I have 2007 PRIUS with 187,OOO miles, I just replaced one bad cell today and the master warning,vsc,charging system warning light went off then come back on but it's charging .
All bars are green. Blue light is ON.
My 2006 prius has the Master warning light(red) and the braking system light (Yellow) on while I am driving, and I went to the dealer.
The technician told me that he could not verify any warning lights ON at that moment, and he performed health and diagnostic checks on it. He inspected connection at auxiliary battery and junction box 1. All checked OK at this time. No repairs recommended at this time.
However, the master warning light came on when I pick up the vehicle. The dealer told me that they will inspect it again tomorrow. And they found that there a P0A08 error code. They suggested me to replace the hybrid converter/inverter.. My car can still drive while the lights ON.
My car started giving me trouble I ran the scan tool and it told me that cell 6 was bad on my battery. I replaced the cell and put the battery back in now the check engine light is on and the problem triangle is on and the car wont start and only shifts into neutral but when I check for codes i get nothing .
View 6 Replieslast week I got a whole array of warning lights, including the triangle of death. Took it in to my local mechanic who diagnosed it and told me it was the HV Battery. So, as a temporary fix, we did some DIY and just replaced the bad cell. Everything went well, just some minor troubles toward the end with the engine not turning on, which we fixed by switching the orange switch on the battery and disconnecting and then reconnecting the 12V battery. It was driving great, until u got to work this morning and all the lights came on again. What am I missing?

View 14 RepliesA few days ago my charging system warning light came on in the middle of my trip home from work.
I popped the battery out and took it to Advanced (in my other car) and they tested the battery, it was fully charged and was in good condition. So I popped it back in my car and when I started the car I didn't get the warning light on my way back to Advanced.
They tested my battery again, along with my starter and charging system. Everything looked good, except one of the terminals on the battery was a little loose so we tightened it. Next time I started my car the light was back on.
Also, I looked at the belt and it didn't appear to be cracked, but I'm not completely sure how to verify if it's in good shape.
1997 3.2 2WD 299,000 miles original alternator
3 times in the last month when I start up first thing in the morning dash warning lights are lit up and the electrical system is not charging. AC doesn't work and windows operate very slowly. A simple rev of the engine has resolved the problem. However, the belt is very tight (and I mean very) and there is no indication of it slipping.
This morning, a rev didn't solve the problem. I only work a few miles from home and my mechanic is also very close so I just figured to head that direction. About 1/4 mile later charging kicked in and everything worked just fine.

I have a 2007 Honda Civic 2 dr. A couple years ago the manufacturer cell phone charger was blown in a few days of use with the cigarette lighter. The manufacturer replacement was next blown, and then a cheap off-brand was blown. Last fall, turning on the rear defroster began causing static interference on the FM stations. Several months later, I noticed that use of the cigarette lighter as a cell phone charger also caused radio static.
Next week, the rear windshield will be removed and replaced during a body repair. Should I ask for a replacement windshield, or just for attention to the connection with the electric? What else can be done about either of these causes of FM static?
I installed some 5K HID's with 35W ballasts and a relay on my 15 toyota camry SE. When I start the system, it says check charging system and once the engine starts it goes away. I initially had 50W ballasts installed but I changed it to 35W as the 50W caused the HIDs to be too bright for my taste.
View 4 RepliesMy 2008 2wd 4.0l XLT is having a strange power steering issue. When I start the truck and back out of my driveway it feels like I have no power steering. Within about ten seconds of putting the truck in reverse the "check charging system" warning comes on the dash. As long as it is on I have no power steering. That warning stays on for about 15-20 seconds and then goes away. As soon as it goes away power steering is restored.
I have checked my battery and it is good, it is also pretty new. The power steering fluid level is good. Based on another thread that seemed to have a similar issue I replaced the serpentine belt, the idler pulley and the belt tensioner. No changes at all to the issue. My next step is to replace the power steering pump....
I have a 2003 mercury mountaineer 4.6L AWD. The other day it died at the grocery store and now won't start. All it has is the check charging system warning light on. Changed Alternator, battery and starter already and still nothing. It does start sometimes but i need to give it gas to keep it running.
View 7 RepliesIn my one-owner purchased-new 2005 Prius w/ 74K miles and w/ no maintenance/accident history other than doing all scheduled maintenances at Toyota Dealers along w/ recalls applicable at each time (other than we had Toyota replace the 12V battery last year just because I knew it would die at some point anyway and I don't like pushing my luck; I'm not 100% certain if there's been a recall on any water pump for this car and if so, don't believe the dealer has mentioned it), I have the following indicators which appeared all at once while I was driving along at around 45 MPH in no unusual circumstances (80F, dry afternoon, about 30 minutes into a trip of mixed speeds, no loads in the vehicle, no effect on the car while driving):
From Left to Right on the display:
1) Red Triangle - Master Warning Light
2) Orange (Symbol)CHECK - Malfunction Indicator Lamp
3) Orange (!) - Brake Warning Light (but it didn't highlight the word 'Brake' in red)
4) Orange VSC - Vehicle Stability Control Warning Light

We immediately aimed for the house (about 5 miles away); the car drove perfectly fine, with the engine stopping and starting at lights as needed, with speeds going from the 55MPH we were traveling at the time of the alarms down to 0 and back up thru 35/45 MPH and such per normal off-interstate driving. The battery currently shows all the blue bars, and the engine and hybrid systems showed charge/discharge as usual as we drove. There was no discernible change in the driving reaction of the car to brake, steering, accelerator, etc.
I was driving earlier today and it flashed twice (about a second and a half each), and then didn't see it again for a few hours. I was going about 40 MPH at the time.
I was driving somewhere else today and when I got to the 70MPH mark (really, between 60-70), it objectively increased in frequency. I searched google and these forums, and the closest thread I can find that shares my ailments was this one:
So the other day my girlfriend got in her car and it had the master warning light on. we took it to the dealer and now they are saying it is something with the transmission and it would be cheaper to just install a new one. Another thing is how could it be the transmission if i drove it over to the dealer and head no problem with the gears changing, but he also said something about a voltage leak.

It does not come back on while driving and there is no warning sound with it. This just start happening. It never came on with other lights when first starting it up. I have a 2009 Prius.

I'm noticing something odd and I figured I'd ask and see if this is normal or something else. Sometimes on startup I see the red triangle then it goes away and sometimes it doesn't show up at all. I've had a few occasions where the car doesn't start. I usually shut the lights off and then it's OK.
Purchased the car several months ago and have done all maintenance and the car is overall flawless but I believe it to contain the original 12V battery.

I noticed that when I turn the car OFF , the master warning sign (yellow triangle with an exclamation mark) and a message in Japanese (which I cannot read) appear for a few seconds. I don't see the warning when switching the car ON, or while driving. I experienced this frequently when switching the power OFF. Why this happens?
View 3 RepliesTitle says it all. Occasionally when I try to start my 2007 Prius (70k miles), the master warning light along with the brake, ABS, and VSC warning lights all come on. I'll turn my car off and then turn it back on and it will start right away.
One thing that I notice is that it seems like the headlights and/or the MFD is dimmer than usual when this happens. I'll turn off the headlights, turn on the car, wait for it to start, and then turn on the headlights and everything will work correctly.
2001 Prius, 182,000 miles... Master Warning Light and brake light came on.....
I took it to the local dealer and they did a diagnostic, and they pulled the codes P0300, P3125, P0301, P0302, P0420, P3006, P3016, P3017. They said I would need to replace the the hybrid battery, the inverter, the catalytic converter, and the spark plugs.
