Is it possible to remove the front passenger seat? Is it just a few bolts? I have to transport my bicycle and it has an extremely long wheelbase (its a recumbent). I basically need the full length of the interior compartment to accommodate it.
View 12 RepliesThe passenger airbag light only works 50% of the time there is a passenger in front seat. I've moved the seat forward and backward .. But ultimately the passenger must unbuckle, step out if the car , and sit back down in order for it to work. I took it to the dealer with its silver warranty package and the dealer can't find a code so won't fix it. "If it keeps doing it, come back." I'm not going to drive 20 miles out of the way, on one if the 50% chance days that it doesn't work.

View 4 RepliesIn my mom's prius V, on the front passenger seat, under where you put your legs, the plastic panel is like coming off, and when i am sitting in it, i can feel the panel hitting my feet. I don't know exactly how to put the panel back together. Also, Whenever I drive her Prius around I am always tempted to put it into reverse when I am driving around normally. I know I won't do it, but I just feel tempted too. What would happen if somebody actually put it into reverse while I am driving at high speeds? would it just not allow the car to switch gears or whatever? I was going like 3mph and switched into reverse once, car just slowed to a stop.
View 5 RepliesMy 2006 Prius front passenger seat (leather) squeaks constantly. Sounds like styrofoam rubbing against styrofoam. Been to Toyota dealer three times and they have not been able to solve the problem. Squeak only gets worse. Am I the only one driving a GenII Prius with this problem?
View 2 RepliesI continue to get that message whenever about anything is on the passenger seat. Today there was only a wrapper and an empty cardboard box from an oil filter. Together I doubt they weighed more than a few ounces. I normally just clear the message a few times to get it to go away...but today it triggered a seat belt alarm. Is there a way to change the amount of weight that it takes to trigger this message...or is it due to something else?

View 3 RepliesI just got a Touareg with no manual. I have it and the Bentley CD ordered. In the meantime I need to charge the battery and cant figure out how to remove panel in front of seat. It was dead for a few months in the cold weather and I want to double check to be sure it didn't freeze and bust the sides.
Also I'm not sure this vehicle had the PDI done yet. What to look for in regards to a battery disconnect switch in the seat area. Supposedly the dealer removes these as part of the pre delivery inspection.
One last thing, with a jumpbox attached can I turn the key to a "on" position without danger of engine cranking to get it out of park? I guess what I am asking is when you insert the key and turn it to the right, is there a position past 12:00 that cranks engine, and then springs back to 12:00 when you let go of the key?
I need to roll it around my shop, but don't want it to accidentally activate the starter.
I am getting ready to install DVD headrest players in my RX400h. I am stumped on how to remove the read shield of the seat if that makes sence? I believe the are held in by clamps from middle to top but not sure what needs done at the bottome. And I can also feel two straps at the bottom.
How to remove the back so I can run the wires down the seat from the headrests? Pictures? Diagrams?
I went on a trip this past weekend and I guess one of the corners of a box which I put on the passenger's seat had a sticky tab...and it left a smudge on my seat. I can't get it out.
When I try to rub it out, it just makes my finger feel sticky, and I get a friction burn.
I've tried a damp rough microfiber cloth (the kind you use on laptop screens) and I've even tried an upholstry cleaner, which seems to work just a little, but I feel like whatever it is just spreads out.
How do I remove these kinds of weird smudges? (I'm not really looking for a seat cover. I just want the smudge out, or as much "out" as possible without ruining the cloth.)
I was able to unlatch the two white hooks attached to the back of the rear seat and lift the rear seat up to about 45 degrees. What about the front?
View 1 RepliesI just got my clazzio seat cover yesterday, spent the whole day installing it. I'm up to the last seat (rear passenger side) where i need to remove the seat belt.
I'm having problem removing the seat belt. Tried with several different tools, including variable speed tool, and even tried turning it to the right in case it has different direction to unbolt, but it just wouldn't turn at all.
I called the dealership, but no luck. So i'm now stucked with all but 1 seat being covered. I went to some shops today, most wouldn't touch it because it's liability issue.
New MK7 GTI here in Canada with leather. 5-door.
Roughly 6,000km so far and started noticing a rattle coming from the front passenger seat. Initially I thought it was the fuel line problem that some have been having so I contacted my dealer and they stated my particular car wasn't flagged for that recall at all.
The weird part is that the rattle goes away if I even lightly place my hand on the seat, an comes back as soon as I take my hand off. I got under the seat to see if it was a wire connection hitting the metal of the seat and everything appears to be in order.
I need to get my front driver seat and passenger seat replaced because they look so beaten down. The cushion is almost gone and looks very wrinkly.
I really need to come up with the excuse because i doubt they will let me change it if i tell them that its getting wrinkly and the cushion is gone.
Loving my new to me GX470. However shocked to realize that front passenger seat does not adjust up or down. Wife has missed this feature that all of our previous cars have had.
I have read other threads on the subject and was wondering if someone could not modify a drivers side seat mechanism to work on the drivers side. I am aware of the GPS disk etc.

Noticed today that the carpet UNDER the front passenger seat is soaked. The front and rear passenger floorboard carpet is dry. Just the carpet DIRECTLY under the seat.
Nothing spilled, seat dry.
Front passenger seat rattles when the road is rough. Didn't notice it last week but it is noisy today. When I put my hand between the seat and center console, the sound stops. Is this common for a new Avalon? Is it an easy fix?
View 8 RepliesThe driver and front pax headrest won't stay up on my '11 GX. They have the RSES installed. I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but it seems odd that both headrests would experience the same problem. When I raise them, they just fall right down to the lowest position with a thunk.
If I wiggle the passenger one, sometimes it will stay up. It looks like there are a couple of plastic bushings that aren't seated properly, but when I push them down, they just ride up again when I raise the headrest.
I'll take it to the dealer next week, as this should be covered under warranty, but I'd like to know if this is a known issue and if there is anything I can do to prevent it from happening again.
