Got my car back from dealer for 5000 miles service. On the way home I heard there was some weird noise under the hood. It sounds like some very thick heavy motor oil dripping on the pan intermittently.

View 4 RepliesYesterday had 5000 miles/6 months service performed on 2015 3500 miles AWD RX-350. Right after leaving the dealer felt that steering wheel is too light. After some driving it returned to normal, but with very light shimmer during driving (40-50 ml/h) and stops . Today was backing up from garage and shaking was much more noticeable when reversed and parked, also it was some kind of (I think) engine roar. After that drove almost 30 miles with some steering wheel light shimmering, but no other issues.
Is it normal car behavior, and I'm just paranoid ? Or, if there is a potential problem, what could trigger it, and how it could be resolved?
My Prius is now 4 months old and has just just over 5000 miles on it. The Oil Maintenance message is showing in the display. I was told that oil change intervals were 10,000miles.

View 1 RepliesMy 09 matrix is using about 3 quarts of oil every 5000 miles. I bought the car new and it has 114,000 miles on it. I don't notice any smoke or leaks anywhere.
View 14 RepliesI am following the 7,500 maintenance intervals for oil and filter changes. At about 3,000 miles the color of the oil was golden brown but definitely had started to turn brown but still had a golden tint. Is light brown oil normal for 5,000 miles? The oil level is OK and still near the Full mark.
View 20 RepliesI had my car drop for a while now on megan ez coilover. Before I bought my new set of wheels, I drove the car with the OEM wheels and they never had any cupping issues. Then after I bought my AME Shallen with 20mm hub centric H&R spacers on Nankang NS, and then they started cupping on the front inside tires after 5000 miles. I had the alignment done and only had the toe adjusted.(don't have camber kit) At first i thought it was the spacers causing the issue, but then I bought Orden's with new Nankang NS and had the toe adjusted to spec's again. Camber is at -3 BTW. Recently i started hearing the same road noise so I inspected the tires and found it was cupping in the front again! I also checked the front end of any damage or worn out bushing and couldn't find any signs of damage. I always keep my tires at 40psi, torque them down evenly, and I'm using hub centric rings. My questions is do you think is the Nankang tires or do I have a suspension problem?

View 4 RepliesA quick question, currently an observation.. but a concern. we purchased our 2012v used at 55k miles.. She's running great, MPG's are above rated expectations. (ave 47.2 so far) We are currently @ ~59400 miles.. So, all seems OK w/the exception of this strange noise.. I'm familiar with the typical prox pulse sound at low EV speeds.. and this noise is not that one.
View 11 RepliesToday was the second time I have walked into the garage and heard my Prius making a weird noise. It's not the noise that comes from the front when you open the door or press the brakes....It's coming from the rear of the car. It stops when I press the start button. I made a video of the noise (nothing to see, as it was dark in the garage, but you can hear the noise.
My concern is that it's something running that will wear down my battery if I happen to not notice it is doing it sometime in the future.
The MFD did the 500 mile service countdown and now just says service now, to get this cleared do I need someone with a Vag-Com to clear it? is there some trick or will it go away automatically.
View 4 RepliesThe service light for the oil change came on this weekend. The car only has 2996 miles on it. The manual calls for the oil change at 5000 miles. My Touareg doesn't do this. Is this tied in to how you drive or is something wrong?

View 1 RepliesI have a 2003 F-250 Super Duty 6.0 4WD that has about 202,000 miles on it. I bought the truck with 83,000 miles on it and have never serviced the Torqueshift 5R110W Hi-Torque transmission. No new filters, no new fluid. In the interest of gettting the most life out of the truck I am trying to be a bit more proactive with maintenance. Does a flush/power purge will precipitate transmission problems? I am even concerned that dropping the pan and changing the filters and topping off fluid may cause problems. There are no problems presently and the dealership can't tell me that the've ever performed a transmission service for the previous owner via OASIS. Can I get away with a filter change and fluid top-off at a decent interval without incurring a condition that will require the transmission to be pulled and rebuilt?

When hitting boost in 3rd-6th gear i hear a fluttering sound between 3500rpm and 5000rpm after 5000rpm the sound either dissipates or is drowned out by the motor.
I've done a lot of research around this sound and i havent been able to find a certain answer, it could be compression surge (i wouldn't see why), a leaky DV ( also cant see why because the 2011 has the new revision D piston actuated DV), A fluttering wastegate.
Sage 1 apr chip and stage 1 apr intake...
When I purchased my 2010 mk6 about 3 weeks ago there was a noise in the dash board when ever the RPM's pasted 5,000 It sounds like a rattling noise from the intake or something. So i put a stage 2 APR intake, Magnaflow cat back exhaust and a AWE tune. After all that work the rattling noise is still there and is driving me crazy. I love the car but there's gotta be a way to get rid off the noise ...
View 9 RepliesHow to get rid of this message? I was told by dealer it means it's time to rotate the tires. You can turn it off by reading the manual. I looked through the manual and maybe I am missing something. I can find the menu on the display button on the steering wheel, but nothing relating to this and it's hard to move around and looks like you could accidentally turn something on or off in there.
