View 5 RepliesMy 2002 Excursion was rear ended. Body shop replaced the bumper. I noticed that the reverse aid was no longer working. I checked and noticed that non of the sensors were working. It was working before they replaced the bumper. If the speaker is out, would the four rear sensor still tick? I find it mighty strange, that it worked before and after the accident. Now that they've replaced the bumber, Every time it's placed in reverse, the light comes on.
View 4 RepliesIs it easy, I see that LE Camrys are pre-wired for fogs.
View 14 RepliesBrand new bumper came in without screws and nuts, it's ready for painting but i need the right hardware. (photos are simply for reference)
I want to keep the screws and nuts OEM meaning as close to as exact as possible without home depot or some lame arse hardware store, i'm talking about original VW if possible parts. Or at least the clips if anything at all. VW dealer hasn't supported much either, they just said go to Home Depot and buy some regular screws and u-nuts but I want everything as if it came straight off the dealership. I do not believe that all screws and nuts are created equal and where to get exact right hardware I need.
As far as I know the bottom needs 18 or so 5mm nuts and "u-nuts" that they screw into. And there's also the stock scoop, where to even start with screws on this one.
How to remove/install a reflector on the right rear side of the 'lower' rear bumper? I don't see any screws. So, can I pop it out with a screwdriver? Or, is it attached from the inside?
View 2 RepliesI install sports MFA cluster on my GTi 1.8t. Now I need to install out temp sensor.I know it's mounted somewhere on the driver side behind air duct.I just need the picture to see how exactly this sensor is mounted. My new (used) euro bora sports cluster. I temporally install the sensor.
View 12 RepliesI'm having the bumper cover replaced on my 350 (stupid mistake on a number of fronts it's starting to look like...) and the indy shop that I chose in my town to do the job (Lexus dealer is 100 miles away and this shop was recommended by the guys that take care of all the Lambos/Ferraris/Porsches etc) told me that they had to drill the holes in the bumper cover to retro fit the sensors. Is this correct?
View 2 RepliesWhat the sensor is for? In the course of removing the rough country bumper from my truck and installing the 2005-2007 factory front end I found this guy hanging out with wires cut. I haven't attempted to wire it back up because I want to know what it is first. It would appear that the sensor is suppose to be screwed in to something.
View 5 RepliesInstalling a back up camera and need to locate reverse lights on driver's side at rear bumper. What color wire is for the reverse lights on a 2003 F-350 (truck in my sig)?
View 4 RepliesWhat would cause the reverse sensing system to illuminate the "OFF" light on its own when I shift into reverse? I cannot turn it back on unless I shift out of reverse. This problem has come and gone on its own several times and there is no rhyme or reason as to when or why.
View 11 Replies(6 speed)... I have faulty reverse lights, my speed sensor is working so I am sure it isn't the fuse, I am guessing this means the switch/sensor is broken. Where it is located, and what the correct part number is?
View 3 RepliesAny way to disable the reverse sensors by maybe adding a switch to turn off power so it does not constantly go off while plowing and the sensors are snow covered? i thought maybe by just unplugging the switch would do it, but that did not work. truck is an 02 diesel with auto trans.
View 6 RepliesI started my car the other day and found that it only drives the first gear and I can also put it in reverse. VCDS gave me a 00281 code saying no signal from Vehicle Speed Sensor G68. I replaced the sensor, but it still doesn't go into gear beyond 1st.
VCDS gives me the following codes after replacing G68.
2 Faults Found:
00652 - Gear Monitoring
27-10 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent
00281 - Vehicle Speed Sensor (G68)
03-00 - No Signal
I came across TSB 01-99-02 which says something about the codes being incorrect. It seemed a little vague about whether it is actually G38 or G22. I don't want to buy more sensors only to have it be something else. The speedometer and tach work fine so G22 doesn't seem likely to me.
The VCDS site says it could be several things including bad G68 or G38 sensor, low fluid & bad valve body. Was it the G38 sensor?
Ok I ended up buying a 2011 F250 XLT. it has the reverse aid sensors. it worked great till i washed it after plowing. what should I look for or diagnose? also mt my dash says my tires need air. I filled them and reset but it comes back.

View 1 RepliesI've had my 2010 Gen III for about five months. I play in a folk band and we do a lot of gigs in DC and Northern Virginia. We have to haul a lot of stuff, and my Prius holds it all.
But in just a few months my rear bumper has gotten all scratched up moving stuff in and out of the car. I looked around for something I could cover it with to protect it from scratches. The dealership said they could put a non-skid decal on the flat part, but I wanted something that covered a little more.
When I was spray painting my bumper lower lip. Wiggled it loose so I could tape better but it came loose. This is what it looks like after gluing back together. The issue is with the little rubber trim not wanting to stick and looking ugly. Had a few ideas.
1. Replace with factory parts and repaint.
2. Wide pin striping along the line, blue or black.
3. Reflective tape square.
4. Euro fog lights
5. Long LED strip, either red or white
6. New blinker/reflector
7. Putty/bondo the bumper to look like one piece then paint.
I remember seeing a post a while back stating that the reverse sensor would make a clicking noise (when you're ear is up against the sensor) when working properly, I only had one working but I figured I'd replace them all since the 4th one was sure to go out . Fast forward to using two different sets of sensors, and not a single has worked or made that clicking noise like I would assume it should be. Can an aftermarket head unit cause these sensors to not work properly or have I just gotten two bum sets?
View 3 RepliesI want to install a large screen just in front of front bumper with enough height to protect windshield from rocks thrown up on the gravel sections of the road. I can weld a frame (or use a window screen frame), but how to affix it to the front of the car? Are there solid attach points I can use?
View 4 RepliesI know this may sound weird, but lately every time I am standing behind my car, I feel like the back bumper is really close to the ground and the whole back just seems really low to the floor. I am tall but not THAT tall at 5'7" and I can easily see the top of the car when I'm standing back there...opening the trunk etc.
View 13 RepliesHave an '04 Prius and banged up the front bumper cover. Wanted to know if a Toyota Matrix front bumper cover from the same year would fit on it (without extensive mods, I know anything could fit, but would it bolt right up?).
