I found the tutorial on removing the rear door panel, but I could not get the front door panel removed. I worked on it and got the 3 screws out, but I tried pulling and heard a snap so I might have already broke a clip.

However, even after removing the center nut I still cannot get the steering wheel out. I have tired pulling it hard and tapping it lightly but no success.
How to get the steering wheel to come out at this point?

View 5 RepliesSo I have the JBL 8 speaker system on my 2010 Prius with the Navi. The sound really seems to be all coming from the front. I have the fade adjusted in the center correctly, as well as left/right centered. I guess I was expecting a more dynamic sound that filled the car. I have to say I am not overly impressed with the sound quality.

My passenger side rear door handle does not work. My mechanic fixed it once, said the cable had jumped off the pulley. I figured it can't be that difficult to fix if I can get the door panel off.
I have a 2006 Azera and recently had the small part of the door handle fall off (part #83652E). I got a new part but wanted to know how easy it is to install this or whether I should have the dealer do it. Do I need a special tool to remove the door panel/clips or can I do it with something else. Once inside, is it just as simple as screwing the new part on through a hole in the door?

-Audio is my hobby. I hear things that many people don't. One of the things I'm hearing from my Sound System I is a faint buzzing/vibration in many of the speakers. Some of it can only be heard in certain songs (Steely Dan/Jack Of Speed - Great song!), or when playing an audio book. Most of the time, it comes from the woofers, but with audio books (spoken word), I can hear it from midrange/tweeters as well.
-I've had the car at the dealer multiple times for this. They did replace one speaker and claim to have parts in order to fix it. I suspect that the speakers are just vibrating on their mounts, or vibrating something inside the door. I might be able to fix it. How to take the door panels off so the speakers can be accessed?
The SKS on my 2010 Prius V used to open all doors when I grabbed the door handle but now it only opens the driver's door. I remember seeing somewhere in this forum that this is one of the few driver customizable options (unless it is for Gen II only) and I should be able to make the change on my own.
View 3 Replies2012 Prius Five. Dealer installed remote start using the stock key fob. This is the one where you push the twice button twice then press it and hold it for three seconds. The emergency lights flash while in remote start but the car shuts down when a door is opened.
A few problems I'm having is that first off the range stinks. I'm used to a chrysler remote start that I could turn on from the far end of my house and I'd hear the car beep twice to know it was turning on. Plus you can hear the V8 start. The Prius makes no noise so my only confirmation is to look out the window and make sure the flashers are flashing. Any way to have the horn beep to confirm? speaking of which, does this car have a horn?
I am trying to wire something, My plan is when a door is open my side marker fender light will be ON as well as the interior lights, problem I am having is when I turned ON my side marker the interior light on my prius is ON too,.

View 19 RepliesJust noticed while I was driving that the led lights in lower drivers door courtesy lamp was on. All other lights like dome are off.... I can open door and dome comes on and close and it goes out but my drivers door lamp just dims a little but stays on.
I tried to leave the car and lock....all lights shut off but the drivers lamp! Had to disconnect lamp for now to avoid drain. What could cause this?
Just a thought.....could the LED lamp go bad and cause this?
I'm wondering if this applies to all of you with JBL with navi system. My system's fader shows that it is set right in the middle between the front and back but it seems the front gets most of the sound and the back gets only a little until I move the cursor back a couple of notches. My parents have the same 2010 JBL with navi and theirs is the same thing. Is this normal or am I going crazy? If it is normal, why?
View 2 RepliesI have a 2008 Prius Touring HB. A few months ago, I left the car on Acc mode by mistake and drained the 12V battery. Had to use the manual key to get in the vehicle and jump start the vehicle. Since then I have not been able to open the drivers side door with the SKS and touch sensor. I can lock the door by pressing the black button the handle. Battery in teh FOB appears to be functioning well. Doors unlock when I touch the passenger side handle or the latch on the rear hatch. Key button is up (SKS is operational).
I am not sure if I may have done something when jump starting that turned off the sensor feature of the driver side handle.
Noticed that the stock speakers are very susceptible to getting blown? Rarely do I have crank up the music as I'm driving, but the right front speaker is rattling so bad now that I don't even turn on any music now until I can take it in to get replaced. The speaker settings are all slightly over mid range for bass, treble, etc.
View 19 RepliesI had the Rosen HU installed today. All functions are working. However, the front speakers will cut out from time to time, and then come back on by themselves. The power loss to the front speakers is typically 2-3 seconds, but has lasted as long as five seconds.
The installer followed all directions. The antenna is on top of the unit itself, behind the dash.
I own a 2009 GEN III Prius with full nav and the standard 6 speakers, no JBL. It has 2 speakers in the dashboard, 2 speakers in the front doors en 2 speakers in the back doors.
I upgraded my front speakers with 3 way JBL GTO 938 speakers, expecting to improve the low and mid frequencies. Unfortunately, the results are disappointing: Apparently, the speakers in the front doors only get LOW frequencies. So, the real lows are fine now, but I expected more from this.

My audio system seems to have lost the drivers front speaker. It works fine for the nav. lady and when I get phone calls but will not put any sound at all through from the radio.

Recently 2 of front driver side speakers stop working(1 on dash,1 on door) only when I listen to radio and stream music from my iphone. I played with the L/R F/R balance and made sure about it. However when I got phone call and using navigation guidance voice it works no problem.
View 1 RepliesI have been experiencing loud popping and static/feedback sound from my front left speaker or tweeter. I replaced the jbl speaker with used jbl speaker. But it seems that my tweeter is done for as well. No sound comes out of it. Is it best just to replace it with a new jbl tweeter or are there better options that fit with not a lot of work.
