Prius C :: How To Change From Kph To Mph On Speedometer
Mar 15, 2012
I read through the manual but can't figure out how to change to mph on the speedometer. I saw the full size Prius has a button but I see no button on my Prius-c.

View 17 RepliesNothing that was suggested in the forum so far works with my car. I agree with the others that it's not in the manual. Do I need to return to the dealer to get it changed?
View 19 RepliesOk. Seriously they have to change the dash. No way is my wife going to let me drive a car where she can't see the speedometer.

View 2 RepliesI have an ' 87 Dodge Caravan cargo van that came originally with 195-70-14 size tires. I recently got for free, a like new set of 205-75-14 tires that I put on to replace the worn old set. My question is how will this throw off my speedometer, say at 35 mph or at 55-65 mph on the highway?
View 6 RepliesI have a 2002 F450 2WD AT with the common Dana 80 4.88:1 posi rear diff. If I change the ring & pinion to 4:10 do I need to change the carrier or does my current carrier fit 4:10 & lower [4.63,4.88, 5.13 etc]? Will I need to adjust my speedo readings & if so how is this accomplished? Electronically via the diagnostic port?
View 5 Replieswhen driving at night, the light from the speedometer reflects up onto the windshield like you see in the picture above.
View 5 RepliesSome how my speedometer switched over to kilometers from miles per hour. Why and how the heck do I change it back.
View 3 RepliesI took the Prius on a ski trip and halfway to our destination the speedometer display went blank and has not yet come back to life. It was fairly cold outside (-5 F) and I have seen other people blame the cold weather for a Generation II Prius.
View 19 RepliesThis morning, went out to my car, started fine, but the speedometer display and all other icons on the display are off. Except for the turn flasher indicators. 2006 model, 271,000 miles. Is this a recall item? I think I remember something about this being recalled. I might add it got really cold last night, about 6 degrees, and my car was parked outside.
View 4 RepliesOver the weekend I was driving on the highway....all of a sudden the gas and mileage indicators along with speedometer just disappeared. I am curious what the solution is.
View 19 RepliesI have a 2007 prius and the speedometer display is intermittent. I would like to know if there is an online manual for replacement or how to even get this one out? I'm going crazy!
View 2 RepliesThe speedometer on my 2013 Persona shows high by 2 mph. Is this caused by the 17 inch wheels? I wonder if the dealer can reprogram for this?
View 4 RepliesEven to 100 indicated. Scangauge says 99.
I found the error in my vehicle to be about 1.1 MPH fast with the 16" 195'S's. 38 psi cold, 92 degree day.
Scangauge and speedometer were as closely in sync as I've seen them.
I have a 2008 prius with 41K on the clock.
View 14 RepliesOur city has installed a number of auto-radar "you are traveling ___ mph" stations in the last couple years. While not the most accurate of devices, so far they seem to be reading me slower than my C speedometer says. Any other C drivers noticed this? I have the standard 15" steel wheels on my Two.
View 12 RepliesI have played around with settings and wanted to see if I can have range/distance to empty showing in this screen. Doesn't seem possible. I tried looking through the online manual.
View 2 RepliesI have an intermittent problem. Sometimes when I start my 2008 Prius, the speedometer panel will not light up. Also, when that happens the backup camera will not work. I tried starting the cal 4 or 5 times with the same result. When I got to my destination I stopped the car and 4 hours later started with no problem. It has done this 2 or 3 times now. Is my speedometer (instrument) panel about to fail?
View 2 RepliesStarted about a month ago, no speedometer or fuel gauge (the display up on the dash). So, somewhere I found out about unplugging the 12v battery and that worked...for a while! After a few times doing that, I read somewhere that it is a sign that the 12v battery is going. So, I took it in to the local auto parts store, they tested it and said it was good.
I bought one anyhow since it was about 3-1/2 years old. That worked for about 2 weeks, but now it's back! I've unplugged the battery and again it has ( temporarily ) fixed this issue. The other thing that happens is that it is difficult to turn off and requires you to hold the power button for an extended period of time. I guess part of my problem is I am not sure what to call that display and my searches are coming up with all sorts of things. I have about 160,000 and have had no problems.
Recently the speedometer and center stack light cluster went dark. The navigation screen is working but I have no lighted speed/fuel gauge/mileage reading and the lights on the radio control are off as well.
View 2 RepliesJust last night, I stopped to pick up my daughter and had to wait for 10 minutes or so, so left the parking lights on and put it into park. When we began to leave later, I noticed that there was no HSI or Speedometer showing when I turned the lights on (to include parking lights). I turned it off and on again, hoping that would take care of it. It did not. I put it through a charge cycle, still no change.
