I currently have a 2006 Prius with the built in navigation. Today when I start up the car, the map display is in a repeated loop of "System Loading.... Don't turn power off".
It has been working since I got the car, and I have done a map update a couple years back but it has been working until now. Everything else in the display appears to work (Engine screen, Weather, Audio, etc).
I have a 2012 Prius and when i press "Map" it won't open. It is stuck on loading page and spinning icon.
View 8 RepliesI have a first-gen iPod Touch running iOS 3.1.3. When I got my Prius C 3 about 3 weeks ago, I was able to plug the iPod in to the USB and it worked great; album art, voice control, everything. A few days ago I finally decided to try out Entune by pairing with my Android phone. That worked fine, but ever since then I have been unable to use my iPod. When I connect the iPod it will sometimes start playing the last track that was active, but when I press Browse or try to change songs, I get a spinning disc image on the screen and it says "Loading" but never finishes. Also I noticed that when I connect the iPod it now says "Accessory Connected" on the iPod screen and asks me if I want to install an app, which it never did before.
If I had to take a guess, I'd say it looks like the audio system is trying to communicate with the Entune app on the iPod. However the Entune app isn't installed so it just hangs forever waiting for a response. And I can't install the Entune app because it requires a newer version of iOS than my device supports. Is there any way that I can get the audio system to go back to its previous behavior of treating my iPod Touch like just a regular iPod?
I have a 2010 Prius with about 85000 miles on it and I have gotten the message "System loading don't turn off power" when starting the car, twice in the past month. No other problems starting. It starts fine and runs fine. What does this message mean?
View 3 RepliesI got the car running again, so no need to go into details on that (I used the physical key on the keyfob, you really do have to turn it further than you'd think, but that got me into the car, after several tries was able to get it to stop cycling through the locking/unlocking and was able to jump it).
Got the 12v battery in my Prius replaced by the dealership in the last 2 years. Last winter, one day my Prius refused to start even though it had been running fine earlier that day and was parked in a semi-heated garage. Jumped it and got it working.
Last Friday I went to get out of my car and my Prius kept beeping at my any time I had the door open, and the clock on the dash seemed to be a little dim. I doubled checked that the keyfob was in my pocket (and not in the holder thingy), eventually the car seemed to lock fine and I went up to my apartment. Didn't drive the car until this morning.
This morning I come down to find that keyless entry does not work, nor does pressing the unlock button on the keyfob. (The car is parked in heated underground parking fyi.) About every 1 second on repeat, the car is making this sound like it makes when you hit the lock/unlock button from the inside of the car, so it seemed like it was stuck in an endless loop of locking or unlocking. I go back upstairs, leave my key fob in my apartment (which is around 300 meters away or so), come back down - it's still on the loop making that sound.
I get into the car with the physical door key, try starting it - the lights will come on but the car doesn't seem to actually start. And the endless lock/unlock loop starts up against once I turn the car "off". I got upstairs and switch to my other backup keyfob. Come back down. Car is still in the endless loop. Try to start it again, car still doesn't seem to start, but this time when I turn it "off" the endless lock/unlock cycle finally stops. Do finally get it running by jumping the battery, then it seems to run fine.
So I bring it to the dealer, and the guy their rather vehemently insist there must be something wrong with my keyfob. First he immediately confidently assures me that I just need to replace the battery in the keyfob, which makes no sense. Then he changes to saying he thinks the lock button on the keyfob was stuck down, which doesn't make sense either as like I said it continued doing it even when I removed any keyfob from being anywhere near the car.
The navigation system always directs me to take every exit off a freeway. Should I delete all my "marks" in the system or is there something more I can do?

Live data readings from vehicle continuously indicates "open loop- driving" for the Fuel System Status (Fuel System 1) . During idle and on open high way driving as 120 km for 10 minutes. I use an ELM327 diagnostic device with ScanMaster-EL 2.2 software.
After establishing this initially I disconnected the battery to do a complete ECU reset. I do not get error codes.
O2 Sensor1 Bank1 constantly reported as 1.275 V and sensor 2 as 0.02 V. I believe however the constant readings are as as a result of being in open loop.
No error codes reported.
The software report OBD1 ability on the diagnostic link.
During driving I got the following readings:
Fuel System 1: open loop-driving
Fuel System 2: not supported.
Calculated load: 6.27 to 83.14, avg 40.6
Fuel trims: 0
RPM: 1008 to 3988, avg 2407
Speed (km/h): 0 to 122, avg 77.66.
Timing Advance #1 degrees: 7 to 44 degrees, avg 22.42
Intake Air Temp (degrees C). 19 to 24
Air Flow Rate - (g/s): 3.18 to 69.27, avg 25.46
The software reports that the O2 Sensor bank 2 is not supported. I am not certain whether I should trust the software. In South Africa cats are not mandatory, hence is it possible explanation.
2) Is it possible to send a command on OBD to force closed loop?
Just received a new Edge CS programmer for my 2004 F150 w/ 5.4L.. Updated fusion software and tried to install but all i get is blank gauges and a eternal "loading" message. How to deal with this?
View 2 Replies1997 7.5, 5spd, s/d system. With my scanner hooked up driving @ wot the pcm goes into closed loop, you can actually feel the power loss. live data shows stft subtracting fuel and injector pulse dropping to 16.2 ms from 21ms.
From what I could understand is that it is some type of emissions strategy from the pcm, how to over ride it.
Every so often my entire Navigation system becomes unusable. The screen freezes, and audio shuts off. The screen can be turned off, but the only way to get it back working again is to turn car off for about 2 minutes and then it goes back to normal.
I can't tell if it's from overheating or not?
The car is a 2010 w/ under 3,000 miles on it. I am debating waiting until my first service and have them just look at it then. (I have full extended warranty - I am on the road a lot so I always buy them).
Inserted updated nav disc as directed in nav disc slot, closed door. Now the disc is stuck in the scan-disc mode and the load/eject button doesn't work on it. Wondering if there is a way to force eject the disc or other way to unstick it. You can hear the disc 'whirring' briefly as if it is trying to eject, but is stuck. It does this over and over. That's the only sound; none of the other buttons are responsive.
View 1 RepliesMy sister says that her navigation has been going out. She brought the car to the dealership and they said her entire nav system needs to be replaced. They can give her a refurbished unit for $800 + labor. The symptoms are as follows:
The screen will turn black but she can still hear the voices. The screen will come back on its own. She also gets an error message "external system not connected". She says that this could happen at any time, not just when the navigation system is being used. Also when this does happen it is as if the whole system crashes because she cannot control the AC heat and the radio goes out.
In my research i would say this was a nav ECU problem but I want to double check and so I am posting. I would like to know if the ECU from other model years can be used (assuming you carry over the same DVD version).
I started my Prius and the Navigation Display open on it's own without me touching any buttons as though it wanted me to load a CD. Now it is stuck in the open position and the CD player is making noises like a CD is stuck but do not have a CD in the player.
I have hit every button to try to get it to close, no luck. It is stuck on the FM station I was listening to and will change stations or to AM, CD, SAT. I turned the car on and off several times just stuck open.
I am not sure what kind of Prius I have. There is no MAP button on the dash. I was wondering if it was possible if there was a program I could install so I can have a GPS system.

View 4 RepliesMy 2012 PIP has the GPS nav system and if I want to shut it off before my destination I can't find out how to do it! I can't find anything on it in my Owners Manual either. I do not see a "Del. Destination" to press and I do not have a "Stop Guidance" to press either.
View 10 RepliesI have a 2010 prius with the navigation package in the last month the compass goes berserk and the the navigation gets completely lost. I have done the recalibration and it may work for an hour or a day then just start wondering.
The xm radio works fine and when I get into the system check page by pressing info while turning the light switch from off to side lights four times all the systems say they are OK and the gyro voltage and direction looks good. This problem is with the original map cd and the versionb11.1 cd.
I have the IV, with navigation. My most recent sound is from the cd player. If you open up the navigation (like your going to load a cd) it's even louder. It sounds like like a computer hard drive searching and writing data, and goes on for about 10 minutes (or longer, my patience doesn't last too long). Maybe the navigation system is uploading a database or something. No CD's vs. loading a cd do not make a difference, and the audio system is off. Weird. Only way to hear it is on a quiet night, in EV mode. Reminds me of when I used to reformat a hard drive on my old computer. I'll continue to listen for it when I pull up to a stoplight.
