I have a 2012 Prius C II my question is why is that when I press the Fob key to Lock/Unlock I only get a flashing light. (Headlights) there is no sound at all. How do I activate it so it flashes and have sound?
View 4 RepliesOn the passenger door the proximity sensor stopped working. 2014 PP. When I touch the door with the FOB in my pocket it does not unlock. If i swipe my finger on the door handle with the fob in my pocket it does not lock.
View 19 RepliesI have my toyota pirus 2008 and i'm facing problem with it electric door locks. it's Security light flashing on the dash and the electric door locks won't unlock from the inside of the car but will lock. so i'm looking for a locking for locksmith who can solve it asap.
View 2 RepliesRecently, I've been having issues with my door locks. When exiting the car, and pressing the door lock on the outside handle, I would here the door lock solenoid fire once, then open, and the door would not lock. Same thing would happen when I used the FOB. The door would not lock. On occasion, I would get the door to lock, and stay locked by using the door lock inside the car when the door was open.
On the occasions when I did get the door locked, I then had issues unlocking. If I approached the drivers door to unlock the door, the car would just keep repeatedly beeping, and would not unlock the drivers door. But, the back door would unlock, so I could reach in, and open the drivers door from the back.
I have a 2010 Prius with about 51,000 miles on it. About a month ago the front passenger lock actuator began failing and wouldn't lock/unlock with the remote. I had to manually slide the lock shut before I exited the car or it would keep beeping when I pressed the lock button on the remote.
Well, now the driver's side door is doing the same thing. When I touch the front door handle (to unlock the doors) it beeps like 8 times while it tries to unlock all four doors. I have to open the back drivers-side door and manually unlock the front door so I can drive the car.
My passenger rear lock is no longer lock/unlocking via power. I had an issue with the driver front, but it was replaced under warranty. Since it's a 2007, it's certainly no longer under warranty.

Also, my window lock button locks all of the window roll down buttons in the car except the driver side window button. It even locks the window buttons on the driver side door. Why in the world would it be useful to lock myself out of rolling down a window? Is there any way to fix this so that I can roll down the rear or passenger windows while they are locked for the kids in the back?
I have a 2012 Corolla. The key fob locks/unlocks all doors except the drivers door. I've read multiple forums saying its most likely the actuator in the drivers door, but the lock/unlock button on the door itself works just fine. This just seems weird to me. I'm really hoping it's not a complex electrical issue.

On the 2001 Nissan Xterra, when I Lock the door ..sound like the horn.
I am new to the web site and new to owning a Prius. Recently my wife and I bought a 2013 Prius two. I have a couple questions about the settings menu on the display. When you hit the set up button and then 'vehicle' it gives you a list of several items you can turn on or off. The first few are pretty easy to understand such as the doors unlocking at a certain speed or when shifting to or from park. But the others I've tried to search for what they mean and can't find anything. So my questions are:
1. What does 'Remote 2-Press Unlock' mean? And
2. What does 'Key System with Elec. Key' mean?
I can't figure out what my HV range is once the gas light starts flashing. The first time it came on, I filled up pretty quickly but the car only took 8 gallons. I know the tank holds 10.6. There has to be a range meter somewhere that I'm missing so I'm not running straight to the gas station as soon as the light starts flashing.
View 19 RepliesI bought a second hand 2012 prius v with 70k mileage on it from an official toyota dealer. I was stopped at a red light and suddenly the skidding light went on. I didn't think much of it until i wanted to move, and the car didn't!
I immediately powered off and on, and it did work right away (without the skidding light) so I'm not sure how serious this issue is. but i wouldn't want my car to do this IF i was moving. so far, I'm unable to re-create this.
I took it to a dealer and asked if there was any recall on this issue and they said there isn't. It seems like there is a software issue just like this with OLDER prius, but not my model.
On my '88 Ranger, there is the key lock that needs to be pressed to remove the key. When I changed the ignition cylinder, I darn near went ahead and removed it. I though I better check here first, and see if I was going to disable some other function I don't know about.

View 6 RepliesMy FOB doesn't work locking/unlocking my '06 prius. I use the embedded key to lock. When I want to lock it, I lock it from the inside.
a. I know the door lock actuator motors are not bad because I was able to lock it from the inside using the lock/unlock switch on the driver side door panel.
b. I checked the voltage on the AUX battery. It read 12.4v. So that is not the problem.
c. Key fob battery strength is good (I see the red LED every time I use the remote).
d. I don't have a SKS system so no switch exists to enable or disable the SKS under the steering.
While on a recent vacation, my sister-in-law, trying to do a good thing, washed my clothes but neglected to remove my FOB for my 2008 Prius. I returned home only to find that the FOB would not lock/unlock the doors.
I replaced the battery (the old one was reading only .03vDC) but still no remote lock/unlock.
How can you tell if the FOB is working since there is no "little red light" like I have seen mentioned by other owners
It looks as if the FOB should be watertight, is it? Any way to clean inside the FOB in case there is some corrosion? What should be my next step?
When I lock or unlock my Prius C with the handle or the key, it used to beep, now it no longer will beep, I've checked the doors and hood to make sure they are all shut and it will still not beep.
View 11 RepliesSecond time I've had this problem this winter. 2007 Prius, about 65K miles. When the outside temps go below 20 or so the car locks seem to not want to work. For example this morning temp was about 19, smartkey unlocked the car ok-took a couple of button pushes but it worked. Car started fine. Drove to work and after shut down couldn't lock the car. Smartkey didn't work, pushing the door button didn't work. Lock switch inside the car works, so I locked the doors except driver's then used the manual key to lock the driver's door.
I've checked the battery using the internal maintenance screens, no load voltage about 12.3V, Load voltage 11.7Volts, Charging voltage 14.3 volts. I know I'm due for a 12V battery with it being 5 years old and such, and I'm pretty sure a good cold day will kill it dead. But, other than the battery...
I have been having an intermittent door unlock switch failure... The driver side and passenger side unlock doesn't work but the lock does... It has been intermittent, but now seems consistently not working... This is now accompanied by a flashing battery light on the dash, which I've never seen before....as well, the dome lights have stopped working, could be bulbs, haven't checked, but i replaced them within a year ago...
I guess my question is.... Would a flashing battery light be connected to switch not working? Is it likely to be the module since both passenger and driver side unlock function failed at the same time? I doubt both actuators would go at the same time...The other odd thing to tag on to this is a month ago my fuel gauge went dead... I keep wondering if there is a common connection....
I am experiencing with my key fobs on my current 2004 Prius. The issue is that I am unable to unlock and lock the car via the SKS Remote, and I am only able to turn on the car via inputting one of the fobs into the slot to turn on the car.
