Prius C (Audio/Electronics) :: Display Of Total MGP From Filling To Fill Up?

How do you or can you keep the MPG display from resetting every trip. Is there a way to have it display the total MPG from filling to fill up?

View 1 RepliesCan Display Audio's phone interface accept pauses or waits (P or W) in the phone number? My phone uses them for voicemail passwords, eg dial the number, pause a few seconds, and then dial the password. So far it does not work at all through the bluetooth interface when initiated through voice command ("call xxx xxx xxxx pp yyyy#") or through the car's screen. I tried to directly store a similar number into the Display Audio "stored" numbers but could not find an option for the P pause.
View 6 RepliesSometimes in the bright sunlight, I cannot see the audio display or the small AC display that shows which vents the air is coming out from. Is there any way to illuminate these displays? Will some LEDs around them work or make it worse? I'm driving a C two. I have no intention of upgrading to an aftermarket sound system; I just want a simple inexpensive way to see the info on the screen.
View 3 RepliesJust got a 2012 c3, and I'm trying to get my iPod Nano (4th gen) to show up on the display as an iPod, controllable from the steering wheel and display. The manual says this iPod model is compatible. The iPod software is up to date.
If I plug my iPod into the AUX with a standard audio cable, it plays over the speakers fine but the display shows only "aux" and has no controls for it. If I plug it into the USB with an Apple cable, it doesn't plays over the speakers at all, and the USB doesn't show up as active on the display -- it's grayed out. I tested the cable elsewhere and confirmed it's fine.
Why does the fuel usage (MPG) stats reset after filling up the tank??
Can I set it so that it doesn't do that?
Any way to see my iPhone 5 screen on the display of the car? I love the big screen mote than the tiny iPhone 5 screen.
View 2 RepliesI went to turn my 2005 on today the normal startup screen came on then it went dark for about 5 secs then came on with the normal consumption display but with no readings. Also there is no radio memory and I can't see volume control or radio tuning. Any way to reset the system? Here is what I mean by no readings...

I've been using Google Maps on my iPhone 6 through my Prius C1's bluetooth for years, and it's 99% reliable. But only if I'm currently playing music from my phone (using the built-in Music app). If I pause the music, all the turn-by-turn directions invariably come through sounding like a shitty quality phone call. The "Talking..." prompt on the car's dash display also appears, so I'm guessing the car thinks I'm making a phone call, even though I'm not.
This wouldn't be that bad, except that every time a direction prompt sounds, the music pauses for a few seconds, playing through the shitty quality phone mode. This sounds awful, and is the main reason I want to find a solution to this problem. But it's not the only issue.
Strangely enough, if I start a navigation in Google Maps before I get into my car, the bluetooth will treat all the audio coming from my phone, including music, as a shitty quality phone call. The only way to fix it is to shut down the engine and reboot the entire car.
I've done a little bit of experimentation with Apple Maps, and it seems not to suffer from this problem. But I've been using Google Maps for ages, I'm using to the UI, and I trust it a lot more than Apple Maps. I'd much prefer to continue using Google if at all possible.
I have a 201o Prius with the stock stereo (no nav system). When it's hot outside (100deg+ F) and I get into the car, often the stereo display will flash and the unit is inoperable. Then, all the CDs are ejected. After I turn on the AC and the interior cools down, I can press the power button on the stereo and it comes back to life.
View 2 RepliesThe display it's always on when you drive.I do not have a navigation system and sometime I don't want to listen to music while I drive. The Manual won't say anything about it,you can push the power off for the CD but then the display stays on.This is the first car that I own that you can't shut the display off complete.

View 3 RepliesJust traded in our 2010 Prius (III with nav) for a Prius v (Five) with display audio. Love it, and glad we made the switch.
On our old Prius, the display would simply change back to the map view after ~5-10 seconds. The new car does not seem to do this. No luck searching the manuals or the Internet. Is it possible?
2011 Prius III with Navigation package and love it, but I noticed my rear-view camera display shows no grid lines on the screen while in reverse.
View 10 RepliesI've got a 2011 III with the solar sunroof/JBL package and there are a couple of things I wonder about:
The nav display shows the remaining time and distance to my destination. I've used Garmin units in the past that tell me what my estimated arrival time is. Can I change to show this instead?
I'm running iOS 5 on an iPhone. I can stream music nicely thru it, though I have to set up the proper app on the phone before doing so. It even lets me skip a selection playing on Pandora using the steering wheel up arrow button. My question is if I'm playing from the Music app, can I change playlists or albums using the steering wheel controls?
Having issue with nav system turning off? I've had my C for about three weeks now, and I sometimes experience this issue. Usually I'm listening to Pandora, and the whole display audio system turns off and reboots. This issue occurs randomly, not when I'm interacting with the menu system or anything.
View 19 RepliesPrius iv with upgraded nav (sunroof package)...after a year and 15k miles, all of a sudden display stays on daylight mode at night. It is blinding! What happened and how can I fix it?
View 2 RepliesI started my Prius and the Navigation Display open on it's own without me touching any buttons as though it wanted me to load a CD. Now it is stuck in the open position and the CD player is making noises like a CD is stuck but do not have a CD in the player.
I have hit every button to try to get it to close, no luck. It is stuck on the FM station I was listening to and will change stations or to AM, CD, SAT. I turned the car on and off several times just stuck open.
My MFD now only shows the Toyota Logo, whatever I do. Also, I cannot play music. The trick with pressing (hold) INFO and headlights three times does not bring up a diagnostic screen. My theory is that the MFD is waiting for some signal over the network before showing the usual screen (and it never gets that signal). Some years ago, I had a third party fit a new audio tuner and player (non-Toyota), and that worked more or less fine for years.
They had to leave the old faulty Toyota audio in the circuit to make it all work, and they said to leave the graphic equaliser on even settings, and then forget it. The old Toyota audio CD changer had failed, but the rest was OK. My 'guess' is that they had to leave the old audio device connected because it terminates the AVC-LAN with a 60 ohm resistor. Maybe that connection came off, and now the LAN signals are not good, and the MFD is locked up 'always waiting' for the signal from an ECU.
I have 2004 Prius with 150K miles. All of a sudden, display went dead. A/C controls working fine but other half of MFD is not responding. It was also difficult to turn car off. Took several attempts and finally was able to turn car off. My Prius does not have GPS in it. Car starts and runs fine otherwise.
View 2 RepliesI want to install an external display ipod adapter (Kenwood KOS-A300) in my 2010 Prius IV, but in reading the manual I see that the power wiring for this device requires 3 connections - Ground, Ignition, and Battery (it also has a dimmer control wire, but I am hoping that one can be left disconnected).
I haven't come across an accessory like this before - usually they just need 12v and ground and in these cases I just tap into the wiring for a 12v accessory power outlet to get these connections. My recollection in this car is that the accessory power outlets are switched (either with ignition "on" or accessory "on"), and they turn off when the car is shut down.
Is there a convenient location inside the vehicle where I can connect a wire that is always hot with 12 volts?
