View 19 RepliesIm very happy with the Prius that I have a 2010 V, its loaded with all of the options that were available at the time and I get a true 43 -46 mpg with my driving style and daily commute. The Prius averages more than twice the mileage I was getting with my other cars.
But I stumbled on the Lexus Cth and it seems its a Prius with a Lexus styled body and interior. The Lexus is a more conventional body style and seems to be a little better fit and finish on the interior but at a little less MPG. I tested a 2012 Cth with the F sport package over the weekend nd really liked it.
Will the assenmacher toy 640 fit my 2013 Prius two?
View 1 RepliesI'm in the market for a Prius and I read on carcomplaints that the 2010 model has excessive oil consumption issues. When I searched for more info about this issue, it seems that it occurs in the other model years as well. I'm wondering if I should avoid the 2010 model when looking for a used Prius, or if the trend on carcomplaints is incorrect and this issue is no worse on this model year than others. Did Toyota switch to a different piston ring in this year or are they all the same in the gen 3s?
View 19 RepliesI just had an oil change done on our 2010. Also of note, I've just switched the winter tires over to summer tires - done myself. So here's the issue. When coasting, particularly at low speeds, a rubbing noise can be heard issuing from the front right somewhere. The noise goes as the rpms go and seems to go away when either braking or accelerating. I'm not sure if it's present at high speeds due to road noise which would overwhelm it.
View 4 RepliesThe temperature has dropped down into the 30s here and in my 2011 Gen 3 Prius, when I am driving at highway speeds (55mph-75mph), and go over any sort of light bump or rough road (gently rough, nothing significant just normal "imperfect" highway bumps), there is a rattling sound coming from the front of the dashboard where it meets the windshield that can only be described as the same sound that your hand makes when it's rubbing a balloon! Not your normal plastic random rattle, but like "rubbing a balloon with your hand quickly" sound.
I don't mind that other plastic random rattles from time to time (I am not OCD about the imperfections of how much plastic is in the car), but this is obnoxious and I feel like I'm literally driving a clown car. Is there some sort of lubricant or adhesive that is between where the dashboard and windshield meet that has possibly dried out, that the dealership could quickly fix or apply? I'll still under full warranty at 22k miles.
I bought my Tiguan used. Not sure what model I have. The S, SE or SLE. How to determine the model? I have heated leather seats. FWD. Fog lights. Automatic with tip tronic transmission. and its a 2011.
View 18 RepliesI'm debating whether to purchase a new 2011 GTI with Xenons/Sun Roof/Nav (no autobahn) or a 2012 with convenience/sunroof (one step under authobahn).
The 11' (xenons, sunroof/nav) is going for 26,500 (and negotiable) and I'm waiting on a price for another 2011 GTI full up Autobahn.
Is it worth going for the 11' if I can get a 12' for 25,900 sans the xenons and Nav? Don't need the leather and don't need the nav but I'd love the xenons at the right price.
I'm not sure if an 11' make sense unless I can get an amazing deal on it, taking depreciation into consideration.
Sometimes my steering wheel squeaks. It sounds like plastic rubbing against plastic. The first dealership said the compartment under the steering wheel was rubbing against the column or something inside and that they made an adjustment and the sound stopped. It didn't. The second dealership told me they couldn't figure it out unless they heard the sound. Since it's not every time I drive, sure enough it made no noise at the dealership that day. The head of the shop looked into it and couldn't figure it out. He dry-lubed behind the steering wheel to get to a spring back there. He did the same for where the steering column comes into the car at the bottom of the car. Good for a few days. Squeaking back today.
View 9 RepliesI have a 2008 GTI, black, DSG - I love this car, best I have ever had. It has worked flawlessly - never in the shop for anything other than routine maintenance. Anyway, my lease will be up at the end of the year and was considering either buying out the lease or getting a new 2011 model. What's new and "improved" in the 2011 model?
View 21 RepliesMy 2012 Prius makes noise in cold days. After careful examination I found the noise comes from the rubbing between the joystick cover and the center console bridge cover. If I press the joystick cover with my fingers, the noise will be significantly reduced or even eliminated. So I think if I put a layer of soft material there, I may be able to eliminate the noise. How to remove the center console bridge cover? Either pictures or video will be great.
View 1 RepliesI'm having a problem with acceleration on cold start. It's an auto transmission model. Car always hesitate and jerks a bit before accelerating. Also acceleration is slow.
View 2 RepliesIn February I purchased a 2011 Subaru Impreza, 4 door sport with 26k miles, for 16,999.
Now 3 months later I have pilled on over 10k miles due to work, and constantly feel cramped with no space because I load so much into my car for my job (promotions and sales).
Recently, I have come across a 2014 Jeep Patriot sport with 15k miles for 19,600. The car seems to be in good condition inside and out.
Now I know nothing about Jeeps or cars as a whole really. But I do know that aside from size I love my Subaru.
Looking for opinions about switching from the 2011 Subaru Impreza to a 2014 Jeep Patriot?
Key features:
-I drive a ton
-Car is always loaded with stuff
-Fuel economy isn't a huge concern
-Subaru has over 36k miles
-Jeep has 15k miles
-In three months I have put over 10k on due to work
Stay with the Subaru or move to the jeep?
Can 2011 F250 factory 18" wheels fit on 2004 F250?
View 3 RepliesI watched a YouTube video on how to reset the maintenance message. Holding "ODO" then hitting start without foot on the brake didn't work like it did in the 2010 model year video. Something different for 2014?
View 3 RepliesIs there a dedicated button to quickly enable/disable this feature? 2014 model.
View 4 RepliesWhen we start the car, it goes to the Nav screen and the screen freezes up. We cannot do anything on the touch screen or even stop / start the radio using the button. We have to stop the engine and restart it to work normally. This happened a couple of times in the last two days. We have a Black / Black 2014 GX that we picked up last month.
View 4 RepliesI have a '11 GLS sonata, 56000kms ... Over the last few weeks I've noticed a 'vibration' rubbing sound while I'm making a right turn at med speeds or higher. I thought I heard it on the left side but not sure. Only notice the sound while turning.

View 7 RepliesInstalled 20x8.5 inch wheels/tires on 2011 Avalon Limited...tires are 245/35/20. I'm getting some rubbing when the car is loaded down and hitting bumps or too quick off the line. Car is white and I'm getting a little white paint on the outer wall of the back tires. Will rolling the quarter panels prevent rubbing or is this a too aggressive fitment?
View 9 RepliesI have an 11 GTI, got it about a month ago new. I noticed ever since I first drove it, when the tires are cold, and I maneuver in slow speeds, I hear a sort of rubbing noise over pavement. It almost sounds like when you drive a car slowly on an inside floor, like on a dealer's showroom - is it normal for them to do this? PSI is at the recommended levels, nothing seems to be rubbing. I think when the tires warm up the noise goes away, and especially at higher speeds it is not there.
