I've been having an issue with my smart key system since I did sound deadening on my car last weekend and had disconnected the auxiliary battery a few times during the process. I cannot get the driver door to unlock by grabbing the handle.
View 6 RepliesI have a Prius 2007 with smart key, the problem is the driver's door does not unlock while touching the handle sensor pad. I works perfectly with the other door and with the hatch one. The interior light turns on when I get close to the driver's door which means that it's not the proximity sensor.
It stopped working like a year ago, the weird thing that last winter and during the snow time exactly it worked like there is no problem at all! After that when the weather got better it stopped working again! Is it something related to temperature/humidity? or it was just like a one off happened by chance at that time?
Is there a way to diagnose the touch pad sensor and fixing it?
My driver side door is not locking with the smart key or by hitting the button on the handle I can't seem to figure it out...
View 5 RepliesI have read somewhere on here that you can reprogram your car so that when you touch the driver door handle to unlock, it unlocks all the doors. Can't find the thread now & can't find it in the manual. Looking for instructions how to do this or page number of the manual?
View 2 RepliesI recently got a used 2007 prius as my first car; Unfortunately today the drivers side lock has stopped working. when trying to use the smart unlock, the Prius would beep many times, and the drivers door would not unlock (or lock for that matter). After getting into the car (with the mini key) I noticed that the inner lock button does not lock or unlock that door either.
All other doors function normally. The lock can be manually operated, so it's probably not mechanical.
Trunk release switch on drivers door does not open trunk. Remote and key will open trunk. Sounds like a motor is trying to close the trunk when it is being closed, but does not pull it shut ?
1. I did pull on the switch
2. Gas door switch works fine
3. It is a standard trunk (not powered)
So, I am sitting at the dealership waiting for my car to get worked on. The door lock on my driver side isn't working.
View 10 RepliesI tried to vent my windows after I shut off the car yesterday, by using the key on the driver's door. The windows would not roll down. I know to do this remotely, it would require the VAG, but I thought this feature was enabled from the factory.
View 17 RepliesI have a 2007 Passat. The driver's side door handle has failed. With the locks in "unlocked" when i pull the handle it comes out but with no effort and it does not trip the dork lock mechanism and the door does not open. I can however open the door via the inside handle.
View 4 RepliesMy driver's side door lock module isn't working, are all MK4s the same or is it particular to R32? Would MK4 jetta module work on golf? I've found a bunch of different part numbers so I'm confused what I should be looking for...
Also is this harming the car after starting? I know it doesn't prime the fuel pump, but will it adversely effect anything if I don't fix it?
Driver's Side does not open when touching handles. Passenger and hatch open and lock with no issue. Checked vehicle custom and correct setting is selected. It just stopped working.
View 1 RepliesSo yesterday I come out of a store and hit the button on my remote and pull my handle and nothing.. I hit the button a few more times i and i hear it clicking but its not unlocking..
So I climb in and unlock it from the inside and start locking and unlocking it and finally it starts working again.. I get home car sits for a few hours and i head out to walmart door opens fine when I leave walmart it is fine.. this mourning taking my son to the sitters it was fine and leaving there to go to work it was fine..
At lunch at work it wouldn't open again no matter what i tried i couldn't get it to work.. i call the dealer and have an appointment in the AM for them to check it out..
On a side not one of my drivers side front speaker in the same door is cutting in and out and hisses every now and then..
At first we would use the remote and sometimes the lock would not lock the drivers side door but the rest of the car would. Normally if I tried a second time it would catch and lock.
Now I need to flip the lock switch myself when getting out of the car. I can unlock the car with the remote but there has been the odd time that it will not unlock via the remote and I've had to go around to the passenger side and reach over to unlock the drivers side door.
If I hold the lock and try to unlock or lock the car it is very weak compared to doing the same with all the others doors.
From looking around if sounds like it could be the actuator?
If this is the case how easy is this to replace on my own? I've been trying to see if there's a video anywhere but no luck finding one.
I have a 2007 Santa Fe. The drivers door handle has stopped working. I can open the door with the inside handle. The locking mechanism is fine. I took the interior panel off and found there is a middle metal panel, which stopped me from getting to the exterior door handle mechanism to see what is wrong. I can't find any information on how to correctly remove the middle panel. I remove the bolts but am not sure how to deal with the two cables from the inside handle to the lock and if there is anything else needed to release the middle panel.

View 4 RepliesThe driver side door lock switch on our 1998 Mercury Mountaineer was no longer working. I replaced the switch with a remanufactured unit and it still doesn't work. The rest of the switches and keyless entry work as intended. Is there another likely reason besides a bad switch that would cause this? Which pins on the back of the switch should have power on them? Also, how do you test the switch?
View 8 RepliesI recently purchased a 2006 GS 300 AWD from a friend with about 90k miles. After getting accustomed to this vehicle, I began to notice that the driver's side door handle does not automatically unlock the door as I know it should.
I've troubleshooted and changed the settings for each door handle through the key fob to unlock every door instead of just the drivers door. Every other door handle sensor works, besides the drivers door. I can lock and unlock doors with every other door handle but can not lock or unlock from the drivers side door sensor or the button on the door handle.
I've changed my key fob battery as I read that that might have something to do with it, but alas, no luck and I doubt that was the problem since the other doors have worked fine since I've gotten the car.
Do the sensors on these door handles go bad? Is there a way to replace them and are parts/labor expensive?
I'm at a complete loss, My drivers side back door has stopped working, Alarm, window and lock, I've checked my fuses, and it seems i only have 3 doors in the fuse box, what are the numbers to the door fuses in the box.
