View 17 RepliesIf I plug in my IPhone 4 using the USB cord plugged into the receptacle under the armrest (how you plug in to run the wonderful entune ) the pictured notification intermittently and quite often pops up. This stops my phone from charging and is annoying as it makes the dinging sound every time and I have to unplug / re plug it in and hope that it starts back up charging. Does the little lightning bolt that signifies that the phone is charging must be on for entune to work, or does it only have to be plugged in??
Now I do recall somewhere hearing that the USB is not the optimal way to charge a phone, and I'll admit when it does work it charges real slow. Thing is that's the only way to run Entune and there is only one plug on the cell phone? I could charge the phone via a cigarette lighter charger but then I can't use entune!
I am trying to replace my Center Console but i need to know which wires connect to center console for aux and the power socket, I've looked at diagrams but it seems to only show the power socket wire. What is the model number for the aux wire.
View 4 RepliesSince we got the prius in October, I have noticed that the lighter socket won't work properly. I have tried multiple chargers and some work, some don't. The ones that don't work in other cars just fine.
My theory is that the plug is too shallow for the socket and doesn't make good contact. The one that doesn't work looks like this:
I'm trying to replace the spark plugs of my 2006 Prius, but the deep well 5/8 socket attached to a 2 in extender just turns loose, as if it does not fit in the top of the spark plug. I tried also 3/4 and 13/16 but those don't even fit in the spark plug well. I tried in another spark plug to the same result. Problem to replace to spark plugs?
View 7 RepliesMy 2010 II has two power sockets, one under the radio, and another inside the center console. The center console one does not work, whereas the other one does. I checked both the fuses, and even swapped the two fuses. I also checked several other fuses just to be sure. No fuses are blown and nothing changes by swapping the 2 power port fuses.
View 8 RepliesI always keep the charger in the socket during charges and even when I'm not charging the phone.
Is this necessarily a bad thing, is it running down my battery?
I have 2006 Toyota Camry with the factory stock radio. I want to play mp3. I don't want to install any devices. what's the cheapest way to play mp3? I don't care about the sound quality.
View 4 RepliesMy Samsung Galaxy s4 works sporadically with my Bluetooth in my 2013 Elantra Limited. At times it says"device not available " when Bluetooth is turned on my phone. Sometimes it says "contacts are not downloaded & phone not connected ". Other times it works fine. When I told service, they said it's working fine. I get the car home & it's not working fine.
View 4 RepliesI no longer have any sound from any device or output. Stock NAV unit and I can't figure out why I wouldn't have any sound. This NAV unit sucks. It is so outdated that it doesn't even know the right time!
View 34 RepliesI wanna buy a used RX 350 2008, but I wanna know if it's possible to pair my iPhone with the audio system and listen and control the music through the steering wheel buttons?
View 7 RepliesI just got an 08 F-150. No key fob and no power locks but it does have what appears to be an anti-theft device that blinks on the top of the dash. I would like to have keyless entry. What steps should I take?
View 6 RepliesI've been told that my 12V battery was low.
I stumbled on this ATV/ motorcycle battery companion in the garage, can I use it to charge my prius?
I've never even used the port yet. If it can charge cellphones it will make my upcoming trip easier.
View 14 RepliesDuring the last few months I noticed that I could no longer charge my Verizon Cell phones (the original Droid and the most recent Samsung). Interestingly, the phones vibrate when connected and display the icon that it is charging. However, after 6 hour trips, the phones are not charged at all. I have tried plugging the chargers into both the places where these chargers can be plugged into. Neither work. Initially I thought it was my charger and bought another one. No luck. So I bought a third charger at another store. Still no charging.
Then my wife and also my daughter connected their phones to the various chargers in my 2006 Prius and in each case it stated that the phone was charging but they did not charge. Then I connected the same phones to the same charger and to the cigarette lighter in my Mercedes. The phone charged. Same with my wife's phone. Clearly, this has something to do with my 2006 Prius. My dealer determined that the voltage from charger is 9.5 volts when the car is not running and that the voltage is 14.5 volts when the car is running. how to determine what is causing this odd behavior?
I've had the car for about 24 hours. I love it so far. My one question seems to be that the battery doesn't seem to charge all the way up. There seems to be room for 2 more bars to be completely full. Is this normal? Something to be concerned about? How this works, but if it is supposed to be full to the top, I probably should go back to the dealer?
View 8 RepliesI'm wondering if there's a way to force the ICE to charge the HV battery, either while standing or driving. Currently, EV Mode kicks in while coasting down a hill, and I would rather use those moments to effectively charge the battery rather than trickle charge with what little gain that gravity gives me.
I know there was a way on other models to charge the battery while standing by depressing the accelerator in park (or in drive with the brake depressed), but neither method works with the 2015 Prius C. The battery continues to drain while the ICE runs in park, and it refuses to run in D or B while the brake and accelerator are pressed at the same time.
2006 Prius 104,000 miles - 9 months ago the AC started blowing "not cold" air. I put a can of suitable 134a WITH the correct oil in-and it blew cold for about 6 weeks then the weather became a bit cooler-and my son drives it - so I ignored it as it cooled less well.
Yesterday I tried to recharge it again-no go-the AC literally seemed to be blowing HOT air, the compressor wouldn't come on. Guessing so much 134a is gone that it won't come on-just like a regular AC. How can I trick the compressor to come on so it can accept the charge.
Yes I'm aware the orange covered cables are 200+ volts. I can't - couldn't find any compressor fuse?? I found a A/C fuse under the dash-but it was just 10-15 amps-12 V amps probably-so no way is it the compressor-110 watts-?? Must take 1000 or more watts to drive that compressor.
On the Gen III Prius, is the Battery indicator that is displayed on the HSI an actual 0-100% charge indication of the battery?
View 2 RepliesI've had my C a week and a half and it is doing great, but I wonder if the system is ok. It has never shown the battery at 100%. My Civic would charge all the way quite often.
View 19 RepliesTook my C to the local drive through car wash as it was pretty crusty looking from all of the rain we've had lately. I had my A/C on as its a nice and warm sunny Florida day. Pulled inside and put my C in Neutral to go through the wash and half way through my car started beeping like mad and flashing the "!" in a triangle symbol and on the small screen it said something to the effect of "Cannot charge traction battery when car is in 'N'." My HVAC system drained down the traction battery and since the car was in neutral the engine couldn't keep it above the minimum SOC level. Turned the air off and anxiously waited for the car wash to hurry up so I could put it in drive. After I put the car in drive the SOC read 1 blue bar and took FOREVER to charge back (or perhaps it just seemed that way because I was freaking out..)
