View 3 RepliesExperiencing water in the top of there tail lights? The dealer says this is normal. It's been like this for a week now.
View 24 RepliesI just purchased my camry 3 weeks ago and I noticed that water (from rain and car wash) is going into my tail light and head lights. Not a lot of water, just a little bit. Went to the dealership today and they said it's normal for all toyotas and it'll dry out by itself. Is this true?
View 14 RepliesIs this a issue? I know it's not normal but is it worth a trip to dealer?
View 9 RepliesMy 2001 Outback's tail lights leak water (in) whenever it rains or the car is washed. I've already replaced both bulb sockets due to corrosion, even though I take the bulbs out and let the fixture dry out before plugging them back in. (I overlook the fact that some of my tail lights don't work in the meantime.) Two questions: 1. is there anything that can be done about this to prevent the leak? and 2. is is true that new tail lights, and even new Subarus, have the same problem?
View 14 RepliesI have water in my Jetta's tail lights and its really annoying. I just had them both out on the weekend and checked out the foam gaskets and they were both fine but i replaced them with an older pair I had that looked in even better shape but basically the same condition...
Rained pretty hard last night and now there is like more water in them then before... I made sure I tightened them down good because they were not that tight when I originally took them off.
There is water condensation in my spare tire well and making my carpet wet and starting to fog up my rear windows..
OK I think my 2004 Prius is haunted.
Last week both brake lights (just the upper, red part) stopped working.
A day later the right/passenger side light came back on.
Then the next day, the left/driver side light resumed working too.
Today both went out again.
Then the right side came back on.
I don't mean solid black tail lights. I just want to paint the chrome out of it like we do with the headlights. I still want them to do what their supposed to do. I just did my headlights with the oven bake, tear apart, mask, paint, oven bake method. I'd like to make them match.

View 5 RepliesI have a '13 Prius III, and had to replace both tail light assemblies for moisture. They both developed the moisture several hours after washing it. It was covered under warranty of course, but seems odd that both would develop the moisture at the same time. The assemblies would be quite expensive to replace out of warranty.
View 4 RepliesBoth tail lights are out. Replaced bulbs, no dice. Checked the fuse, looked ok, replaced it anyway. Noticed that the license plate lights are working.
View 2 RepliesI have been trying to remove the tail lights to install LEDs. Are there more bolts than just the two bolds on the outside?
View 4 RepliesLast nite a driver told me that both my rear tail lights and and running lights were out - but brake lights and license plate light worked ok. I checked the bulbs are they are fine. Where I can find a wiring schematic for the 07?
View 5 RepliesIve got a '14 Pip, no new mods all my mods are atlas 6 months old. When I turn on my headlights at night and make sure the dimmer switch, by the fuel tank button, inside the cabin, is dimmed, the headlights work, the front parking lights work, the brake lights work ( WHEN I STEP ON THE PEDAL), but they don't turn on when I just have the parking lights on with out braking. So, to clarify, the parking lights (the two strip that are used as brake lights (led)) they don't turn on. what could it be? Some fuse? I made sure to cycle the column stalk switch a few times, and the dimmer switch a few times. Could removing and reattaching battery fix it? Should I take it to the dealer (~85k miles).
View 17 RepliesSomeone told my wife yesterday that her parking lights/tail lights weren't working in her 2004 Prius. When you turn the switch on the stalk one click, only the license plate light comes on. No parking/tail lights come on in the back, and the little lights above the headlights don't come on. Turn the switch another click, and the headlights come on. The brake lights work when you hit the brakes. I checked the fuses: the owner's manual doesn't really match what is in the car, so I checked a lot, and the ones I checked were all fine.
I used up all my diagnosing time deciphering the owner's manual and figuring out the fuses, so I didn't check the bulbs themselves yet (and now it's late, dark, and cold) but it seems really unlikely all 4 of these lights are out at once. Someone else in the forum had a problem where their parking lights only came on when their high beams were on, so I tried that, but that didn't make mine work. There's no history of mysterious electrical problems or collisions. I am able to do some DIY maintenance, and replaced the MFD twice, but have a healthy respect for electricity and don't have any tools beyond a voltage meter.
My driver side headlight and tail lights are not working. The brake lights and turn signals still work. I checked all of the fuses and light bulbs nothing is blown. It did rain yesterday and it looks like some moisture got into the driver side headlight, not like a pool of water just some condensation on the lens.
View 7 RepliesThis issue came on suddenly. I unplugged the license plate lights- fuse still blew. I don't know where the wire harness is for this group of wires going to these lights to check for frayed or melted wires. I don't see any damage any where. I am severely limited for funds for a mechanic so I need to try and figure this out first myself. Looking for pictures of how I can traces the wires through the car?
View 1 RepliesI noticed one of my tail lights has water inside, so there is some leak. I first noticed it after a touchless car wash.
How do I remove the tail light assembly so I can inspect it and dry out the water?
What's the best way to seal the hole (if there is one) causing the leak?
So I just noticed the other day that my passenger tail light has water inside it. How that even happened.
View 2 RepliesI found out last night that all 3 of my brake lights are out. However, my tail lights work, and my turn-signals work. So obviously its not a big wiring deal. I was looking for the brake switch but i don't know where its at because i looked underneath. What fuse is the brake lights cause my manual doesn't have it listed. I drive a 04 Elantra GLS.
View 6 RepliesIs their anyway to get the tail lights to come on with the Daytime driving lights ....
