I have a 2015 Pius C Two and would like to install a backup camera. There are a lot of various kits available for purchase, but most (if not all) of them are being wired to some external monitor. Looking for info about installed such camera and wired it to the screen?
Also, is there a concern of voiding a warranty?
I am thinking of trying to install a back-up camera on my 06 CRV. Anything I might do wrong that would cause me other electrical problems after. I imagine there would be install instructions with it.
View 3 RepliesI am looking to install a rear view mirror gps system with built in backup camera on my 2011 Corolla S. I have been searching for various different types and so far I have found these two links which look to be suitable.
will the wireless camera work good or is it better to get a wired one? Sounds like the gps system included maps for Canada & US. I am not sure if the camera will fit properly on this car or will it stick out. Also whether running a wire from the mirror to the camera will be challenging.

I have a 2015 Avalon XLE. Am I missing something? There are no warning beeps when backing close to an object. Cannot find anything in the Users Manual. The basic does not have the sensors.
View 5 RepliesBackUp Camera just stopped working! I got into my car today and unbeknownst to me, when I went to park my backup cam just completely went blank. After a few few hours and two short trips, I tried again. Same thing, nada on the screen.
I will post video of the issue, I'm going to Lexus in the am to see what they say. I saw some people have had issues with their music amp clipping. It has happened to me too, but only for a few seconds. I'm starting to think its an electrical issue. We'll see
I have a Prius 2 (non nav) and would like to get a backup camera installed.
View 1 RepliesMy backup camera seems to have all of a sudden lost its aim such that the alignment marker is higher on the right than it is on the left meaning that the edge of the bumper is higher on the right as well. It just happened all of a sudden and seems to be pointed a little to the left. Any way to adjust it or is this one for the 5K mile checkup?

View 1 RepliesI have a 2007 Prius and the MFD started to work intermittently and now has died. It is an 86110-47230. Is it more likely the MFD unit itself died or does the wiring in the dash sometimes go bad. Everything I have read suggests the MFD. My backup cam doesn’t work since the MFD died, and that is a safety issue and should be covered under some type of Fed safety regulations on a five year old car, but apparently not.
My battery tests good. Wiring connections on the back are connected well. Before I buy a used MFD and install it myself, I want to get an idea of the odds that it’s the MFD or wiring that is the problem.
Can the backup camera on the v be adjusted? Objects that are actually close look much farther away.
View 2 RepliesMy backup camera is only working about 20% of the time with no pattern to it. When I shift into reverse I get a bright white screen with colorful vertical lines in it. Everything else about my display works fine. Is there a way to reset something on this? Every now and then it works but most of the time I get the white screen with vertical colored lines. It's a 2006 package #8 with 63k.

View 7 RepliesI have a weird problem with my 2006 with HID headlights and 78k miles. When I turn on the headlights, the reverse camera turns on & so do the back-up white lights. I can clear the reverse camera by pushing any button, but the back-up lights are a big problem. No codes are being seen via ODB, everything else works great, and no fuses appear to be blown.

According to best buy technician, Prius factory harness is not supplying power when car is put in reverse gear. I am not sure how to address this problem.

Occasionally i get a vertical line on the left side of the screen when the backup camera is on. Its like the old film days with the line running down on the screen. I can't recreate it.

What IS challenging me is where to mount the bugger, and where to pass the wire through to the trunk front the outside.
I dropped the trunk lid liner and did not see any grommets or pass-through spots for the cables. Do I need to drill a hole and silicone it, or is there something I am missing? If I have to drill, I guess I can do it under the chrome trim piece that holds the trunk lock keyway.
Is it possible to add a backup camera to a 2012 Camry LE and have it display on the display screen? I have read that many people have added backup cameras to their SEs or XLEs with navigation systems but I wasn't sure if it was possible on a basic LE with no nav. If it is possible to add a backup camera to an LE, which brands will work and where can you typically get them installed?
View 2 RepliesI just bought a 2 din DVD HU and will install a backup camera with it for my 2005 Camry LE.
A few questions:
1) what's the best way to run video cable from HU to trunk? Through side panel then under door molding or through center storage console then under the carpet?
2) what method do you recommend to tap into backup light for +12V to power the camera? Is there a breakout wire harness that I can buy, or splice the wire (then solder them together) or use a wire tap connector (never used these before, are they reliable and do they hold together a couple years)?
I noticed that the backup camera on my IS is off centered. The distance shown between my car and the object behind it is fine. The sides are the problem!
When the 2 side lines on the screen suggest that I'm centered, I am actually closer to the left than the right side. I always turn my head when backing up anyway, but noticed this issue from day 1.
