is there a specific part of the cylinder I need to check or replace or do I have to replace the whole cylinder. Would a another cylinder I pick up from the junk yard work?

View 17 RepliesIt happened almost a week ago and had plenty of time to dry out. I heard that the keys will usually come back to life but unfortunately mine did not. Tried changing the battery too. No luck. The key still works in the door. It's an annoyance not being able to open the trunk or lock/open all doors remotely.
Are there any alternative ways to do this cheaper that I'm overlooking? There are wireless keys on ebay that can be bought. But is there a way to get them programmed other than going to the VW dealer and getting fleeced?
I have a 2002 Ford explorer sport. The liftgate handle no longer works. I took the rear panel off thinking it was one of the rods' clips were broken off. As it turns out it is the little pivoting bolt that attaches to the handle. It wasn't broken, but just disconnected from the handle. I reconnected it and it worked for about 6 or 7 opens and then it popped out of the handle again. I reconnected it and this time it only stayed in for 2 opens. What do I do here? Is there a way to buy that little yellow clip that connects the pivot bolt to the handle? Do I have to get this from a dealer or can I get it from an autoparts store? Or, can I just fix it somehow and not have to buy anything? Also, what is it called so I can describe it without a 30 minute story and sounding like a layman?

Verizon Samsung S5 and a 2014 ES 300h. Phone has Android 4.4.4 with the latest Lexus Enform app. I've deleted and repaired the bluetooth connection and reloaded the Lexus app on my phone.
Also, bluetooth will randomly disconnect when making calls occasionally.
I have a 2006 elantra. I just got it back from having a new clutch put in. My passenger side headlight, low beam, no longer works. I tried two different new bulbs and it still doesn't work. All the other lights on the car are working, including the high beam and running light on the passenger side. Is there something that would have been disconnected when they replaced the clutch? Is there something I should check?
View 1 RepliesI have a 2002 Hyundai Accent. The press button inside the car no longer works so the A/C has been stuck ON for some time now. I don't live in a hot area so going without A/C wouldn't bother me too much. Is there an easy (read cheap) way to simply turn off the A/C from under the hood? My brother says he wants to remove the A/C belt but his knowledge of cars is often dicey. Might fix the problem, might blow up the car.
View 8 RepliesI had four tires replaced and my oil changed on my 2007 Prius. When I picked up my car, it no longer recognized the signal from my key. I could enter the car by pushing the unlock button and drive it by putting the key in the slot, but it won't work remotely. My second key also doesn't work. The tire shop insists this has nothing to do with the service they provided. I disagree and expect them to pay for the dealer to reset the signal. How this could happen? The key has been working fine before the tire replacement and oil change.
View 5 RepliesI've been noticing some issues with the touchscreen on my 2007 Gen2. Sometimes when I touch the screen, the unit doesn't respond. Other times, I need to touch slightly above the area I am supposed to touch in order to get the correct response. It doesn't happen all the time, but more than just occasionally. I asked my local dealership about it and they say the screen probably needs to be replaced. I've also heard that perhaps recalibrating the screen could work.

It worked fine when I first got It, but after dealing with no AC I decided to try disconnecting the battery and It works. The problem Is when I stop at a light a red triangle shows up on the dash board and If I turn off the car I would have to disconnect and reconnect the battery In order for It to work.
View 3 RepliesToday I locked my Camry by pressing the button on the outside door handle and it worked perfectly. About an hour later, I tried opening the door and it wouldn't unlock. I took my door key out of the smart key fob and unlocked the doors manually. I then tried to start the car and got the message "Key Is Not Detected". I held the smart key infront of the push button start and waited for it to beep, then started the car. The message center displayed "Key Is Not Detected" the entire time I was driving.
I figured that the battery was dead in the smart key, so I stopped by Radio Shack and bought a new battery, replaced it, and tried to use it to unlock and start the car. Same thing happened again. I drove home, once again, with the message "Key Is Not Detected" the whole way home. When I got home, I went inside and got my second smart key. I tried to use it on the car, and the exact same thing happened. I have done research, and I haven't been able to find any answers as to what could be causing this issue. I can't even lock or unlock the car by pressing the buttons on either of the smart key remotes. It's a 2007 Camry Hybrid with every option available and 114,000 miles on it.
