One thing that always annoyed me about my 2013 Prius C was that screen on the climate controls is SO BRIGHT at night, and turning the dimmer down didn't do anything to change it. I like a very dark dash when driving at night.

After charging the battery and getting it running, when I go to the climate control on the touchscreen, I don't get any climate controls. I get the error "Please check air conditioner connection". Any quick way for me to reset or rectify this or do I need to go to the dealer? This error is a result of a dead battery?
View 1 RepliesI turned on the climate control this morning when I started the car and tried to change the temperature, then for some reason until the car was warmed up the climate control went to lo and seemed like it was locked there.
Once I the car got warmed up, the climate control worked was normal. It seemed like the increase/decrease controls were locked.
I have a '13 GS with the Luxury Package that has the rear seat climate & radio controls. I'm not sure if there is an issue or if the system is locked....Of the rear controls everything related to audio portion works correctly...Now if I try to turn on the heated seats, or change the temperature, or blower speed none of those work as they should.

I never touch the screen and I always take the car to the local car wash for cleaning. Is there any way to remove them or is this something I'll have to live with?

View 5 RepliesI have a 2008 3.3 base model in which the climate controls wont change exhaust location. That is to say, it is stuck on bi-level right now. Recirculation still functions.
At least a year ago, it started making an unusual fast clicking/grinding noise whenever I switched from defrost or bi-level to a vent positions. The noise can be best described as something you would expect to hear from a Lego electric motor. It didn't sound serious and it only made this noise a few seconds as the vent changed. Recently, it remained in the vent position and would not move to defrost. Then, suddenly one day it changed to bi-level and has never made a noise or changed position since.
Summer heat here is unbearable and I need the A/C to blow out the vents so I want to manually change the position if I cannot fix the problem altogether. Just don't know if this is vacuum controlled or an electric servo and where it may be located or how much effort to get to it.
I was wondering if it would be just a plug and play to exchange manual a/c controls to automatic climate control thingie. Id expect CAN coding but im just wondering if i could just bolt on and code or is there way much more to it like additional control module and what not .... maybe even not possible at all.

View 1 RepliesLast year my oem remote starter worked great. This year when I start the car with the remote start the climate controls do not power on until I insert the key and turn it. I've pulled just about every fuse out, in and under the hood and can't find the problem. Not sure where to go from here.
View 7 RepliesWas driving the last week and happened to look down and notice the display for my climate controls was completely black. They were still running at whatever I had them last set at but couldn't change anything or turn the system off. Pulled into a parking lot, turned the truck off then started it again and everything was working fine.
Couple days later, was driving down the road again, glanced down and now my climate display, stereo display and odometer display were all black but once again everything was still functioning, just couldn't change anything. Turned my wipers on to check those, heard a little click, and all the displays popped back on like normal???? Wipers worked just fine too.
I'm assuming a short somewhere but wouldn't even know where to start to look or if it's even within my limited skill set to try and track down.
Owner of a brand new '13 Prius C Two. No "Entune" system, just the basic radio. I connect my iPhone 5 via Bluetooth; it works wonderfully. I can still use the handset controls to make phone calls; I have speed dials set up, and using my iPhone 5 as a phone in the car works great.
What stopped working this morning: skipping tracks using either the "Seek" button on the Prius radio itself as well as the controls on the steering wheel. Volume controls on the radio itself AND on the steering wheel work just fine for adjusting the volume.
The "Pause/Play" button on the Prius radio does work, but only after about :04 seconds or so. A song or podcast will play; the steering wheel controls for skipping tracks does not work; same with the Seek button on the radio itself; and pressing the pause/play button works, but not immediately after depressing it. Takes a few seconds.The only way to skip ahead/backward is on the iPhone itself.
For the almost 2 months I've owned the Prius C, this is the first time this has happened. Connecting audio via Bluetooth has "just worked" every single day. What's perplexing about this is that I've changed nothing on the iPhone overnight. The Seek button on the Prius radio worked fine yesterday, as did the steering wheel controls not even 24 hours ago.
The Seek button on the radio itself does work with the radio and a CD. Same with the steering wheel controls; as long as I'm not trying to control the iPhone, it works fine.
2008 base model. A couple of years ago, I noticed whenever I changed my climate controls to defrost or bi-level, there was a 'gurgling' noise coming from behind the panel as the mechanism switched. Several months ago, the gurgling stopped as did the ability for me to change where the fans vents. Right now it is stuck on bi-level. something similar happened in a work truck the other day and I easily traced it to a small tube that had detached from a plug. I am wondering if the climate controls in the Santa Fe are also vacuum controlled and, if so, where might I find this tube?

View 7 RepliesWas on my way to get an oil change at my buddies shop. Started hearing a clicking sound. My climate controls no longer will respond. the Auto button is lit up but I can't turn the air off. I get hot air from the vents. When the clicking does stop the system goes back to working order. My friend checked it out and says the clicking is from the blend door motor.
View 6 RepliesI have a 2008 LS360L with 4-zone climate control. For whatever reason, the rear seat controls and display do not work for climate control. The controls still work for radio, rear seat adjustment and window shades, but climate functions are unoperable.
Additionally, the 4-zone buttons on the nav touchscreen are now missing in the climate menu. There used to be left / right passenger settings and then a button to switch to rear seat settings. These options have all disappeared from the menu.
I can press the 4-zone physical button on dash and manually change temperature settings for driver or passenger by pressing physical driver / passenger temperature up / down buttons.
The only thing I can attribute to this is I had the dealer do a map upgrade to the nav system. All other features / functions work, but the timing is somewhat suspect... They really do not believe this upgrade caused the problem.
Are there hidden menus I may have hit to deactivate this feature?
I had this happen once and nothing I did would get the heat to come on and it was cold outside. I ended up turning truck off then back on and it worked. What causes this?
