I'm looking for a button that would fit into the empty smart key button area for my Prius c II. I'd love for it to say the word "eject". Really, anything that would be that size would be nice. It seems like a great spot to add a bit of flair!
View 4 RepliesI was adding some CD music to my jukebox on the stock 2010 Ford NAV radio today. I hit the eject button, but the disc did not come out. I tried hitting eject a few times with no luck. Only once when I hit the eject button did it make any noise like it was trying to eject. The screen read "Eject Error". How to get the disc out?

In the past I have poured glue into them, Popped the red thing out, etc , but this is a lease and I might well turn it in in a few years and do not want to physically modify the smart key, but twice in the last week it has falsely triggered by getting pressed by the other keys on my keychain as I sat in the house. This must be a common problem, since I had to defeat the same button on 2 other cars I had. I am wondering if there is a software fix to have the receiver in the car ignore the panic mode.
View 13 RepliesAll of a sudden, my 2008 prius, basic package without the smart entry system, stopped locking or opening the doors when i pressed the button.
At first i thought it must be a dead battery, so i replaced it with a new one and got the exact same behavior. i checked the old battery and it was still giving off 3 volts as was the new one when i checked that with a volt meter. when i press any of the buttons on the key, a small led light goes on and on the dashboard a picture of a key lights up briefly. the owner's manual does not show the key as a warning light.
I just bought a 2012 toyota camry se with smart key. The trunk button on the remote opens the trunk, but the smart key button on the trunk lid does not open the trunk. I found a brown module unplugged the the left of the seat release handles in the trunk, I checked the wiring to the switch on the trunk lid.

View 14 RepliesInserted updated nav disc as directed in nav disc slot, closed door. Now the disc is stuck in the scan-disc mode and the load/eject button doesn't work on it. Wondering if there is a way to force eject the disc or other way to unstick it. You can hear the disc 'whirring' briefly as if it is trying to eject, but is stuck. It does this over and over. That's the only sound; none of the other buttons are responsive.

View 5 RepliesI've observed that on a cold start first thing in the morning that there is a noise that appears to come with the depression/release of the clutch. This only occurs the first couple of times and then goes away. My drive is down a hill with speed bumps so the clutch gets used a couple of times shifting down from 3rd to 2nd. After the third/fourth/fifth depression of the clutch the noise goes away.
The car as of now only has 140 miles on it. My daily commute is 2.5 miles each way.
I've emailed the Ford dealer from where I purchased the car, but had no response.
Sounds like the clutch release bearing to me.
My Pris 2010 would not start this morning. My wife tried to start the car this morning and it would not start. All the symbols on the display light up and would not go. She then tries to turn off the car, but the Triangle symbol with the exclamation mark within it lights up. The Start button light is red and the Park button flashes green. Added to that is the constant beep that you hear when you try to close the door with the keys in the car. I cannot even turn the steering wheel. I had to get it towed to the Toyota dealer and am was told that i would hear back tomorrow.

View 4 RepliesI don't drive a lot so on my 2008 Prius I could turn the smart key on/off with a button below the steering column and it keeps the system from constantly searching for the signal. That stop some of the drain on the 12 volt battery. My new 2013 Prius 3 doesn't have that button. Is there a way to turn the smart key system on/off easily?

View 3 Repliesrecently the remote locking buttons have been acting weird. The locking system itself may be to blame but let me elaborate. Lately I've been trying to lock the car with the remote, but sometimes it will beep once, lock the car, then immediately unlock it. This will repeat if I try it over again. If the car is locked, the remote at times will not unlock the car and twice I've had to manually unlock it.

View 2 RepliesI have a 2007 Prius 2, the key will not open the doors, so I went to the store replaced the remote battery but it is still not working. The light on the remote lights up as usual. I can get in using the small metal key, the car starts and everything seem to be working fine with the smart key plugged in. The 12v battery seems to be fine as all the lights work when the car is off. What this might be?

Is there a way to get all the doors to unlock when you pull the handle instead of just the drivers door unlock. I frequently travel with a passenger and it would be nice to not have to unlock my door first, and then bend over and click the unlock button inside.

View 19 RepliesThe last several times I've gone for gas, the car won't recognize the smart key after fill up, either in or out of the slot. It does not recognize either of my 2 smart keys. I have changed the batteries in both keys. I am able to lock/unlock doors, but not start the car. The red light on the dash indicates there is no key. Dealer cannot find the problem. Eventually the car does start after some time (5 to 20 minutes) and I have not been able to identify what changes to make it so.
